Championships are won are your bad days. Id say deegan did a great job salvaging his bad day.
Absolutely, he just seemed a bit off to me. That crash didn't help but neither did stalling his bike. But, still not a "bad" day, especially when you consider that crash could have been a lot worse.
@@Bryan-jd7osy’all get a room😂. Zip his pants up when your done
@@skylineenduro absolutely.
Did Hymus outlast Deegan ?? Deegan wrecked and Hymus did'nt !!! WTF are you saying
Clickbait
Press Pass Cooksey! You need to stop talking like a d-bag, cutting everyone down and acting like a walking depression pill. Then you would know these things!
He wants Deegan to lose on the slick so he can say "I was right about him"
Well technically yes. Deegs crashed and Hymas didn’t therefore Hymas outlasted Deegs.
@@k____b had that crash been haidens fault you’d have a point
Deegan took that over the bars like a champ. He’s like rubber and tough as it gets. Let the haters hate, they just wish they were him and had an incredible work ethic. Kid is more disciplined than 99.9% of people, that’s why he wins.
to get up after that crash was impressive enough let alone jump back on the bike and finish the race; no doubt about it, the boy is tough and has a fierce determination to be there at the end of the season.
He's so used to flipping and landing in water. This was routine for him. Got right up and ran back to the bike. Incredible. He wouldn't have done much better moto 2 however.
I didn't realize he was that close to Tom and TM definitely would have ran them down at that pace.
@@steves5632agree , feel like he could have really mixed up the standings battling Tom and Ty close ahead.
@@vintagemxer9165 landing on the ground is a bit different to landing in water though; i think Hayden has just been lucky with his 'landings' so far; if he keeps on having these crashes it's only a matter of time before he doesn't get back up in a hurry; i agree, i don't think he would of made a charge in the 2nd moto even without the crash; he should of settled for 2nd in the first moto but his ego got the better of him.
Moto 1 250's was one of the best races I've ever seen in my 48 years
how can you not have a flagger watching the blind side of a jump???!!! Disgusting!!
JS is now way better in the booth than RC... took JS a few months to get the groove, but now he is gold on the broadcasts.
Agreed. JS wasn't great in the '22 MX season the few times I heard him, but he has def improved to the point of being enjoyable.
Not a bad day when you get through another weekend and the points lead stays exactly the same. Its still more fun watching him ride the wheels off it.
I see all you degan fanboys saying that lol. Y’all are like main stream media all barking the same degan talking points😂 pathetic. You got beat straight up.
You are SO right about RC on announcing. He drives me crazy!!
We started a drinking came, everytime RC said "The reason i say that is because & the reason that happen is " we take a drink. Yeah we missed the whole race LOLOL😛
Got a good break during 450s, so odd they decided to take multiple breaks during the race lol
@@winzlow125 isn't it great to just listen to the bikes and the throttle control without all the noise coming from the hole under the noses of commentators....most of the time i'm way ahead of the timing and passes being made by the announcers anyway....then they do a replay so they can catch up...annoying!
That sounds like fun. It should be on that gambling site Cooksey pushes all the time. I would actually bet on that.

the camera operators seem to have lost the plot as well....good close racing at the pointy end where a pass is likely at any given moment and they go back to someone in tenth to tell us how great his season has been......then there's been a change of position at the front that never gets shown; sure, if the leaders are spaced out by 10 seconds or more, give the top 20 guys a bit of air time as it helps keep the sponsors and riders interested but when the action out front is fast and furious, let us keep watching the best go at it.
Honestly. It’s wild he wadded like that and still finished where he did. His “bad” day is because a bike is done and he lands on it. Goodness.
He was having a bad moto even before he landed on the bike. Outside the top 5 and not closing.

