I rode a Bike to Mexico from the He Sapa, when I got into Yellowstone, I was near the Waters, beautiful secluded place away from people and tourists, they say 90% of Yellowstone isn’t seen by tourists, just those roads they’re on. I went to a space undisturbed on the Bicycle, I was admiring the beauty and pure ness, all of a sudden I hear a loud Thud hit the ground, I turned around and a Buffalo scurried up a trail away from me lol, it felt like he was taking in that Pureness with me, admiring me admiring everything after I recall the moment in hindsight, and it felt like he fell from the sky lol, later that day, I go to the West of the Forests, I notice a huge mountain, looking like a bear at the angle I was, the bear looked like it was laying on its belly watching the sunset, I snapped a picture for proof, it’s really cool. On the last day after checking out the Volcanic activities I had a dream before, a thunder and lighting dream. In the dream, out of a Canyon, Tatanka Ska in the shape of a Tornado had come out of the Canyon, huge, as I look in its eyes, lightning had flashed making its horns. Later that year after riding my bike all that way, I looked into my ancestry some more, I found out DuBrays come from an old Lakota Chief Wearer named Fast Whirlwind, he helped appoint Crazy Horse and had been a leader along with Smoke among the Oglalas. I also found out his daughter Millicent (Mila Sa Win- Americanized) had children for Elbridge Gerry the 3rd, an American Founding Father during the time of the Treaties. I found out so much, Gerry was coming from Massachusetts trading with Lakotas Guns for Buffalo and their beautiful works. But He went overboard with 7 wives so the daughter of Fast Whirlwind left him with a man named John DuBray back to Red Cloud Agency and her Oglala people. Her children adopted the name DuBray and this is our family history I can now tell.

Beautiful Sharing! Thank You. You gave understanding of something that happened long decades ago. Our Sundance had never had Heyokas before. Just before entering our helper said " Be Strong" in our ear....be strong?? We didn't understand! And then we felt them change. The power was ....no words. Suddenly we felt our bodies moved and a Dakota woman said dig your big toe into Mother Earth and don't lift it when you dance. The women who could hear her stayed but rest of dancers were careening out of control everywhere...the singers drumming all erratic and too their voices. The People were laughing til they cried....we felt their tears cleansing not just their lives but Mother Earth as they fell. Laughter is cleansing.....Laughter is Healing.....I did not understand ...but I will Never Forget The Power we felt! We just had hail and a Loud Thunderstorm...I had just lite cedar/sage when I saw your video...the hail stopped...now I understand why the Tornado would lift up over the Sundance and come down on the other side...why we always had so much Cedar! Without your video...never would have understood.
wow! I listened to this last night about Wakinyan during a storm. this morning a turtle walked right past my backdoor and stopped and spend time looking eye to eye. we are building a pond but not there yet. I did find a puddle big enough for turtle to swim and submerge. thank you for this info.

And i came here and was given the gift of several stories!🙏 I am so greatful for this. And I didnt know about the burning of cedar. I am going to play this for my kids as my 25 year old daughter has always been shamed by employers and when she was in school for aleays wereing black and never looking people in the eyes. I always told her she didnt have to if she was not comfertable doing so and till she was an adult I wold scold them for shaming her. I've always been an outcast. I am a man and I can go to work and do everything expected of a man. But I can see pain in others and comfort them like a woman. I tell so many jokes with a straight face that nobody knows if I'm telling the truth. Usually I am. I only lie if it is a real joke. I've walked alone for 31 years and buried more family and friends than I can count. I've made music my whole life. I've learned more songs than most have heard and with the help of something else I've made more songs than most people understand. I don't understand what the hell I am. Maybe I misunderstood but I don't believe Heyoka are only males, maybe in Lakota but I definitely know that this is the path that I've been on without asking. Struck by lightning when I was 8 years old and no real damage done to me thankfully, and I have dreams of storms quite often, sometimes they terrify me, sometimes they chase.
My son had a calling a few days after Christmas. There was a bad storm with thunder and lightning. And he was staying at a hotel. He said he heard somebody knocking on the hotel door. Early hours he thought he dreamt the knocking Nobody there. I know the thunderbird is real Thanks for sharing....⚡️

I found a dog skull stuck between two trees, I took it to my tent and painted a red streak doun it's snout, I burned cedar and smudged it, I went to sleep and had a dream that I saw a huge frog roaring at the sky and out of his mouth there was seven other tongues each having a roaring mouth, then from the West came a massive Wakinyan out of its eyes lightning struck everything and everything became on fire, I awoke very sick, it took a while but I got better.

How are so many non Lakota folk being told that they are Heyoka or have awaked as heyoka. Y'all culture vultures need to stop scavenging the sacred.
That is quite the question. I am white, still they are not my people. Some are awakened to it. Church first took our roots. There is not much left on the path. So Heyoka might be the closest explanation which can be found to understand themselves and their path.

I want to say Aho! and tell you what a blessing this was to my spirit as I journey on my path. I am a shamanic student and have had many encounters with Native American spirit elders and life changing experiences while journeying or praying and often dreams of a native American child who is a guide for me. A lot of new age non natives say they're Heyoka in recent years, I have no idea why but I've definitely noticed a trend. Just type in the word heyoka to RUclips or other social media and it's almost never about Lakota beliefs but instead weird hippie crap.

I'm kinda curious, also...admittedly, baffled. Why would there be a "Path" For Heyoka to follow? Are we not the Trickster Gods who defy the so-called beaten norms? Do we not go by our own beat?
