Why the hell should Newcastle care if England are playing?
The club pays the players
The player is still their asset. Can’t be playing them in pointless friendlies. Just give them a break. It’s meant to be a privilege to play for country regardless of who pays your wages.
they make it up as they go man
@@blackkid128 Clearly not a pointless friendly is it?
@@blackkid128majority of our players haven’t played a full season
True Newcastle pay the wages so they do what's best for the club, not England or any other international team
Trippier must understand that he is an employee & this is part of his contractual obligations.🤪
Plus he needs game time after being out for 2 months
The players should go to Australia with NO complaints.
They are paid obscene sums of money to do what they love to do.
Get on with it
Amen
YUP. 150k euro a week and flyin first class. staying 5 star. Absolutely nothing to complain about. If they are injured, they wont play. Its still their full time occupation
It’s a nice opportunity for Tottenhams Australian fans to support the opposition
😂
How the hell tote have fans ?
Given the FFP rules are in place to protect 'the big 6' then our owners have to pursue revenue streams wherever and whenever they arise.
Absolutely spot on … that’s the only reason they are whinging
Big point missed: All the players will be back home on their sofa by the time the FA Cup final kicks off, so it's hardly a big deal!
It is if they pick up a knock while they're away with the Euros a couple of weeks away
How many times has a player picked up an injury whilst away with their country? The club comes first as they pay the wages
Great point!
"Newcastle have saudi money that's not fair they must make money to spend it!!!"
Newcastle make money
"That's outrageous 😡😡😡!"
Newcastle trophyless despite all the money !!
@@jacklegros6614 riveting insight there
Stupid FFP rules have created this. If owners can’t put money into their club then who do you think has to pick up the slack. It’s all good these players wanting over 100k a week but these things are necessary if they want those contracts!!
Vast majority of players aren't going to the Euros anyway, Eddie isn't stupid enough to run Trippier, Schar etc ragged before an international tournament for the sake of a friendly
Send ndweni, white, Harrison, hall, MacArthur, Alex murphy etc
Joelinton, pope and miggy and wilson hardly played lately so perhaps them to
Eddie has no obligation to keep players fresh for Southgate. This game is vital revenue for Newcastle United
I thought Trippier would have seen it as an opportunity to improve his form and get himself in the England squad as he's been terrible since November. I'm a Newcastle fan and i wouldn't take him atm. Livermento would be a head of him for me
Sometimes the prem doesn't understand the reason they are the size they are is from international support and revenue. It seems very selfish to be a spurs supporter in aus and being told that the trip is an inconvenience
Oh, they didn't say that. They said that being a Spurs fan is an inconvenience.
The most important aspect of this is that risk of injury to a player who has a chance of playing for their country after a season that has seen the amount of players injured like Newcastle have had. I remember when Chelsea played in a game in America and Ruben Loftus Cheek was having a excellent season and he ruptured his Achilles tendon and he didn’t recover from that injury for two years and never got back to the level of form he had before the injury which was responsible for ruining his career and his potential international career in a game of football that he shouldn’t have been in. It’s a complete joke to make the team travel half way round the world to a country where football isn’t even the most popular sport that is played in. It’s behind cricket rugby and Aussie rules.
@@liberalslayer7220 if it is such an absurd idea to make the team travel to Australia, then why are they doing it? They are not going to Australia on holiday, so don't you think there might be a compelling economic reason behind this?
@@an0nym0us8c it’s for money. I don’t know any other club that has done this at the end of the season straight after the season ends. Knowing that they will have a number of players playing international tournaments giving them less time to rest. The clubs have been travelling for years in pre season tournaments so couldn’t they wait. I don’t care what these teams do to be honest I just think it’s not a good idea to risk it.
It’s the timing tho, they do pre season tours to the us and all that and it’s perfectly fine but with the international competition in this summer it’s odd
Why a player wouldn’t feel immense privilege and excitement to represent the club and play at the incredible MCG in front of thousands of fans who would not normally get to see you, is beyond me. They will not know what will hit them in terms of support in Australia. That stadium will be electric.
FFP puts these clubs into these situations. Clubs have to find a way to compete otherwise the whole league is a farce and there is no fair competition.
