I understand this very well. All 3 of my older siblings have been diagnosed with either anxiety, depression, or some mental illness. Its both caused by our genetics an terrible upbringing, but our parents refuse to believe that they are part(most) of the problem. They stopped getting us tested for such things after my older sister- so opposite to this game, they refuse to get me diagnosed with anything, even though my doctor told them to take me to a psychiatrist. I have no doubt that I have both depression and anxiety, and I have suffered my entire life because of the anxiety. Waking up shaking, becoming anxious because of my parents fighting, stage fright, wanting to go out like a normal child, and more is so relatable with this game.

My mom till this day (im 20 years old) doesn't believe i have anxiety and depression, she will also always tell me to just "pray it away" as if that will truly help me. In alot of countries, mental health is a taboo subject which is why i think this game was so popular.

not rlly, they banned this game cuz of the drawings on the yellow papers were filled with characters of something "offensive", if u were to say, and also, the game ending had 2 kinds of meaning, since they also included mentor heuh, the person who told the dad that buddha can help mei shin pass this "craziness" and live healthily if he were to pay respects by doing what they said, which was basically a scam to get money from all those who believed mentor heuh.

I immediately picked up on what was going on because I have bad anxiety. I was raised by my grandmother, my parents were too young to support and take care of me and my sisters. I felt responsible for it and, on top of that, I had to comfort and watch over my sisters. I felt I had to impress and make my parents proud and I didn't understand why they didn't love each other or wanted to be together. I carried this pain to my teenage years. I developed severe insomnia to the point of not being able to sleep until I passed out from exhaustion and when I woke up, everything hurt. Just existing was so painful. I tried to end my life. Twice. My grandmother didn't understand how to help me but, thankfully, I had a teacher take me to see someone after I had a bad anxiety attack in class. Sorry to bore you with my story but I wanted to share. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
You playing this game made me sooooo happy. I've played it a few weeks ago and it made me cry a few times cause it hit close to home with a lot of stuff, but I loved every second of it. It's a real piece of art. I'd love it if you'd play more story driven stuff, it's nice to have someone else's perspective on stories that go deeper. And yes, Mei Shin does die, but the dad doesn't. After the credits roll, the dad is shown on the same couch you started the game on watching static on the TV, so I'm assuming he's still alive.
I think the husband is in hell, definitely. He relives memories of the past, present, and future when he was alive. Stuck in a time loop of his worse moments in life, where he holds the most guilt and pain. What also adds to this theory, is that there is a cutscene after the credits, similar to the beginning of the game. There are also implications that he killed Li Fang(his wife) after he indirectly kills Mei Shin, as a result of going insane after realizing that the rituals are a sham and that its his fault that Mei is traumatized, pressured, and died. Partially Fang's fault for putting pressure on her too. So, when he accidentally killed Mei, he kinda went into a Freeze mode (fight, flight, freeze) and in the *very* beginning of the game, when Li Fang was asking where Mei Shin was, that could have been the moment when he killed Li Fang, blacking out and then killed her. Most likely killed himself after and that's when the timeloop in hell starts. Sad, horrific, and overall tragic.
Wait that’s why the dad doesn’t have eyes when he looked at himself in the mirror because he said something along the lines of “i’ve done it before and it worked hopefully it will work again” when he did the ritual thing

