Literally the whole beginning of season 4 is a chain of Ranpo, Odasaku and Fukuzawa saving each other. Odasaku didn't know that the assistant dude set him up until Ranpo revealed it which 'saved ' him (loosely I know). Odasaku then indirectly saved Ranpo by giving Fukuzawa pertinent information and of course Fukuzawa saved Odasaku from the garbage that is prison food by giving him spicy curry lmao. After that Fukuzawa saves Ranpo physically and emotionally. Ranpo then goes on to save Yosano who we all know has saved many people herself. After that Ranpo saves Poe and then Poe helped rescue Kunikida and Poe('s book) saved Ranpo from Kamui on the ship. Ranpo also saves Mushitaro and that leads Mushitaro to (being blackmailed to but it still counts) saving Kyoka and Atsushi when Ango was trying to "capture" them by formulating a plan to hide in a bank vault. Anyway point is while it's not linear like Oda saving Dazai -> Dazai saving Atsushi -> Atsushi saving Kyoya it's definitely a chain, just a different one branches in different directions like an upside down Y (I impulsively wrote this reply at a quarter til 5 in the morning so if it makes no sense that is my excuse lmao)
I forgot to include Natsume whoops hahaha though he intentionally let himself get captured but I guess you could say Ranpo saved him. Main thing is Natsume saved Odasaku and helped Fukuzawa and Ranpo with getting an ability permit to start ADA.
This chain makes me happy, but it's sad how not a lot of people talk about it, and the few people who do often forget about Natsume-sensei and Odasaku.

I really love how the show gives both these chains. i also am intrigue by the fact dazai is in the middle of said chains. which makes me think sskk is just half of what dazai is, akutagawa reminds dazai a part of him that he hates, a part of him knowing he can do cruel things without caring whats its affect and atsushi is a part of dazai that odasaku help made which is why dazai prefers him.
