Okay, guess I'm gonna have to explain to the uninitiated about the Party Crashers deal.
So, Brent (aka King of Skill), released a video where they played Mario Party 1v3, one player has max handicap, everyone else has to force them into dead last.
The last few turns, one of the 3, Vernias, staked their win on a Chance Time. After a few seconds of tense counting, he gets the timing and forces the "raid boss" (Brent) to give up his last stars.
Everyone was just freaking out, knowing they've won, and Brent's last chance for a Chance Time to turn the game around (he needed to roll a 2 or 3 to land on a Chance Time space) backfired horribly, rolling a 10.
Goddess in Shadow was playing during this entire scenario.
Personally, I found this track first THEN found out it got used in a Party Crashers video.

I got swarmed so much in this fight. You’re getting flanked constantly. Really shows how it’s the last big defense.
ONE OF THE MOST STRESSFUL FE BATTLES OF MY LIFEEE
Veyle and the vein of fog was holding my group together by a THREAD outside Lumera’s room while I sent just Merrin and Alear in.
Hoping that maybe if i went in the reinforcements would stop or at least they could kill Lumera
It was a NIGHTMARE regardless
I did turtle so long they eventually stopped but Merrin and Alear had to solo Lumera regardless
Chapter 25 definitely becomes much easier playing fairly aggressively, I ended turn 10 on maddening which was just before the lower reinforcements could catch up to the central room and with barely enough time to warp 2 spare units to the chests before I rushed Lumera.
Emblem Alear giving reliable avoid and great stats was definitely what powered me through the early turns on the left side, right ended up being far more dangerous so on my 2nd attempt I moved all my beefy units there + a silence user to shut up that entrap mage, hoped for the best and it turned out pretty successful.
you could cheese this map with a t urn 1 warp or what i enjoy doing more was getting the wyrms to block the thieves from opening the doors. When i noticed that it cracked me up and had to do it. Those no exp reinforcements can suck it
I brought 4 people to the fight and of course Alear was forced. Alcryst, Yunaka and Veyle literally all had max stats, full SP and skills on Hard Classic, Alear however was only like middling to low 30s in the important stats as a Paladin and keeping this dude alive while trying to go for the left chest was stressful. I whipped out everything I could, Alcryst clones, warp ragnaroking to block an enemy from hitting him, corrin fog, unequipping him entirely to not get doubled for the K.O, making him chip to repo away and then taking his weapon back off him, convoying an HP tonic in one round, convoying elixirs. The damn waves never stopped. Eventually after suffering near 20 turns of endless reinforcements I decided to pull the failsafe and snipe Lumera and then repo Yunaka within override range to kill her last health bar. I lost the item, and now I know since I made a separate save to try again, to bring the entire squad. This was at 11 pm at night and it took near two hours of trying to get myself out of the shitty situation doing anything I could before I decided to pull the trigger and just finish the game before I needed to sleep.
10/10 would love to do again. This is the strategy levels I like to be at with Fire Emblem, and although it was pretty bullshit, at least it wasn't STRs.

Honestly Lumera in this game is how Mikoto should have been handled in Fates Revelations. I see many parallels between Mikoto and Lumera in how they where implemented in the Story in later chapters. Also Sombron and Anankos have at the end of their story and how they go out similarities.
And while I find her parallels with Alear in the story to be a nice touch, I still don’t like the ‘parent dies at the start of a FE’ trope…
At least Lumera had more to her than just being the dead parent
She was prevalent throughout the story in a meaningful way we got some really good backstory on her near the end

I didn't see the trailer when she died, so I didn't know she would die. When she did, I was shocked.
Then came Chapter 25. Mad at Sombron for reviving her and using her desires of her dear child to his advantage. The end of that chapter was bittersweet and loose ends were tied just right.
I guess when parents die there is that sense that the child has no choice to grow up and no longer depend on the parent for doing things, that includes making mistakes. And yeah it is overused everywhere and not just in fire emblem lmao.