I was standing right there. That flagger was stuck on stop on stupid for at least 4 seconds. These flaggers look like they have never raced
Same thing happened last race when Jalek Swoll’s bike died at SouthWick flagger had no idea what to do to the point another guy took his flag and did his job for him 🤦🏾♂️
It's almost like they're afraid or they're deer in the Headlights
Totally unacceptable to not have flaggers respond within seconds, guy on four wheeler had to tell him to put out yellow which should of been a cross flag to stop jumping. should have two flaggers at every blind jump landing.
I agree on a jump they should have two Flaggers
Ricky fumbles his words every sentence. Ty masteralle… Justin cooper is sneaky fast he’s having a great sneason. The reason I say this is. lol it gets worse every weekend I think he’s doing it on purpose at this point
He gets halfway through a sentence, and then repeats it from the beginning finishing his thought ( if you know what - if you know what I mean )
& said wuff instead of rough
That view of Deegans crash is gnarly, hes lucky he isnt hurt bad. This flagger issue needs to be resolved. This is absolutely insane.
the AMA is too busy checking privateer's bike's sound level so they don't overshadow the star's fastest times.
So I think I heard it only 4 times this week that RC loves the drone shots that “really provides a great perspective”. Thinking next race we take a shot every time he says something about the drone shot.
You would be wasted early… 🤣🤣 I really wish they would just put JT in the booth if James can't make it.

@@Beastmode-38 who's the 2024 supercross east champion? I'll wait...
Back in the day I was a flagger for the SCCA and IMSA. We were told from the get-go that if we ever wanted to see piss poor flagging just turn on the TV and watch any AMA event. It was pretty much a inside joke about how poor the flagging was at any motorcycle event, particularly Motocross and supercross. They could easily get flaggers from the auto racing side of the sport if they'd make the effort. They'd be trained and competent. Then you could start punishing people who ignore blue flags etc
Carmichael is terrible. I don’t know how an objective person who produces broadcasts could employ him. Best part of the broadcast was when they would go to commercial and you could watch with no commentary by anyone.
Cooksey! I was at Red Bud and was on the hill side where Deegan waded. The whole crowd was yelling at the flagger and the guy who crashed first panic revved and the flagger was still clueless after all this. Just wanted to give you some more info on that situation.
One of the local heroes landed on a kid down on a blind jump at a new track in our area due to poor or no flagging. The kid died and the guy that landed on him left the sport due to emotional trauma.
I have heard this same story before only 40 years ago and kids were riding backwards on the A track guy sent the big jump and landed on the kids head snapped his neck. it happens more than we think.
Kid at my local track today OJd a triple and swapped out in the pocket and slammed super hard into the face of a double. Kid wasn’t moving for a solid 5 minutes and the flaggers or medical staff didn’t do anything for a while. Some kid ran from the start gates all the way to the other side of the track and got there before the yellow flag came out and the medics got to him. It was such bs
@@crashalexander7232 when I used to race in early 2000’s there was a death at a local track every week it seemed. You’re right you won’t hear about 90% of them. Dangerous hobby! But worry every second 🫡
We've had 3 deaths locally in the last few months. I'm sitting here with a broken shoulder and a few other injuries right now. This is a sport, not a game.
STOP INTERVIEWING AT THE GATE!!!!
+ stop doing a HOLESHOT REPLAY at the end of the race in the last couple of laps when its getting close.
From coverage to safety, every weekend this sport does something to embarrass itself.
The dude crashes and lays out on side of track then Deegan crashes 100 times worse into the dudes bike and gets straight back on it, Deegan made of much much more sterner stuff 💪
not necessarily....i've had big crashes where i jump straight back up and get back on the bike and other 'smaller' crashes where i need to lay down for 5 minutes....it's not (always) the speed that hurts...its the position we land in at the sudden stop.
When Ricky said I won’t speculate on that I literally laughed out loud lol. Then in 450 moto 2 with like 6 or 7 minutes left he went on a huge rant about how he had more bad days than good, Jason changed the subject then Ricky brought it right back up. I was like wtf is going on lol
I agree, Ricky is trash. BUT, I'd rather have Ricky than James. James can't even get the riders names right. And honestly that pisses me off more than Ricky being too dumb to know what it going on
The past few weekends were amazing without Ricky. When I heard him I was like WHYYYY?
MXS doesnt even need to pay more for Flaggers...So simple just require Tracks to provide flaggers on top of your currents ones in their yearly bids to host a National. Local riders would line up if their Local tracks asked them to Flag for them in exchange for various Track benefits.
It really is that simple
Good idea
That’s what I did for the mint 400 flagged for the best seats in the house
First off I just want to say, I really enjoy your video's. With comments about the flagging issue. Here in Canada we actually pay our flagger's at our local race's and our National series. And the club's pay them 100+ per day. So I hear you about the flagging issue. Keep exposing the CORRUPT people of motocross.
When I was watching the race i realized the issue with lappers is actually that there wasn't enough flaggers to notify them!!!
Super pumped for Chance Hymas getting the overall, but Ty Masterpool emptying the tank after moto 1 was really evident to how he performed towards the end; luckily Ty didn't have to worry about Deegan.
That crash from Deegan is a sign that we got average joes as flaggers. As I said before, if Duke Finch were still AMA Manager, he'd be puking his lungs out at how the flagging there was handled. If the flagger has to go onto the track to protect the rider, then so be it! How can they not know that???
Good stuff as usual, Cooksey!
Guy’s let me add some more on Ricky! He’s an embarrassment as a sports announcer ! Please
James is soooooo much better!
Nice Vid Cooksey!! I agree 100% about the flaggers. Being a MX racer/rider for over 40 years (only made a level not pro) these guys are going fast and the obsiticals are getting ridiculous. This is a "Professional" sport!!!! We need Professional flaggers!! and updated rider warning features, ie; red/yellow lights etc. Deegs is very fortunate that he was not injured, and the rider that caused that also fortunate he wasn't hit.......
Sorry RC, the announcing is awful.
Shimoda "eased up"? 3 corners from the end, he was on Hyma's rear wheel. He gave it to much throttle and lost traction. He definitely was trying to win.
Chance’s wheelie then hop down the hill was smooth as butter. Where has Stewart been. I missed him on the broadcast and his race review podcast. What about the Ausie that was up from in the 450 second moto. Isn’t that the team mate for the de nations with the Lawrence boys?