She holds 100 thousand and will be a sell out if it’s at the G
Tripps has been out for 2 months, he could do with the game time.
What about the players playing in the FA Cup Final, they're getting less of a break than the Newcastle and Spurs players, why are you singling out Newcastle and Spurs?
because flying to Australia and back will be a pretty big slog on these players.
@@dannyboy9573 oh my heart bleeds lol
@dannyboy9573 first class with beds, champagne on tap and pampered to hell.
@@dannyboy9573 was a piece of piss when I did it. And I guarantee I didn't travel in half the luxury they are.
@@dannyboy9573jet lag for 2 days? The poor darlings
I will be there at the MCG to watch Spurs and Newcastle - 🎉
They can travel to australia to play to appeal to fans over there but dont like the idea of possibly having to travel 100 mile for a fa cup replay for the fans over here that contribute to wages . Its a joke
Wait a minute... I thought the clubs were whining about too many games that's why the FA and PL scrapped the FA Cup replays.
I agree with Simon, of course there are many ways for a club to create revenue through merchandise, ticket sales, sponsorship and so on, but you also need these type of things (friendlies) to finance the players wages. Money doesn’t grow on trees, you have to create extra revenue to run the football club in a good, financial way.
Trippier... you're getting paid around £100,000 per WEEK. Stfu and go kick a football on a field in nice weather. Do you your employer pays you to do.
Maybe both clubs need the extra money to help them comply with the financial regulations. Doubly so when they won't be playing in the UCL next season.
Spurs should just take the U21's, I'm sure they'll appreciate the experience a lot more
Tripper hardly play for the season due to injury…..boy be quiet 🤫!!
As long as the owners of clubs like Newcastle are restricted from investing in their business to bring the club to a competitive level they will be forced to do what they can to increase buying power.
There’s no coincidence that the clubs with the richest squads see no value in such trips.
'Stop being offended on behalf of other people' says the fan who's offended by other people speaking out against something that doesn't affect him
Trippier should be slamming his own performances and not this trip, it’s two games and be back in week. Shut up it’s not a big deal at all.
It’s ONE match let ‘em get on with it ‼️
sj is right.
newcastle does not need money.
it is commercial.
But they can't spent the money owners have due to ffp so need to make money in order to spend more
@@wazzac5974with eddie howe and trippier, newcastle is like a aston martin woithout an engine.aston martin with an engine means MOURINHO and the real captain BRUNO!!!
Newcastle does not need money. It's commercial. Spot the contradiction
It's 1 match, an exhibition match. My god get over it. If Man U or Liverpool did it they'd be praised for growing their brand.
They've both done it and grew their brands. Everyone who attended will remember 90000 singing "You'll never walk alone" at the MCG.
I agree with Simon, there has to be a damn good reason for it. It's definitely not for my benefit, so there has to be a hook somewhere. Let's look at it another way, what if the money made from this trip goes to bringing in some great talent? Firstly, the players remaining have better results and therefore rewards. But they also get a helping hand on the pitch which we need. I bet nobody would complain about that
I can understand money grabber Levy wanting to go, but Newcastle are supposed to be the richest football club on the planet. What's in it for them ?
@@phildemetriou440 I’m guessing you’ve still not heard of FFP? Newcastle might be the richest but that’s irrelevant when FFP prevents them spending it.
If you get prize money from friendlies then Newcastle are allowed to spend more money
@@phildemetriou440 well, you've already had your question answered, but it's more than that to me.
City have become invincible by being allowed to go nuts and its wrecking the prem. Somebody's gotta stand up to them sooner or later. As you say, financially, we are the only ones that can do that and we have a ridiculous amount of ground to cover for that to happen while being hamstrung by ffp. I don't wanna be them, I would relish the challenge of not winning everytime, unlike city
So you ask what's in it for us? Healthy competition and the soul of the league is my answer
I believe Simon massively underestimates how many Geordies are out in Australia... We will tour, we will bleed in some young players for Eddie to look at ahead of pre-season and we'll build our commercial links as a result... It's simple maths.
Oh those young players were bled alright 😂 still cleaning up the mess
@@julesbrunton1728 haha I may have been optimistic when it came to how good some of them are
I wonder if the manager or players will complain after these games about how many games they’re having to play each season….. as their clubs fly them to the other side of the planet to play meaningless friendlies just a few weeks before the Euro’s….. only a few days after the season has ended….. I somehow doubt it.
