HEY COLIN! What do we do in regards to showing ID at a casino once they pegged you as a returning counter? Should you refuse to share your ID? Show them anyway? How do you continue counting at a place you've been backed off in regards to showing or not showing ID? Thanks Colin
Question: So when the true count is high, doesn't the dealer have an equally as good of a chance as getting a good hand as you (i.e. 18, 19, 20, 21)? Also, if the count is high and you get a 12-16, there's a greater chance you'll bust if you have to hit. Doesn't seem like the greatest advantage to me.
Except the casino has to hit when they get anything below a 17, and if the true count is relatively high enough, any low card they get will basically bust them
It’s not an obvious advantage, it’s small little percentages. With perfect basic strategy the casino has a .5% edge over you, with card counting you can get a 2-5% edge over the casino. It adds up over time
Shit and i thought i could count cards and earn money with no more than $200 starting off at $15 minimum bet tables.. 50-100? So i would have to bring a minimum of $750 of $15 each still a lot of money to me

But anyways always play smart and Count Cards hahaha
Good: Higher limit areas tend to have better house rules and less players, so you get more hands per hour and less variance since you see all the cards. Also the higher the units, the more you stand to win per hour. Bad: You have eyes on you the entire time. Hell, you'll be experiencing heat before you even play your first hand, so you probably won't be playing very long before being backed off.
I love when I can find an empty table and play 1v1. Its hard though today with covid forcing only 3 players per table. Played well last week here in Az on a early Saturday afternoon.
Can I "sponsor" a player on a team? Back their bankroll at the start, say 5k. Then they go out and play however long? If you lose the 5k you lose, no problem. Thats the risk. But if you win more off that 5k split a percentage? Just wondering.
Is it even possible to count into a six deck shoe if they are only playing with about four? That is to say there's a six deck shoe, but they stop and shuffle when there's still about two decks in the shoe. Thanks.
@@GeometricMason It is definitely taking more effort these days to find tables without so much stacked against you. Another thing I discovered this week was after the shuffle, the dealer taking FIVE burns cards off the top of a 6 deck shoe. I'd never seen that before. Another casino was taking 3 off the top. I wish Colin or someone else could figure out how much that kills any advantage too. Not sure I can but I might try.
@@GeometricMasonI'm in Reno Nevada and they deal down to about 1 deck left in a 6 deck shoe here. They also have some single deck BJ. I was recently at Boom town casino and played single deck. I had always played 6 deck though and I wasn't used to single deck. I started with $100 got down to $10 than won it back, got up to $130 and quit. I was about to leave until I found that they had a promotion for slots where If you lost $25 they give it back, but in free play, so I tried that. Quickly lost $25 got the $25 in free play and Quickly lost that too. So I should have just skipped the slots, they are a complete waste
So what happens when you get good at this and then get banned from your local casino? Single casino in my home state (Australia) otherwise it’s a four hour flight...
You can still count. It will effect the true count with how many decks are left and some of the detailed stuff might be different but the basics should be the same
@@texasrebel7754 ahh okay that makes sense. thank you for letting me know. i wasnt sure how to phrase that into google to get an accurate answer. i appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. have a good day ;)
A unit is what you're willing to play for as your standard bet. It's often the minimum bet on the table, but you can also play 25$ as your standard bet on a 5$ table. So, if as a counter you use a 1-8 bet spread, it means that you can bet from 5-40$ or 100-800$ per hand. Playing the game is exactly the same, it's all up to you. In the first example, your unit would be 5$, while in the second example, it would be 100$.
Can basic strategy and counting work if my casino ties on 22? My casino doesn’t bust then. They leave my bet on the table and they don’t lose. Are the odds insurmountable?
Sounds like you are describing a “free double”/“free split” table. The tables where if you are dealt a 9, 10 or an 11 for a starting hand, you can signal to the dealer for a “free” double down, and the dealer will place a casino token next to your bet, representing a free double down bet on the house, so if you win, you win 2-1 on your bet without having to wager any additional money. The “free” split option works similarly as to where you can signal for the dealer to put a free split bet out there to split any 2 cards you want (they have to be the same value card though... like two jacks or two 7s, etc.) without wagering any additional money. To counter the increased player odds, the house has to make it so a dealer 22 is a table push. Tables like those are better if you are looking to gamble and take more chances, as you have potential opportunities to win more than even money for your winning hand without getting a blackjack or wagering any additional money, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to count cards and play perfect basic strategy on a table like that, because others are also looking to gamble more in spots they typically wouldn’t without the “free bet” option, so it can lead to a lot more variance than standard tables where the players are playing more consistently basic strategy.
If you want it to, then yes! But the betting unit is actually the lowest you are willing to bet, it may be the table's minimum, but not everyone's has the same approach to it. Some may want a higher value to it, others may simply use the table's minimum, no problem with that.
IMO its a good idea to "wong out" when necessary. As a rule I never play if lower than a true -3. Sometimes I'll leave at -2 or even sooner especially if overall penetration of game is only marginal. It depends on penetration and how far into the shoe the negative count occurs. Sometimes when playing in a negative count, I'll find an excuse to " sit out a couple rounds" when there are other players.
Just one question, whenever I'm at the tables my balls start getting really itchy, should I scratch them at the table or should I walk away and scratch them? Just don't want judged at the table for using dirty ball hands if the dealer sees me
10 months late here but definitely scratch without any remorse. Actually, scratch, sniff- and make direct eye contact to assert dominance. It’s a power play

