Model and Render a Double Walled Glass in SOLIDWORKS! (using PhotoView 360 & Adobe Photoshop)

    In this video, I'm going to show you how to model AND render a double-walled glass in SOLIDWORKS.
    We start by modeling the glass in SOLIDWORKS. Therefore, we're going to use a Blueprint. Then I'm going to show you how to make a beautiful rendering of the glass in PhotoView 360 (integrated into SOLIDWORKS).
    As icing on the cake, I'm also going to show you how to add liquid and ice cubes to your rendering using Adobe Photoshop for that extra sparkle.

      I am using a Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6150 CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.69 GHz (2 processors) 64,0 GB RAM. I cut some of the render waiting time away so in the video the render goes faster than real life ;)

    Hi Jan,
    I’ve just graduated as an mechanical engineer and I work at a heavy vehicle body manufacturer (we make about 50 bodies per year). Im fairly familiar with modelling individual parts, and also with placing parts into an assembly, but what I really want to learn is a more parametric workflow for creating assemblies.
    I’ve seen people make assemblies by creating some key construction lines and planes and then if they want to revise any individual part, because it was created to be parametric with the assembly, all necessary flow on effects of a change in one part are automatically propagated to other parts within the assembly. I’m not really clear on how to do this kind of thing.
    Do any of your courses cover this kind of workflow/ best practices, or can you recommend a good resource for me to investigate? I’m happy to pay for the right course.

      Hi! My SolidWorks courses will definitely help you with that. Most of my SolidWorks models (like the Aston Martin, Boeing 747, and the yacht model) are modeled in the adjustable way you just described. So for example, if I update the door surface of a car, the bodywork around the car will be automatically adjusted as well.     spline are use to make complex shape.

    while using the spline comment why we are assigning the value for the spline
    what is usage of assigning spline arrow value ?

      By assigning the value of the spline it's fully defined (and therefore more stable). It's also easier to reproduce in a tutorial like this :)

      Hi Johan, if you right click on your model > Edit Appearances > Advanced > Illumination > Index of refraction, you can change the refraction of your material :)
