ey, it is amazing... I've been skating alone in my town for two years now and suddenly since one week there are suddenly so much more skaters. All skaters who are new to skating or restarted again. We're 11 skaters now and I love it. Blading starts to grow again, at least here in my town.
I finally got my 100 mm wheels today. Went out for my first time on the Endless frames. I absolutely love them. I absolutely love cruising on 4 100s. I did 12 miles/19.3 k and maxed out at 29.7 mph/ 47.8 kph. Best day skating yet.
I bought these skates a few months ago as my get back in inline skates. They had a bit of break-in but are super fun now. I’m interested in a few styles of skating so would love to see you skating these with more frames / changes and hearing your thoughts. Enjoyed this review. Keep up the love.
Hi Ricardo, thanks for the video. Please consider testing the K2 boot with the Trimax frames. Viewers would be interested to see how that pairing works....the high triple-wheel design of the Trimax by Kizer coupled with the relatively stiff K2 Uptown boot. Thank you for considering it.
K2 Uptown are the last skates I have in my collection (after SEBA FR1, GT90 and ROCES EQUINOX). After many training with it I really like them. They are so funny to skate and they look so gorgeous (it's the 2017 leather and glowing material version). I'm very curious in how they work with a Wizard frame.
Been riding the K2 Il-Capo's for years. The uptown is basically the same skate but with the rockerable axles so I use the "african" rockering concept... IMO it's one of the most comfortable skates I've owned, sizing is accurate and the stiffness is nice but a little limiting if you try to do slalom in them which of course they're not designed for. Whenever I switch between my other skates and then switch back to these it takes me a few minutes to readjust to the flat heel (feel like I'm falling backwards) but then my brain adjusts and it's fine.
Good review, I ride K2 Il Capo the older model, but very similar. I also skate on ice and absolutely love the boot, it holds the feet perfectly for me.
Elijah Abdulrahman uptown comes with metal frame and plastic buckle, midtown comes with plastic frame and Velcro top strap. I think that’s it apart from the look
Nice video Ricardo! Totally agree - they are a good skate for someone who wants to do a bit of everything, like I did getting back in to blading and being used to K2 Fatty Pro back in the 90s. I have the midtown’s which are pretty much the same, I got the unnatural frames on 60mm flat, the original 80mm frames and some FLT3 anti so most bases covered! I think the sole plate is too thin for a lot of grinding BUT I managed to pick up two pairs of the Varsity soul plates which work *really* well but are rarer than unicorn farts! Would love to see your thoughts on the Eagle as they similar to the unnatural. And if you can get the varsity plates.....👌
Long time k2 fan. I agree with most of the items described. I would have highlighted that they actually make great aggressive boots as they're not nearly as stiff as the unnatural boots but they also aren't flimsy like the varsity boots. Just need to add varsity souls and your in business. Also note that the stock buckle receptors are still in need of improvement as they dont stay locked over time. I also experienced where the metal tab on the ankle strap did manage to slip through the receptor piece. I had to shave down the metal in order to get it to fit back through the receptor. The skates feel terrible without the ankle strap
I’ve been skating them for a year, and they feel pretty good. Regarding the stiffness of the cuff, well it’s true that they feel a bit harder than other skates, and you might feel at the beginning your forward flex a bit compromised, nevertheless it’s just a matter of time to break them in. I have them currently with gc big frame (72 flat) and the soul slides pretty fast.
I didn't know wizards were rockeable. how does the rockering on them works? if you make the K2 with wizard frames video it would be nice to touch on that.
I have tried everywhere to find something that shows the actual wizard rocker. No Go.. shame..even on the site Guessing it's a secret lol. Also annoying Leon is all sold out of the wizard setup. Bummer
ShopTask has videos explaining the rocker and other features of the frames. I believe they have a fixed 2mm rocker and are slightly taller in the back creating a forward lean.
Great video, Ricardo! I think you were spot on with your observation. I have the older Uptown with the synthetic leather upper and green wheels. They are definitely not aggressive skates but they have an aggressive cuff for support. They are kind of the Jack of all trades. If I had to categorize them I would put them as a lifestyle skate like K2 described them. They are great for commuting, some jumps and tricks but nothing serious and they aren’t the fastest but they are comfortable. In terms of size, I don’t know if they run small but I don’t think they are meant to be super tight. I feel like K2 went with comfort over performance. They are fun skate and an upgrade for someone who doesn’t doesn’t want the rec/ fitness style or plastic shell type of skate
@@mountainpeakcloud8442 nah I don’t feel these run wild. With that being said I had to return mine as the buckle gave up a few days after purchasing and you can’t change it
I asked once the Mushroom blading guys on their opinions, on using Midtown or uptown, and the response was it is not supportive enough. Maybe works with 80mm, but wouldn't go higher. The use K2 Unnaturals.
Got the biggest question, is it possible to cut the rivets off my usd sways and put a different cuff onto them?? I’m super curious as if you have seen this or is it even possible??
That's my skates) I started skating just this summer and known nothing about aggresive or slalom or anything, i just wanted to exercise, but running is boring to me. So I googled skates, how to choose them and stuff, and found out this huge world of skating. And I was able to try different stuff in them, street, slalom, park, miniramp and now when I know what i want and what is fun for me, I can choose my next skates. 100% agree with you that this is weird hybrid of everything but for me as a begginer that worked perfectly fine. And as i haven't any background, they feels like home to me.
@@mountainpeakcloud8442 I could say it's narrow, and be precise with lenght as you will broke into them pretty well, liner isn't durable. Also I should say that I just bought fr3 and i'm very happy with them, they so much better and have adjustable rocker, go with them or any plactic boot, it's so much support
Hi there hope you can help please , I have new K2 uptown skates , and want soul plates for aggressive skating , but everywhere is sold out of the k2 varsity soul kit 😭 is there any other brand that would kit my skate ? If so what do you recommend ? Hope you can help ? Many thanks 😊

There are options for what you want. Most aggressive boots use the ufs system. Almost all aggressive frames are ufs frames. There are a few options for 100+mm ufs frames. Ground control makes one that fits up to 110mm wheels. You could get the skates in the video and get aggressive frames, or get a different boot and get the frames from the video.

Are there any tips I should know about wearing hockey skates? I don't play hocket but I was gifted these skates, and I do mostly street or urban skating.
I am using the uptown with varsity soul plates I message k2 on insta they have some available to order, the durometer is 85Ad I am using my k2 Unnatural aggressive frames Flat with Dead Wheels. This boot in my opinion in comparison to my unnatural the cuff is much softer, not as soft as 250cc but much easier to royal and backslide with the uptown. Now if only their was a way to purchase the soul plates easier.

I had the most watched review for K2 uptowns, you're gonna take that from me now lol
you were the OG back in 2017
Do you agree with that falling backwards feeling in these skates?
