what i love about this ship is that venti has lost so many people that xiao being immortal gives him something solid that he can fall back on, something static, and xiao canonically has the effects of his karma significantly fractured in ventis presence. they can find peace in each other and i find that beautiful.

@@justdeadnow1404 venti's music saved xiao from "succumbing to the darkness", theres more in his lore that you could probably read into
CANON.
This hits different now with the recent Interlude Archon Quest. Venti was the reason why Xiao didn't end up like the other Yakshas. In the cutscene showing the Yakshas' memories, Xiao did nearly succumb to his karma, and he was in terrible pain. Was that the specific moment that Venti was able to save Xiao? Hmmm.
Also, it makes you wonder-had the other Yakshas heard Venti's music, would they be saved from their karma as well? Or was there something between Venti and Xiao that enabled him to be rescued from such a fate? Maybe it /was/ fate that led them to each other. Only time will tell, or maybe not; but one thing is certain-Xiao longs to dance to the tune of that flute amidst a sea of flowers someday.
and in the aranara quest, the aranara's told us that the anemo archon is wandering around teyvat to help the people heal from the cataclysm (im not quite sure) by playing songs. so there's a possibility that venti purposefully stayed the whole night in duhua marsh to prevent xiao from succumbing into the dark 🥹
think of their relationship platonically or romantically, but nothing will change the fact either way what they have is sweet

In the quiet depths of the night, he picked up a soft little tune from a nice old flute, was it(?), playing from a distance unknown.
_Perhaps the wind carried it all the way to Liyue? The identity of a certain bard has already been implied to you though, so the earlier assumption above is nothing less expected from the Anemo Archon: Lord Barbatos aka the greatest bard in all of Mondstadt, Venti the Bard himself._
Regardless, it soothed the single remaining Yaksha's mind, allowed him to pick up his bearings, and take back his oh-so important control.
Although, the sweet little tune was terribly far from stopping his pain, the wonderful sound it produced at least gave him sufficient comfort and the peace he so needed: perhaps, a distraction from all his present worries.

I played Venti’s story quest but it was a while ago so I don’t really get it lol
Spoilers below because I'll explain the story quest

So basically at the end of his story quest he says that he has the same case as that adventurer that I forgot his name because he was kind of sad, and it goes like -
Old Mondstadt used to be in Stormterror's Lair, and it was ruled by Decarabian, the God of Storms, and was protected by a barrier so that nobody could get in or out. Venti hadn't even been a god yet at that time, he was just a little spirit of the wind. Inside Old Mondstadt, there he met a boy that loved to play the lyre, and that boy wanted to go outside so he started a rebellion and teamed up with everybody in Old Mondstadt to overthrow Decarabian. It was successful, but sadly, that boy lost his life. So Venti, when he got his human form, he took the form of that old friend. 0:34 is a picture of that boy, which appeared to be shot by arrows from rebelling. So then they started a New Mondstadt away from Stormterror's Lair. As you can see, there's something floating above the arrows, and that little thing is the wind spirit that is now known as Venti.
I also just noticed that at 1:26 it looks similar to 0:34 so perhaps they could be related?

Let me explain
Do you see that little creature near the boy who is dead?
Thats Venti's original form, like, for exemple Zhongli's original form is a Dragon.
Venti din't have a human form in the past.
Before he turned into a god he has an Elemental spirit, that little creature you see, made by pure elemental energy.
In the past he met a boy not that old, that biy has a bard. Mihoyo din't reveal the boy's name, so for now the comunnity call him "nameless bard".
The nameless bard lived in Old Mondstadt, who has ruled by a tyrant(sorry I don't remember his name). The tyrant locked the city down. So the nameless bard started a rebelion againts the tyrant,and he won!
But.. When he has about so see the blue sky, and experience the freedom he achived, he has shot by an errow... And died..
So Venti created that form, so everybody would know who has the true hero that his friend were...
And the red hair guy is from Diluc's family, but whe don't have much information about him.

venti will never love xiao the way he loves him. he loves him with his whole heart and soul, while venti can only bring himself to think of him as a crush. even after they start dating the feelings stay the same. they both know how hard it is for venti to be committed to relationships, that part isn’t a secret, but it still chips away at his heart every time he sees venti talking to somebody else. and oh, venti tries so hard to love xiao as much as he loves him, he tries so hard, but he still feels like a horrible boyfriend no matter what. xiao pretends not to notice how hard he tries, it’s killing him to see somebody he loves so much have to lie to love him. deep down they both know that the other knows, but they choose to push it down