This really hits hard, i suffer from severe anxiety when i was a child and it made it hard for me to go about in everyday life without having an attack. But i guess i was one of the lucky ones to have a parent that knew what was happening to me and help me through with it during my childhood. To anyone else thats suffering from any mental illness/disorder, its gonna be okay. With the right help and support you'll get through with it ❤
The ending was so sad and it’s even sadder than in reality they are parents in every nationality that will put their kids through painful and unnecessary things because they don’t want to actually our knowledge that mental health problems is a real thing. As a person who went through a trauma because of religious believes and just the parent not wanting to face the truth this game will always be my favorite. It truly does show jar far parents would go just for their child to be “healthy” but yet still avoid the fact that they might be the problem or think that a God/Goddess could cure the child..
Most likely the daughter suffers from crippling panic attacks, anxiety and depression. The way the show her freaking out and her hiding from people are very big signs of this along with her falling ill but getting better from making origami. When I was younger I suffered from the same thing and experienced similar symptoms. I also used to play piano because my grandfather and mothers used to play instruments. Because of that I felt pressured to learn how to play because I thought that was the only way they would be proud of me. That way of thinking forced me into learning something that I hated and just stressed me out. Sometimes I would even start feeling sick like the daughter and not be able to breath. Thankfully after years of psychological therapy I was able to tell my parents and grandparents how I felt about it and quit piano. After that I started being more open about how I felt about everything and have been doing much better. Overall if I’m right about the daughter then this game is a masterpiece and an amazing depiction of anxiety and pressure caused by parents.
In my opinion this game showed the progress of the father going through purgatory, seeing all of his life and what's happened around him with a different perspective compared to when he was alive, and at the end of the game his soul finally sets free and runs towards the infinite light. Towards his daughter...
Dude that ending hit so hard like I started crying, no joke but hearing that she finally found peace made me sad and happy at the same time but to be honest I have no words 😢😭
I heard someone say juicy is smart af when he plays horror games and honestly they couldn't be more right because I watched like 3 others play this game and were a bit confused about the ending and what the characters were doing leading them to not really grasp how sad it was but he had it all down pact all the way through so he understood the heartbreaking ending (aside from what he thought about the mother who was planning on going back to her daughter). Anyway I enjoyed finally watching someone's reaction completely understand what was happening.
Weirdly enough I didn’t get as emotional as I expected. Even at all, might be a testimony to my own mental issues but when juice explained it all I got the full weight of it all despite already knowing the facts already. Was a fun ride
As someone with clinical anxiety as well as many more other mental illnesses, I understand. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 16 because of how high-functioning I was, but only then was I able to really begin to love myself. This hit way too close to home, but it was beautifully and respectfully done, by both the developers and Juicy. Thank you for playing this game.

I love these type of games with a deeper, psychological meaning behind them plus the horror aspect! This game was sooo beautifully done! The graphics were amazing, the sequences were soo interesting, the puzzles were super intriguing, the jump scares were soooo good and the story, of course, was absolutely fantastic! One day, I want to create games like this, too and put positive messages out into the world with them! And I absolutely love your commentary throughout the episodes, it was super hilarious and made me really happy 💜
Ik this was uploaded all the way back in April but I found it quite sad that she did find a way to help ease her anxiety by making paper tulips and the dad never once take notice that she found her own "cure" She found a way to me herself feel better. I do want to say that in the '80s and even later, a lot of people didn't understand mental health. What her parents did was wrong but I don't think they understood exactly what was really happening to her. She just wanted her and her parents to be a happy family. At 10 years old it must have been really scary. We have a better look at mental health and are still learning every day. I'm glad I got to watch Juicy play it.
The part where she chases you through the Halls is meant to symbolize how the father saw her he saw her as a monster of some sort coming after him but in reality if you were paying attention she's completely normal in fact she's the innocent one she's not a monster she's not crazy she's not a maniac that's just how the father saw her because of his delusion. She was also right about the mentor being a scam but the father refused to believe it
Gosh that was so good. I love stories like this that really make you think about very serious topics in such insightful and meaningful ways. Melancholy as it can be, it's so important to be mindful of others and their struggles.

I have anxiety and I get like panic attacks I have such a hard time claming myself down cus the amount of worry and fear I have is like waves crashing down on me I also was softly hitting my head in class too i think i was trying to ground myself my panic attacks is like I stsrt hyperventialting I feel it in my chest like I call it a spike of anxiety and when the spike hits I know imma have a panic attack ive had them at school in class...anyway what I'm saying is that i get her with the anxiety and this is such an amazing game I love it well done

❤ love you for this juicy. As a father of 2 and my oldest having mental health issues this really hit home for me to. I'm thankful for all the amazing doctors and teachers that help my little girl. There are amazing people in this world who do care.
This really hits hard, i suffer from severe anxiety when i was a child and it made it hard for me to go about in everyday life without having an attack. But i guess i was one of the lucky ones to have a parent that knew what was happening to me and help me through with it during my childhood.
To anyone else thats suffering from any mental illness/disorder, its gonna be okay. With the right help and support you'll get through with it ❤

The ending was so sad and it’s even sadder than in reality they are parents in every nationality that will put their kids through painful and unnecessary things because they don’t want to actually our knowledge that mental health problems is a real thing. And some parents will not acknowledge the day are a problem in many cases. Thank you juicy for playing this game and having such a beautiful soul and fresh eyes towards the game!

As a person who went through a trauma because of religious believes and just the parent not wanting to face the truth this game will always be my favorite. It truly does show jar far parents would go just for their child to be “healthy” but yet still avoid the fact that they might be the problem or think that a God/Goddess could cure the child..