After Rhea thoroughly traumatized me in Three Houses, I'll admit, the second I saw Lumera, I was side-eyeing her just because she was a big titty dragon mommy character and it SEEMED like there were plenty of parallels... so it was a nice and pleasant surprise to me that Lumera genuinely was just a Good Mom

This map on maddening...was literally maddening. At one point, I was in that center hallway, and it was a "Fuck it...can't do this" and just bumrushed through to prevent being overtaken. Was some epic stuff having 3/4ths of the army hanging back and holding onto dear life with like 40 enemies swarming that room with Thorons, Spears, Tomahawks, brutal chokepoint with only like 3 safe squares for 14 units
I salute you for actually managing to complete this map on Maddening with 14 units. I was personally forced to say fuck it and do it with five after something like 5~6 failed attempts. God this map gives me chills.
@@Alexdlegend Yeah, it took a few retries, but I was well over an hour into the map and was like "Nah...I think there's a way" lol. I tried to clear the first wave, and throw my mages on the 2nd rank to bait the spear and tomahawk users up, then it was just hold onto dear life while Amber, Veyle, Alear, and Mauvier with a physic rod do everything humanly possible against her and those stupid ass mages and wyrms near her. Easily one of my all time favorite gaming moments
Mad respects. I only cleared this map because I said fuck it and used michia rewarp to only focus on one side of the map, then using thoran to clear out any stragglers I could. Fun fact the reinforcements stop at around turn 70.

I know people like to pile on the story but idgaf Alear's dialogue against Lumera with this playing on the background gave me goosebumps.
I thought the game was INCREDIBLE for a simple story.
The voice acting literally brought me to tears a couple times too, it was almost painful to watch the cutscenes where you *spoilers*
Lost Lumera the first time, watched Zephia and Griss hold hands as they died, and killed Lumera at the end.
@@Montagafy Oh i cried too. I love the game for exactly the same reason as you as well, it's such a simple story but one that really makes you miss it when it's over.
I cried at the end of this chapter with lumera dying for the second time (that pinky promise call back went hard, great writing imo) and in the credits 'cause it hit me with the post videogame depression.
For sure, the story's goofy as hell but Ch25 absolutely hits the mark in my book. The pre-battle conversation between Alear and Lumera was fantastic, the way the music slowly ramps up as Alear comes to understand what needs to be done... fucking loved it.

Literally was down to my last unit’s action before a lot of people were gonna die but somehow I cleared it on hard with no deaths…
My severely underleveled Alfred ended up biting it but i was SHOCKED that’s all i ended up losing on hard mode

It's fascinating reading others' accounts of how this chapter went down- I had a pretty easy time with it (Hard Classic), since I noticed the stairs (or weird floor grates, as the case may be) during prep and realized I needed to be timely (I learned this lesson the hard way back in... what, chapter 21? The one where you fight Veyle and her infinite reinforcements). And then when the reinforcements arrived, they weren't really a problem; the dudes at the bottom of the map were scary, sure, but they had no chance of catching up. My units had also been snowballing for the better part of the lategame, since I'd finalized my team and done all but one paralogue, which I think made a lot of chapters easier than they were 'supposed' to be.
Yeah this is exactly like my experience as well. The game have been conditioning you toplay aggressive up to this point that it just feels natural to me to play fast.
I'm quite surprised many people struggle on this map and saying it's the worst one of the game. For me one of my top 3 maps.
@@ranielle9271 depends on the difficulty as well mind you. for me on blind maddening, its very difficult to juggle the speed necessary while keeping your squishy units safe. Combined with the overall enhanced bulk enemies have (looking at 70+ HP across the board with 30 dmg per offensive unit) its incredibly hard to suddenly not be overwhelmed by turn 6-7. oh and entrap straight into boss room is not something that is very helpful either.
@@animedegenerate1437 Yeah in Maddening you kinda need to use many staves and Miciah's Aoe effect to play fast.

Finished my blind playthrough on maddening a few days ago....
This map had to have some of most intense moments period.
2 months after you, but I fully agree. Without Micaiah rescues to get my units in the same path on turn one, and Byleth's Goddess Dance to rush the boss as soon as I was in range, I would've been overwhelmed and lost nearly half my army in one turn. Definitely the most stressful map aside from maybe Chapter 17, but that one was just a massive difficulty spike rather than actually being overwhelming.
Goddess in Shadow, Falling Petals and Determined Journey were my favorite in the game.