Deegan was about to close down fifth and until the crash. That’s all he really needed to still be solid. And the crash alone is wild that he hopped right up and ran to the bike! Hunter and smith did not have that same response on their falls
Kid is a savage!
Ricky ‘No Speculation’ Carmichael. That’s part of his job, and he constantly sidesteps it each and every race 😝
I always knew chase was going to take this on
I can't belive how much people souport the austries and not our boys from home like chase
I'm very happy to see him on top
Carnage all over the track and no reports on the live broadcast ! An awesome top ten ride by a rider from outside the normal field and we hardly see or hear anything about him after a few laps. We learned of high pulse rates, but watched a zoomed in Lorocco’s leap that looked like a pit bike jump on TV. It’s also comforting to hear Will’s exceptionally long winded “reports” that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual race. Every time she talks, something happen’s in the race and we miss key passes or significant changes in rider positions and she keeps going and going. Ricky is getting worse, if that’s even possible. The flagger situation is terrible and the beat goes on ……..
I do not hammer Will and her analysis; while I see your point, unlike RC, she is a nice person.

Whatever happened to kidney belts? Even in my prime, I wouldn't even think about getting on my bike without one because my insides would've become a pile of mush by the end of the day.
Some of us old guys still wear them. Although I did 50 miles a couple weeks ago without and was fine.
Good review. I love RC, but he deserves an award for saying dumb stuff. Maybe call it the Kamala Harris Speaker's Award! haha
RC is soooo painful…..Thank goodness for the Mute button. It’s bad when the Wifey says “That announcer is annoying”…

I'm sure you remember what happened to Alssie a few years ago he was out cold and was landed on 6 times and the flaggers were nowhere to be seen.
The reason I say that is blah blah blah.
Kept saying that, yikes.
You are right about the problems with flaggers. At the very least, they should be trained and certified as a flagger. I also believe that paid flaggers would improve the safety as we would likely have a better quality of workers people who take the job seriously. I also agree that someone will likely get hurt badly unless this issue is resolved. Chance Hymas also missed the Red Cross flag. A rookie mistake? Maybe. Technology such as flashers would also be helpful.
That man is made of steel
...and rubber! Glad he wasn't hurt bad, tired of injuries taking people out.
Absolutely agree on safety and flagging. It would be easy to have those remote controlled.
They need to focus on flagging and not sound and politics period
Ricky Biden killing it in the booth. They need a title sponsor for the flaggers like the medical crew
The flagging was definitely looking Suspect at RedBud. I was shocked that not a mention of Mike Healey passing away, this guy was outkasted by the AMA, FIM and KTM, after his career ended his mental health spiralled and there was no support from the organisations he rode with, and the brands he helped build.. I tore mune early in our local MX racing, doctor drained the blood out of my knee got a CTI knee brace and No issues rest of the season. Did get it operated on after season ended. Did the Cadiver craft option cause its quicker healing time. Only missed 4 weeks of work. Only people whi actually need the hamstring ACL replacement are athletes that do a lit of stop and go movements like basketball and football players. Just a stability ligament for fwd and back motion. MCL for side to side
RC is bad. Wish JS7 was full time. RC talking about how he had more bad days than good days LOL 120% WTF
I don’t think Deegan was gassed. I think he just wasn’t gelling with the track for whatever reason. But I don’t think he was fatigued. He didn’t fade he just didn’t move up like he normally has been doing. Feels like someone is drama mining to me.
Cause he crashed
Technically, Deegan rode for longer so that's what outlasting means. I think yu mean deegan got screwed and took it like a champ
RC saying "the reason I say that" drives me crazy! So bad.

