10:11 just when you think that Dave no longer can surprise you - that's just what he does. That control with double bass and shots right there is out of this world! Anyone playing drums understand how incredibly difficult it is to achieve that.

You can still see the old Dave in his playing...the technical monster, but my goodness he has become so damn musical over the years! The man has forgotten more about drumming that I'll ever know! One of the greats, no question about it!

Those AC 30s sound great .
The drummer is at a completely different level then the rest of the band. They were vise to leave the stage. Weckl is beyond.
It's incredible that one of the greatest drummers sucking air today plays to a room of maybe 200 people when girls who just shake their ass and don't even write their own music fill stadiums.

Mate go check out imperial strut by the yellow jackets, he plays the bass in that band and the bass-line in that song is so ridiculous.

the little built up groove that starts a little over 7:00 minute toa little into 8:00's is just f-n funk nasty.. and then gets just absurd haha
wowww...sound´s like a seventies solo at times...I listened to rock and roll(zeppelin) at first hahaha weckl the boss!

better be careful....i posted a video i took of weckl's solo here in nashville a few weeks back. he flagged the video as "copyright infringement" and forced me to take it down...which put limitations on my youtube account.
+andrew timothy I don't think he has an issue with this one especially since I spoke with him after the show, and because this is a cover tune, not one of his originals he doesn't hold a copyright claim on the song.

pretty humbling musicians at this level are playing for some dinner guests type gig. mucho respect, but i think we all want these guys to live very comfortably for their musical contributions w/o having to sell products, do clinics, etc to make ends meet. Bieber and the others who are hack artists living off pretty faces and teenagers need to cop these guys a million bones just for being great!
It's really amazing that we get to see the caliber of players in the Jazz Kitchen that we do. There isn't a bad seat in the house, and there's always an opportunity to interact with the artists after the show.
Jeff Porcaro Groove the price of doing what you love? Small price I think. Fun=priceless ..btw, these guys are not poor:) all three are doing well(and work for it)
That's the life dude. You've seen the movie Bird about Charlie Parker? There's a scene where he and his band are packed into a car heading to a gig somewhere, among the passengers was Elvin Jones. Those guys did exactly that, night after night.
@@guitarontheflipside596 They do play all over the world. Add to that virtual lessons, workshop appearances and so on and you can make a good living. You do work for it right enough, but better busting your hump doing something worthwhile that you love.

Love David's playing and always have. The solo though, although incredible swayed away too much away from the tune they were playing.
Haslip looks bored out of his brains. Maybe he's upset at the demise of Holdsworth