Void curse reinforcements intensify

I think it is chapter 17. This map is just to easy to warpskip
Thank god I stacked up on heals/physics before this, even on normal I had to have Jade/Alfred/Diamat/Etie perform a rear guard action to hold off the reinforcements[made the mistake of assuming only 1-3 waves of reinforcements before I realized they weren't stopping] while my archers and casters picked off everyone in the last room before sending in Yunaka/Alear/Ivy to finish off the boss while Jean kept the rear guard alive and Chloe going around to heal anyone else.
NGL, I forgot about the time crystal for a long time due to being invested heavily in the moment and later thought it just wouldn't seem right to rewind this fight with the heavy emotions involved.
Also.....seeing the crit animation for this boss nearly gave me a heart attack before I realized it was only doing around 20 damage.....sighed with relief....then saw another crit animation with Alear Surviving with 1hp to finish off the boss with a crit of his own.....god I loved this chapter.
I was glad I had a stockpile of rescues and some and a bit of entrap.
This map was brutal.

It broke my heart having to fight Lumera
And The Sophisticated Society, TcCommunity, And The VernNation Watches as The Kingdom Of Skill Crumbles, Dethroning The King Of Skill For All Of Eternity…
I finally made it to Lumera today after about a week of attempts. I ran out of rewinds but seeing where I was, I wanted to at least make it to her. By the time I made it to her, almost my entire army was dead, and I knew I was not gonna win that battle. But I pushed through. Letting enemy phase play normally, this theme made it all more emotional, as the remaining few dodged and dodged and eventually fell. I managed to take out two health bars before Alear finally fell, and it was Lumera who dealt the final blow.
Edit: finally beat her by using Micaiah Warp shenanigans to get to the central chamber early. If the wyrms block the door, the thieves won’t be able to open the doors, but I took them out just to be safe. After enough reinforcements spawned in, they stopped due to not overloading the map, thus the central room and Lumera’s were perfectly clear, giving me the breathing room I needed.
The final stretch in the center hallway with like 20+ reinforcements behind you made Chapter 25 so damn stressful. I completed it on Hard Classic. I can't imagine how this must be on Maddening.
You know, I can play this chapter normaly... or I can just use the (re) warp staff !
It's actually stupidly easy. Alear with full avo and maxed out Corrin and you're literally an untouchable god that can dish out 10-100 damage a turn. Throw in a few more high avo tanks like Yunaka and you can easily abuse the fact maddening units wont even respond to you if they have 0% chance to hit you and they will waste their turns doing 0 dmg follow ups.
@@aikaserif the enemy has 0 hit on you then they wont target those units in maddening, their ai is alot better
@@blitz4779 The AI isn't that advanced that I would consider it "better." The maddening AI is stupid easy to abuse because of that. Yes they wont attack you with 0 Avo which is precisely why tanking this way works wonders if you isolate the groups. Then you spam fire on them for free damage while others can mop up very easily. However, this "issue" is severely negated as you go further in the story. Lots of enemies do chain attacks which they WILL still attempt to hit you even with 0 hit chance. Pair up negates this as you take 0 dmg from chains and gives you the ability to freely abuse them through counter attacks and fire spamming.
Doing this? it made a blind Maddening Classic run a complete joke. Alear essentially is an unstoppable god if built this way.
Also did you read my comment? I literally pointed out that the 100 avo tanks WON'T be targeted. This leaves them open to run past everything and take out key units. Wasting the turn refers to the fact that the AI doesn't register if you have Pair Up or not so they waste time trying to chain attack you anyways. This is more dangerous however to units without pair up as they will just die to the insane amount of chain attacks.
@@aikaser to my memory this room is more or less the single instance in the game, where Corrin's pair up really makes things easier. I never used Corrin on my strong units, so all I had was Enchanter's Hp tonic surges. I somehow still pulled through with Engage+, Rafal!Edelgard, Zelestia!Chrom, Veyle!Soren and 200 avo Chloe, but this bit was one of the hardest moments in my entire playthrough.

