My granny passed 23 yrs ago today and she would listen to this song and praise God while on her death bed. As I sit here and listen to it, I can't stop crying!! I love that holy spirit filled ending!! Boy, do I miss my granny!!!!

I like this song. I'm a pianist and singer and have sung it in churches. It's so great to know that we serve a God who is on the mountain and in the valley. I'm going through a valley in my life now, but I know God will bring me out.
I've, in the past 3 months, been going through the lowest part of my life. You see I lost my husband of 41 years to a sudden heart attack here at home. He stayed up half the night....he had insomnia really bad, so I had no idea that he had died around midnight....according to the coroner. I found him about 9:00 the next morning. To say I've been in shock would be an understatement. I've always loved this song and I've always laughed along with her when I'd listen to it! This time I cried all the way through it. I know God has been with me and will bring me through it!!! I just need continued prayers of his people! The joy of the Lord is my strength!!

I wrote (The) God On the Mountain (Is Still God In the Valley) in January of 1985. I had attended a youth retreat at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center the previous summer and it was a "mountain top" experience. My commitment had to be walked out when I returned home. My parents fought day and night during the month of January of 1985. It interfered with my ability to study and sleep. But I had to trust that even then God would see me through the darkness. And the fighting did stop in early February.
This was my mother’s favorite gospel group…she was at one of their concerts when she got very sick and ended up in the hospital..She had a gall bladder attack at the concert, rushed to hospital, emergency surgery, to save her life..found out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and only lived another 7 months..but listened to the McKameys all the time until she passed away.She was at their concert on the night of November 6th or 7th of 1988, the same year they recorded this live record. My mother passed in June of 1988. I am so glad she got to see them in person!

I wrote (The) God On the Mountain (Is Still God In the Valley) in January of 1985. I had attended a youth retreat at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center the previous summer and it was a "mountain top" experience. My commitment had to be walked out when I returned home. My parents fought day and night during the month of January of 1985. It interfered with my ability to study and sleep. But I had to trust that even then God would see me through the darkness. And the fighting did stop in early February.
This was my mother’s favorite gospel group…she was at one of their concerts when she got very sick and ended up in the hospital..She had a gall bladder attack at the concert, rushed to hospital, emergency surgery, to save her life..found out she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and only lived another 7 months..but listened to the McKameys all the time until she passed away.She was at their concert on the night of November 6th or 7th of 1988, the same year they recorded this live record. My mother passed in June of 1988. I am so glad she got to see them in person!
