I'm a indie game designer / developer and seeing a game that I used to play when I went to my friends place in his basement with his PS2, PAINS ME. And I'm so proud that indie games like Lethal Company and Palworld are kicking asses left, right, up, down, and all around. Proving that the future of gaming ISN'T doomed. And maybe future AAA games will have more love and care after remasters like these bombed.
@@ArcVTuber It's a shame I was interested in the release of battlefront cuz my only experience with battlefront is the 2017 version. The one with the insane amount of loot boxs
hey Arc you wanna know a game that still has a lot of love from its developers? The critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, which you can try out with the Free Trial. It includes the Basegame, the award-winning Heavensward Expansion and the massive Stormblood Expansion, allowing you to play up to level 70 with no restriction on playtime, and all of your progress gets carried over if you decide to buy the game!
I didn't know this game was out, but as someone who played the original's campaign multiple times and grinded all hidden weapons for solo play twice, it hurts. I loved the original BF2. And does anyone else think that new HUD looks very out of place (and the class selection screen is awful)? At this point I expect any game that's not indie or made by a Japanese studio to be broken at launch. But it's usually not the devs' fault, if by "developers" we mean the people actually doing the coding/art/etc.. It's higher up the food chain that people don't plan for debugging time, refuse to hire QA staff, change their minds about features every few days and expect "passion" will feed their staff and make players love a broken game. Although sometimes actual devs do push bugs because they don't want to bother with QA processes, so there's that. In addition, porting a game isn't just about changing the textures and the UI. If you don't put enough quality of life changes, players will complain that the port is lazy (understandably so), but doing so poses a (small, with a competent production) risk of introducing bugs. More importantly, you're most likely working with new tools that may not be 100% compatible with the old game's assets, using an engine that's definitely not compatible with the old game's code (if only because modern machines have different specs and sometimes architecture). That's how you end up with physics bugs notably, but also more mundane issues. It's not a simple process, and it shouldn't be mistaken as such by the players -even less so by the devs. I'm not making excuses here. Clearly, someone didn't do their job. But it's also unfair to say "it's just a copy paste with better looks".
I feel this lol. this game was a HUGE part of my childhood, and unfortunatly with games coming out lately i usually wait before getting into them unless its from a company I trust. This was the same case with the new Naruto ultimate ninja storm game.. the multiplayer pvp portion of it didnt even allow you to invite your friends to go up against. they never had that issue until now LMAO So yeah unless they have a good track record I just dont trust games as much as i used to.
Sadly, this is what modern games have turned into. There are pletny of studios who try their best with their resources to deliver something fun. While others, well, we see what others want...
The fact that they took a 20 year old game that didnt need any fixing and made this steaming piece of shit out of it just shows that modern publisher are hating everything that makes normal people happy. What's next a rerelease of Nindendogs were you only can stangle puppys to death? My fucking god how can they be that incompetent?!?
@@ArcVTuber it is just so sad that they shit on our childhood like it's their goal to piss us of. But you are right with what you said at the end. If you want to play a good game that feals like battlefront there is as far as I know only Helldivers 2 because all other modern scifi multiplayer shooters are either not fun or just plane unplayable.
Played the 2004 game when I was a kid, liked it a lot. I didn't think this scale of suckass was even achievable, beyond the damage done by 2015 and 2017. It almost feels like it should've taken some effort to fuck this up as badly as they did with this release.
Shit like this for years has just made it so that I can not get excited for new games anymore. Baldurs Gate 3 was partialy praised because it was actually a finished game, that should be the baseline... (It's a great game though, play it you degenerate)
That ending case in point is why things are getting worse. In a sense you literally just said youre complacent about these issues til it effects something personal to you, aka this game.... you guys wonder why things are bad eith gaming its because everyone sits on their ass til things get personal.
You're free to interpret my response as you will. Just as I am free to say you did not get my point. Let me address few things you've implied. 1 - "Sitting on our asses until it gets personal" I know it's hard to get a good grasp on my general stance from one short video. To give you some background, I've strongly been against the releases of incomplete products for ages. While I'm not here asking people to boycot anything, I will share strong opinios. I've told people to stop tolerating EA's bullshit. As such I haven't purchased any of their games for years. 2 - "You wonder how things turn to be bad" No I don't. I do plenty of research behind studios and publishers of titles I am interested in, regardless of my previous knowledge. For instance, Helldivers 2 had the issue of full servers during it's first 4 days. Most people were freaking out. But if you did a bit of research, you would discover that planning servers for a player population that's over 57x larger than your last title's peak engagement is financially irresponsible. Aspyr doesn't really have a bad track record. So yes, I will give them the benefit of the doubt which in this case has been a total let down. 3 - "I'm complacent about these issues" How? Because I gave the game a try? Because I made video that generate traffic towards their title? I've literally said I can't recommend this game and I also refunded the title. My interaction with the game has lead to bad marketing and loss of funds for the devs. How am I uncritical of the issue? I even throw in my 2 decades of support towards the franchise as bonus criticism towards my disatisfaction. Also, there is a degree of hypocrisy in your in your statement. What are you doing to stop the gaming industry from "being trash"? Leaving shallow comments about people's perspective without exploring them in full? Come on my friend, I know you're better than that. I don't expect you to know me, but you saying that I'm the reason for it and that I'm complacent is just not true. I do what I can to prove my disatisfaction as a player as well as a small creator. I refuse to fully dedicate my time to it because I believe consumers have to be more aware of their habits. There is plenty of bad things such as cash grabs, broken games and such. But if living in an age where Souls games became greater than before, and where the Monster Hunter series has reached new heights is a "trash industry", than I'm afraid you're hyper focusing on the negative.

There is always hope!
It's a damn shame to see a beloved game being treated like this
Just goes to show we have to stand our ground as consumers.
The only warmth that this game gives off, its the fire of it burning into ash
More like the cold shiver of disappointment imo.
Arc has his serious pants on today O_o
I had to let it out.
I remember the time where the joke on battlefront was that Battlefront 3 was a myth.
How we fallen...
Oh how Battlefront has fallen indeed...
As someone who has fond memories of Battlefront 2 Galactic Conquest with friends during weekends, I feel your pain Arc.
It's genuine pain. It's like my inner child is crying.
