Question. Do you get better results as far as IQ goes by having the Mitty that far away from the Raynox? My setup has the Mitty attached to the Raynox. Nice setup, by the way!
To get the 10x magnification specified by the MItty you need to have it placed 205mm from the relay lens. However if you place it closer aproximately 145 mm as I show in the first part of the video you will get around 8.5x magnification but it is sharper than if paced at 205mm. Here you can find some first photos taken with that setup: www.flickr.com/photos/184578822@N03/with/51219700207/ Also you may have a look at my other channel if you like, here most of the time I`m using a combination of Loawa lenses to get the zooming effect: ruclips.net/channel/UC_03GLtJVTUDaaCOq_7phpwvideos
@@grodz437 Thanks, I`v build a very specalized macro rig that automates stacking of subject from different angles making such videos possible without a lot of tedious manual work. I am still in the initial stages of exploring what this project is capable of. I will be posting some videos of this rig in action soon with the hope of getting somebody interesed to follow my channels.
I did the baffles painted with non rflective paint instead of using the flocking material as the flocking material sheds and would be a nightmare to clean out if you ask me
Hello there, The set-up looks superb. I really like it! I would like to ask you, why do you attach a 145mm or 205 mm tube lenght for the objective if you´re using an APS-C camera sensor? Do I need a 160 mm tube lenght for my Lomo 3.7X on my M 4/3 camera to achieve the 3.7X or it´s enough with only 80mm lenght due the multiply sensor factor? Thanks a lot!!!!
Thanks Lomo 3.7x objective needs a finite tube setup without a relay lens. I have another video on my channel with using a finite 4x objective. Have a look at it, I am not really sure if you need to shorten the tube a bit to compensate for the 4/3 sensor. Just experiment and find a sweet spot first
The parts look really nice, where did you get them from. I have Mitutoyo, I have, Raynox, just missing the tubes and proper threads to connect them together. Thanks a lot.
can someone clarify me the difference between a tube lens and some regular bi convex lens ? I'm having so much trouble finding why should I replace the lens we use in our lab with a "proper" tube lens. thanks
The red piece in the design you mean? It is this one below with the end machine leveled www.aliexpress.com/item/32700202758.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dJTM1sH

It is all machined. I have pictures of it if you whant but you have to find someone or do them yourself if you have a lathe.
I just don't see the point of all that effort and work to craft that setup and then have no ability to refine/adjust focus of the tube lens. I have yet to use or see a tube lens setup where fine adjustment of focus of the tube lens was not critical.

Why do you have the Raynox lens reversed?
Isn't it necessary to flock the inside tube with flocking material (velvet?) for better results?

Hi, which software did you show in the begining of the video?
Rhino3d, it is a nice piece of software, I love it

Tubes lenses go with infinity corrected microscope objectives.
Where did you get the long length sony mount extension tube from please?

I like to build things myself. What can I do!
yo can you show us the immiges? and is there a cad file for this you could share? i wanna 3d print it
Can you sell them tubes? I have 6400 as well
No sorry, I custom made it
You said you custom machined the tube. Would you be interested in taking an order for one? Do you have an IG account?
