My uncle, may he Rest in Peace, Boris Eliosov was an IM. He was so confident, he didn't care enough about ELO ratings or becoming a GM. He played together Kasparov in a youth chess group in the USSR. He showed me his own lines and creations, he got me into chess. I think he topped out at 2500 ELO but I saw much higher numbers in various blitz games. He taught at Iowa State briefly, and was asked by a fellow professor to teach his son. He became #1 in his age group in under a year. I wish my uncle had a chance to play with Magnus today.

"My game against kasparov in 2004 when i was 13 is a prime example of my lack of confidence at that time.
Naturally he was a much, much stronger player than i was back then.
There was no doubt about that, but in that particular game if i had actually believed very seriously that i could beat Kasparov, then i probably would have managed.
But when i was 16, 17 years old, i got into the level where there was no higher level i was, i was playing against the best players in the world, and i discovered very, very quickly that in order to not just draw them, but to beat them, you have to have the beliefthat, hmm, you know, you can competewith, uhn, with, with, anybody.
And that was the firsttime i reallyfound that. And within a few years, i was completely convinced, rightly or not that i was the the man, that i was the best."

There is no play against stockfish. It's just not physically possible, it's only gonna get better. It's like asking a human to compete with a car, it's dumb, magnus ain't winning and so does anyone else in past, future or present.
Magnus himself is a prodigy in terms of memory. His intuition is nothing more than what he remembers from different games and he would still lose. No wonder, the competition in chess dwindled.

And it's not anime where you keep improving and becomes a super computer himself. He can't even get close to a computer in terms of calculation, no one can. That's the whole reason, computers were made. Even if he plays for 100 years in prime condition he won't beat stockfish. Human brain has limits dude just like our physical capabilities