Might be smart to practise with 1 only for some time. Suddenly you win, win, win and come home with 300. Then.....
You need a partner. So one person can keep the count while the other person rests then after an hour switch. Playing alone is no fun So this adds a little enjoyment
At 2:17 u can see the 5diamonds and ace diamond been whole punched same spot... but dealer hand the 5 clubs is pun ched in diff spot aswell as the king clubs...this is in no way real...the whole punches dont even align! meaning marked cards...!im sure this some stock bullshit tho right?and for the people who cant notice the 5s just gauge there punch marks its easier cause it same card
Buffet and the concert, other than that nothing….unless you are counting cards amIrite?
my first time going to a casino being 21 years old i brought $300 and left with $12,000 in 4 hours of playing blackjack i still have no idea how to card count
Lies lol
ran the math on this one... the odds of this happening, knowing you were not counting, is basically the same as saying jesus will walk the earth tmrw.
Wow the same thing happened to me with the 500$ bucks
HEY COLIN! What do we do in regards to showing ID at a casino once they pegged you as a returning counter? Should you refuse to share your ID? Show them anyway? How do you continue counting at a place you've been backed off in regards to showing or not showing ID? Thanks Colin
don’t show your id. you simply just leave if they want your id or else you’re going to get databased. if they keep doing it, time to find a new casino
The first red flag is the punched cards being dealt LOL!
50-100? So i would have to bring a minimum of $750 of $15 each still a lot of money to me
I bring like 50 dollars only and usually win a bit before I quit
I take how much I would spend in a bar. Works out great.
and if this tutorial all card counting it goes like this...when there - bet small when they + bet large...its not that complicated...this is just an add
How much should we bring to invest in GME?