Most likely the daughter suffers from crippling panic attacks, anxiety and depression. The way the show her freaking out and her hiding from people are very big signs of this along with her falling ill but getting better from making origami. When I was younger I suffered from the same thing and experienced similar symptoms. I also used to play piano because my grandfather and mothers used to play instruments. Because of that I felt pressured to learn how to play because I thought that was the only way they would be proud of me. That way of thinking forced me into learning something that I hated and just stressed me out. Sometimes I would even start feeling sick like the daughter and not be able to breath. Thankfully after years of psychological therapy I was able to tell my parents and grandparents how I felt about it and quit piano. After that I started being more open about how I felt about everything and have been doing much better. Overall if I’m right about the daughter then this game is a masterpiece and an amazing depiction of anxiety and pressure caused by parents.

In my opinion this game showed the progress of the father going through purgatory, seeing all of his life and what's happened around him with a different perspective compared to when he was alive, and at the end of the game his soul finally sets free and runs towards the infinite light. Towards his daughter...
Dude that ending hit so hard like I started crying, no joke but hearing that she finally found peace made me sad and happy at the same time but to be honest I have no words 😢😭
I heard someone say juicy is smart af when he plays horror games and honestly they couldn't be more right because I watched like 3 others play this game and were a bit confused about the ending and what the characters were doing leading them to not really grasp how sad it was but he had it all down pact all the way through so he understood the heartbreaking ending (aside from what he thought about the mother who was planning on going back to her daughter). Anyway I enjoyed finally watching someone's reaction completely understand what was happening.
Weirdly enough I didn’t get as emotional as I expected. Even at all, might be a testimony to my own mental issues but when juice explained it all I got the full weight of it all despite already knowing the facts already. Was a fun ride

As someone with clinical anxiety as well as many more other mental illnesses, I understand. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 16 because of how high-functioning I was, but only then was I able to really begin to love myself. This hit way too close to home, but it was beautifully and respectfully done, by both the developers and Juicy.

You should play "Before Your Eyes", it's a story about a little kid. The end really made my heart ache. It's an insane game and the story-telling is next level

Please please please play more games like this. Doesn't even have to be horror! Why not try 'The Stanley Parable'? It has some horror elements, but for the most part its just a funny, yet meta and sometimes depressing game.

When I heard Juicy's explanation I started balling-
I love these type of games with a deeper, psychological meaning behind them plus the horror aspect! This game was sooo beautifully done! The graphics were amazing, the sequences were soo interesting, the puzzles were super intriguing, the jump scares were soooo good and the story, of course, was absolutely fantastic!
One day, I want to create games like this, too and put positive messages out into the world with them!

As a person with anxiety,this story brings me so much sadness seeing someone else dealing with anxiety and I can’t help them.
Juicy should play the walking dead season 4 with clemetine. The part where clemetine and lee see each other in clems dream made me ball my eyes out.
Ik this was uploaded all the way back in April but I found it quite sad that she did find a way to help ease her anxiety by making paper tulips and the dad never once take notice that she found her own "cure" She found a way to me herself feel better. I do want to say that in the '80s and even later, a lot of people didn't understand mental health. What her parents did was wrong but I don't think they understood exactly what was really happening to her. She just wanted her and her parents to be a happy family. At 10 years old it must have been really scary. We have a better look at mental health and are still learning every day. I'm glad I got to watch Juicy play it.

The part where she chases you through the Halls is meant to symbolize how the father saw her he saw her as a monster of some sort coming after him but in reality if you were paying attention she's completely normal in fact she's the innocent one she's not a monster she's not crazy she's not a maniac that's just how the father saw her because of his delusion.
She was also right about the mentor being a scam but the father refused to believe it

Loved the game please do more of these like the story games. I have anxiety and I get like panic attacks I have such a hard time claming myself down cus the amount of worry and fear I have is like waves crashing down on me I also was softly hitting my head in class too i think i was trying to ground myself my panic attacks is like I stsrt hyperventialting I feel it in my chest like I call it a spike of anxiety and when the spike hits I know imma have a panic attack ive had them at school in class...anyway what I'm saying is that i get her with the anxiety and this is such an amazing game I love it well done

I F-ING LOVE THESE KIND OF GAMES! Where at first your confused and the story gives you enough information that you can understand what is going on but you have to finish it to properly understand and even then somethings can be up for interpretation!