So the FA Cup, Europa League, Europa Conference League, and Champions League finals will all take place after this game...?
Off to Japan in July is he complaining?
It is surprising how people whine when they have to accomplish tasks in their line of work. Why they don’t whine the salaries get delivered to their bank accounts?
Show some respect to the 80 000 Australian epl fans that get up at 3am on work nights to watch these teams play. Attending a meaningless friendly once a year is a well deserved thank you fron the clubs. Pundits can piss off
So warm weather training in the winter is ok but a quick friendly is a no no...
Totally different things. What’s your point?? So playing a friendly on the other side of the world is quick.. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@BridgeStamford Yes its a friendly with nothing at stake.
@@jtmmmm27 What are the odds of an injury while training compared to playing an actual game?
@@ian_r125 Its a freindly

Well we have to do this because of ffp so blame the Premier League
Trippier hasn't played for ages so actually needs the game time he was awful against man u
He weren’t awful he’s was disgusting absolutely 💩he needs to buckle his mouth and get on with his job if he don’t like it then leave the Toon
Did England or anyone else give a fcuk about having a WC mid season?
How did that affect clubs and the players THEY BOUGHT and pay wages too.
Cake and eat it comes to mind.
If there's biscuits in the kitchen where's the fun? Lol
Martin O'Neill... Chefs kiss!!
Full of macum 💩
I have never seen premier league players look so tired as the end of this season, that's across all teams. No idea why, did they get a shorter break because of the world cup being in Autumn the season before? This won''t help.
They always get less breaks than every other league
How many times are they going to REACT to this? I swear this is at least the 3rd time now.
A reminder that players CHOOSE to play football and they CHOOSE to play for Newcastle and Spurs. At the end of the day, it is their choice to go to Australia on a pre-season tour. Simple as that!
Spurs players had no European football... no fa cup runs.. out in both first rounds..we played the least amount of football out of all epl clubs.
One trip to oz is no big deal.
There’s a reason why Simon tried and quickly failed at owning a football club. He clearly has no clue about what it takes to be successful; the sports science, the fine margins etc. I will never understand why hes given an opportunity to share his ignorant opinions on this; he doesnt know what hes talking about
I have 0 sympathy for the player. They are the ones demanding ridiculous wages. I have 0 sympathy for someone earning 3-4x the average yearly wage in 1 week all because they have to take a luxury flight to Australia and play some football for a day or 2. Boohoo, and I’m a Newcastle fan.
Its a total nonsense , as soon as the season finishes surely it cant be about squeezing more games in ?? I am the last one to defend players, wages/lifestyle/ pedestals put on etc but as soon as the season is done 19/20/May that should be it..month 6 weeks off forget football ,July 1st pre season for a month no big trips to Usa, Australia etc go to Austria/Switzerland couple of friendlies ...bang season starts 99% will be fit ready to go...Forget Euros have a world cup as it is every 4 years qualifiers to take place over the 3 years instead of meaningless friendlies , easy job done get me to FIFA to take over!!!
The season ends when the f.a cup final ends. Until then players are obliged to be willing to play any game the club tells them to.
What do you want clubs to do if ffp won't let you spend. Got to generate money to buy players even if your club has money.
Tripper is playing with his wages and go sit in the sun with Ben brown 😄
This show pretends that Jordan was an owner like Abramovich or John Henry. When he owned Palace they were in the Championship, they didn’t have this problem.
Money talks💰💰
Money talks and reason walks.
Simon keeps saying the biggest beneficiary is the players. Its not. It's the owners.
Fans don't pay to watch owners.
They pay yo watch the players.
Owners piggy back of the players to get billion dollar valuations on their clubs for doing sweet f.a.
Fans pay to watch the outcome of owners choices. You'd pay to watch whatever 11 players the owner of your club decides to buy with the money you pay to the club, not to the players. Owners profit for doing nothing but giving you a team to support. And you think they are irrelevant? 😂 Sorry comrade that's not how the world works
Martin O'Neill is so pedantic isn't he?!
Tripper speaks out and gets injured and now misses the euros