Colin, have you ever heard of card counting system that uses Ace as the 0 and 5 and lower are considered the low side and 6 or more is the high side?
1:45 guy was actually a clever card counter trying to sound like a gambling addict
Been practicing for a few months but only casino I can go to is at my home town due to age restrictions and I’m away for college. Made 450$ last weekend when I went home. Only went twice with 60$ on 5$ tables. Still trying to get better with your tips!
My tip im 21 i played in juvi so i took my ass too Caesars and I was playing smart and came back home with $2000 and yeahhh i lost a couple 20-50 but i made my profit because i played smart and i was honestly started at 75 and then from there i won then i started playying low 50 - 20 and my dad was like holy shit. But anyways always play smart and Count Cards hahaha
Another good video ♠️

Opinions? Good or bad for counting
I used to take only 40-50$ in and if I lost I lost but somtimes id walk away with 500+
Does card counting still help when the dealer shuffles the cards every one or two rounds??
Can I "sponsor" a player on a team? Back their bankroll at the start, say 5k. Then they go out and play however long? If you lose the 5k you lose, no problem. Thats the risk. But if you win more off that 5k split a percentage? Just wondering.
I'm all ears!

Is it even possible to count into a six deck shoe if they are only playing with about four? That is to say there's a six deck shoe, but they stop and shuffle when there's still about two decks in the shoe. Thanks.
That makes it more difficult, no doubt. That's why I avoid casinos that do that.
@@texasrebel7754 right, but it seems nowadays they ALL do that.
If you can't come up from 100 you can't come up from 1000
I want to get membership for blackjack apprenticeship but it’s so damn expensive
Colin didn’t like your post
What is the cost?
Leave your debit cards AT HOME!!!
So what happens when you get good at this and then get banned from your local casino? Single casino in my home state (Australia) otherwise it’s a four hour flight...
Not to mention that CSMs are ubiquitous in Aus’ casinos - on the main floor. Six deck shoe games are min $50 ($38 USD)
10X your base bet/session.
Lose it, quit. Double it, quit.
Can you count 8 deck shoes? You always talk abut 6 but where I play at the hard rock in florida we use 8 deck shoes?
You can still count. It will effect the true count with how many decks are left and some of the detailed stuff might be different but the basics should be the same
when you say 3-4 hours is 100 units... is 100 units / 100 dollars...? what is 1 unit?
Generally a "unit" would be whatever the minimum bet is at that table. So if the minimum bet is $10, that's one unit. It's not a set amount of money.
@@texasrebel7754 ahh okay that makes sense. thank you for letting me know. i wasnt sure how to phrase that into google to get an accurate answer. i appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. have a good day ;)
@@nathanwagner9895 My pleasure, take care!!
Tables like those are better if you are looking to gamble and take more chances, as you have potential opportunities to win more than even money for your winning hand without getting a blackjack or wagering any additional money, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to count cards and play perfect basic strategy on a table like that, because others are also looking to gamble more in spots they typically wouldn’t without the “free bet” option, so it can lead to a lot more variance than standard tables where the players are playing more consistently basic strategy.
hello, is "one unit" the table minimum bet? :)
If you want it to, then yes! But the betting unit is actually the lowest you are willing to bet, it may be the table's minimum, but not everyone's has the same approach to it. Some may want a higher value to it, others may simply use the table's minimum, no problem with that.
Is there a point where the count gets so low that you walk away from a table, if so, how low does it get for you to walk away?
Thanks
true negitive 2
IMO its a good idea to "wong out" when necessary. As a rule I never play if lower than a true -3. Sometimes I'll leave at -2 or even sooner especially if overall penetration of game is only marginal.
It depends on penetration and how far into the shoe the negative count occurs. Sometimes when playing in a negative count, I'll find an excuse to " sit out a couple rounds" when there are other players.
I would want to go to a casino, but really doubt they'd have tables for wusses like me who only would want to bet $5-$10 a hand
On weekdays, almost every casino has $10 tables, and a lot of them still go down to $5. But be prepared to see some absolutely garbage rules on them
What do you do if you’re winning shit loads of cash? Does the casino report that to the irs that you won that money?
No, they do not.
All of it plus your Venmo acct
How much do you want to lose!
Is 100 units the amount you are betting each hand
I'd bring $100 or $200. No more, no less.
Having fun is all that counts.
Why are you saying this on a card counting channel’s video.
@@jameswilliam301 because I want to? The video title and the channel is obvious.