Never had played fire emblem but this theme is heat 🔥🔥🔥
What I like about Lumera is that she makes a century actually feel like a big deal. Most other manaketes treat such a passage of time feel like a blink of an eye. But Lumera waited, genuinely waited, an entire century for her child to wake up. She poured her strength into the possibility of saving Alear for a thousand years, just to be denied even a full day.
The constant reforcements got me stressed out near the end 😭
I don't blame you. They stressed me out as well. I hope those enemies are nerfed in a later update.
@@isaiahdixon9224 That's kinda the point of the reinforcements though? To stress you out and act as a soft time limit while you have to defeat Lumera. Nerfing them would kinda rob them of their intended effect.
I loved the reinforcements, despite them not giving any XP i just gave them all to Anna who was getting 500G every 2-3 kills. In the end i ended up getting around over 20,000G.
This map took me a lot of prep on Hard. I can't imagine doing it on Maddening

My answer is that avoid builds, a flashing fist martial master with lunar brace, a 3-range Corrin user, and literally anyone with Byleth are your best friends.
Took me 3 and a half hours along with my sanity. Still a bit easier than Maddening Fell Xenologue though.
Chapter 25 so far had the best theme imo

Honestly this was the final boss to me. The vibe, the stakes and all, it was so good.
The battle against Sombron was fine but there wasn't really tension on the final map like in this one, I accidently killed him with a Panette crit so it was a little anti-climatic to me

It's a month out but if for some reason anyone is finding any of it hard on a classic maddening - Use full avo Alear with maxed out Corrin. Give a bunch of support natural high speed and AVO tanks. Use pair up. You'll thank me later as you can do things like tank the entire map on this chapter with one character, especially on maddening, and dish out up to 100 damage a turn with fire.
On maddening I had to resort to using micaiah rescue strats to get my entire army into the left starting room and then chokepointing every single reinforcement there… my switch was not happy with me
the beginning reminds me of gangsta's paradise
On maddening I warped my whole team to one side and powered to the door before the thief got there. I then micciah hortensia rewarped other units (seadal for dance, anna byleth for more dance, pannette to kill the thief) all the way to the other side, killed the thief, then warped back in one turn.
I then warped everyone past the doors. The eternal reinforcements couldn't get to me

i was actually driven to madness by how i was absolutely SWARMED with reinforcements in the end. Actually went and dealt with each of them until the reinforcements actually stopped, took me like 26 turns in the end lmao.

I’m utter trash at Fire Emblem and kept the three stewards on my team all the way through to the end. I brute forced my way through a good chunk of this map and got to the point where it was just Alear, Vander, Clanne, and Framme vs Lumera lol

This map was more difficult and tense than the final one for me. For a second, I forgot ch 25 wasn't even the final boss fight.

I gave this map three legitimate tries on maddening, then gave up and just warp cheesed it.
Same here. Trying to take out the boss while the reinforcements never stop coming just isn't worth it
Managed to clear the map AND reinforcements in maddening by using emblem micaiah to warp the entire group on the same room, kill the thief before they open the door and also killing the thief that steals the special dagger in chest with astral storm then wait till all reinforcements are done spawning. Then kill the ones that are aggroable before opening the door, and form a wall at the door with strongest units and ranged ones behind, break the door, and let them come (and die)

For this map I had to use Yunaka, Lapis, and Alear as my dodge tanks with fog to take out most of the reinforcements on the left, while i had four others actively fight at the right, while having Ivy wait on the middle stairs, and having the rest take out the enemies in the middle and the wyrms (thank you LynEtie).
Eventually it was proving to be too much for my right forces so I had to make all my forces rush Lumera with MichiahSeadall keeping the other enemy forces back with Obstruct and Panette.
I was so tired at the end (no casualties btw) ;-;
(and this was on hard)

There were reinforcements? I beat the map in 3 turns so that never got to happen for me

@@borjaarellano9966 It was more so having two tanks hold them off. I have recently completed this on Maddening and just held them off with Corrin’s Fire and Ice veins (Fire for ground units and ice for flying)
imo Engage don't have a lot of "great" themes, but the few lnes they have slap

I must say, I did really like the Ivy/clown battle theme. Had some great tension on maddening. This is great, too, but its a shame its for a character that gets the Mikoto treatment.
Falling petals? Determined journey? Tear streak? Engage? Chilling rain? Bright sandstorm? Mirrored engage? Salvation and loss? The trial themes? The fire emblem?? Last engage? Inconstant one? The credits song? Tragedy? A dragon who saves the world? The emblem's miracle? Unfulfilled dreams? The journey is finally done??? You are just an hater and a simp to "the legendary three houses". Engage did a lot of amazing things you only care about the not so great. Engage has the best gameplay of all fire emblem and, while the story wasn't great it was way better than fates and other fire emblem games because the story was simple and they didn't try to make it serious.