that "second wind" in moto 2 for Hymas was in fact a micro dose of ped's in his system... doctor G with his magic hands
They should have a lighting system instead of flaggers it would let riders know way faster when someone is down. Blinking colored lights with several personnel with remotes.
there should be both lights and flaggers....lights or remotes can and do fail; flaggers can and do fail.
Deegans second moto was the result of a bad start and a lapper going down in front of him. He was on the move when he landed on that downed lappers bike.
Kenworthys in OH had our dojo volunteer to flag the whole track....They also had others... 4H and more. The AMA did it on Pro day. We did a better job. We all got free tickets for the whole weekend.
How do we continue to have these flagging issues. Its not like this is the first year of racing. Maybe the organizers should be penalized and proceeds given to riders affected. Bet you would see some changes then. 🤔
Danm did not see that head on angle of Reagan’s crash. It’s wild there was no coverage of it on the broadcast.
During the 450 first moto RC kept saying that time was running out for anyone to make a move with 15 to 16 minutes left in the moto and then made the same comment with close to 10 minutes left in the moto. Then in the 250 moto 2 with 4 or 5 minutes made the comment that there was a long time for Chance to hang on.
From the angle I saw, it looks like it took the flaggers 13-15 seconds to get the yellow flag out.
That yellow flag that wasn't, imo, should have been a red cross flag.

Hymas did not outlast Deagan, but he rode well. Until the crash he was catching them. First moto just needed an extra lap.
Multiple incidents where the flaggers are standing in a blind spot to the riders.
correct; flaggers should be on the outside exit of corners, inside entry to corners and on the top of jumps near the down ramp area at bare minimum; flaggers also need to be trained not to watch on-coming traffic like they are obviously doing; they aren't there to be spectators.

