    Nice work Euan, if that’s the amount of work you’re putting into a mudguard mount then this machine is gonna be a stunner.
    I’m glad you’ve invited us all along for the journey.

    Thumbs up before watching. Delighted you're back on the XJR regularly. I've two of them. One 2000 sp version which is totally standard and a 2001 sp which was crashed and I'm hoping to modify and rebuild this winter.

    Love the XJR, and loving the Tig welding, your not only learning your inspiring people!! Because of this channel, I own a Lathe, Pillar Drill, bench grinder and Mig welder, the Tig is on the list along with the Shoogly T-shirt and My own skills are slowly developing . keep up the good work

    Brilliant work Euan, great to see your progress with the AC/DC tig machine for the aluminium welding, looks to be a handy addition to the workshop for sure. Like this method of mounting, very sleek and likely sturdy.
    It May be worth using some nordlock washers when you bolt the final thing together, as unsure how strong the aluminium threads will be over time, I guess threadlock will also work. 👍👍

      Aye I had planned on a butt-load of threadlock on final assembly. But we'll find out when my mudguard flies off 😂

    to fill an aluminium hole you need a block of brass underneath to hold the molten aluminium from dropping out of the picture

    You need a milling machine that would bring things like this to the next level 👍👍

      I do actually have access to one. But yes... one in the shed would be nice too!

    Shoogly Puss needs her own channel, so cute! Just our of interest what are you going to do with the front mudguard mounting lugs that are now redundant, chop off or leave and use for something else? Hitting 30 and wondering where your energy has gone, what to you hit 60!

      She's great isn't she?!
      I'll likely lop them off and smooth them down 👍🏻

    daft question, but why is the middle part of the brace removable?

    • @ShooglyShedMotors
      @ShooglyShedMotors  Год назад +1

      I wondered this myself! Maybe the manufacturer uses the clamps but different middle sections for different bikes. I'm not sure!

      @@ShooglyShedMotorsI think you're right--they could use the same clamps with different length middle braces and/or different designs (like the XJR design on yours)

    You think it's bad when you hit 30? I don't think I have good news for you... 😛