If thats a bad day im sure deegan will take that. Bad flagging caused him to crash
Ricky was fine on Race day live and what I mean by that is, lol .
to your point, i'd have to - i'd have to agree
That could have ended DAnger's career. It cost him the podium which is $30k+ they cost him. They need to only hire flaggers with Pro, A, or B class racing experience and a short training. Supply an umbrella or build a little overhang for shade in sunny spots... And get them off their ass out on the track to protect racers from going over blind spots into pileups. It could kill a downed rider... Way too much money in this sport for cutting those kind of corners. I burst my C1 in 1986 Mini O's in 125A Sx practice cause a sleeping flagger and I was wide open over a fast & out triple only to land in a pileup. I raced 4 days rubbing icey hot on my burst C1 getting 12th in Sx, 3rd in TT, 4th in first mx moto, and was 5th in second mx moto when I went numb and pulled off. I was FL 125A State Champ that yr, was almost 3rd overall in 125int that summer in Ponca with a 2-2 going into 3rd moto w Mike Craig & Denny Stephenson and in final moto I got clipped off start caught up from dead last to 3rd and bike seized after white flag and might of passed them both as I was a few sec a lap faster. So I was on couch a yr and off couch Jan 1988, I hopped on a Cagiva fill in ride for a day. I hadn't rode since Nov 1986. I ran a 5 lap practice session, then swept motos by a half a lap both motos in 1988 Gatorback Winter Am 125A - Glenn Somerville #798. Made only two pro sx main events I ever signed up for... 1988 Tpa 125 Pro Esx & Daytona 125 Pro Esx. But no sponsors wanted me after my C1... doctors didn't even want me out there. I quit after 11th at Daytona... They botched the records... I got the oversized $400 chk... either way, never dropped a gate again... This could have ended Danger's career. His dad needs to get Haiden $30k for missing the podium from DC.
Put flagmen on blind jumps and have them pay attention to riders LANDING. It is a simple fix.
I agree with you about Deegan, he was coming in that 2nd moto but he landed on that bike and it was over. I still can’t believe the broadcast, post race show said nothing about it….WTF Get some professional flaggers, damn, and I love your ideas. They can definitely do better!
They should have a tower with a Flagger next to every big jump or blind jump. Swan MX in Texas has them. You’d think the big factory teams would fork out the money for flagger’s. It’s in their best interest. Imagine the money Star Yamaha would have lost if Deegan had got hurt (and he probably is a little banged up). Everyone talks about growing the sport, but we don’t even have qualified people out there flagging the race. But a gear company will pay a rider a quarter million a year to wear their boots. You have to start at the bottom up if you want this sport to grow. Because right now the sport is like a crack head in a nice suit.
I agree with you on Ricky Carmichael. James Stewart is definitely a better commentator.
We need more Hooters girls running in front of the racers. That was special.
Gotta have sound test for safety / regulation but can’t get enough competent flaggers to keep stuff like this from happening? What the hell is going on
Agreed with cooksey they need flaggers. Professional flaggers. We did the same bullshit at arenacross. Hired people off the street who really didn't know how to flag. It's the series obligation to have quality flaggers who know thier shit Not cooksey medias job....but definitely a good talking point
The flagger situation is just not acceptable. Other sports have professionals working at each event. There is no excuse to not have a group that is trained and familiar with the sport. You want to grow you have to protect the riders. Forget growing the riders deserve at least to not have to guess about there safety each race.
Good answer . An mx park in australia has traffic lights at sections of the pro track
I would flag for free. Give me free entry, some shade and water im all in. At Washougal at least.
Hey Cooksey!!
Cant find the training requirements for Flaggers. Lots of us are still questioning the safety of riders.
Most flaggers are not up to par and truly have no clue when or where to start waiving even after being told when and where. Phucking ridiculous
Did Hymas outlast Deegan? This is how you lose credibility with me all the time. Deegan crashed because the flaggers weren’t there
Apparently Ole RC didn't go to school for being a analyst and broadcasting for the networks! I guess his championships got him him in the door,! Bubba does better IMO
Cooksey, not the holy grail of major NO-NO's, not something as simple as allowing two way communication between the riders & either the track officials or the racers own team DIRECTLY WARNING THEM that there is a downed rider over this jump or around this blind corner. The system could be set up WITH THE WARNING LAMP SYSTEM so that everyone in that section of the track will be seeing the flashing red lamps & HEARING WHATS UP (or who's down) right in their ear, BEFORE LAUNCHING & LANDING upon the pile of carnage, destruction & hopefully not DEATH!!!
Love it! Lets try something!!!
Cooksey has told us he doesn't like Hymas. Wonder if this Hymus guy is any better
As far as flaggers are concerned, was just putting thought to it as you were talking about the need for organization flaggers. There probably should dedicated yellow flaggers and then ones for blue and others. I noticed that the flagger for Deegan’s accident, appeared to not even have a yellow flag on the ready. He was more concerned with throwing the blue flag. He should have been at the top of that hill and only had the yellow flag in hand. Getting that yellow flag out as soon as an accident happens is way more important than telling a slower rider to get out the way.
If the riders get hurt, then no one will be riding.. Get the flaggers in there. Lights are whatF1 and Moto GP uses. Look at the example!!!
#38 Don't got a Chip', He just Rides Hard',,,,,,,
Still think haiden would have caught vialle if he didnt land on the bike, hymas had that moto all day though.
Hymas has improved a lot from last season esp his fading . Curious what his new diet is exactly.

If they had to hire & pay for flaggers that were pros & went with the show, DAVEY might have to lay off the guy that digs holes in his back yard to hide all of his & Rita's $$$$$ in & that guy has a family & is way more important than a lapper.
