    Regaining my higher range after not singing seriously for years (since college/uni) and this has helped immensely! Almost threw in the towel and started calling myself an alto - but now it's almost all the way back after practicing just a few times! Thank you :)

    Thank you so much for this. My brilliant (very strict) vocal trainer Norma Biagi passed away a decade ago and you are the only person I found that grounds me again. I have increased my very lazy vocal range by 4 semitones just by doing these exercises.

    I cant for the life of me do the last 3-4 notes of head voice. And in the last exercise with full vocal range I can do the last 2 ones. After reading the comments I've seen that this has helped some expand their vocal range, so! I'm going to try this exercise daily and see if I can actually hit the full scale within a month. I'll post an update!

  • @nopeno648
    @nopeno648 2 года назад +2

    so, I'm a contralto. supposedly. but I'm trying to work on my higher range. if my voice goes out when I'm trying to sing the higher notes, does that mean that I just can't hit those notes, or will I be able to if I just work at it and practice/exercise it? I don't want to strain or hurt myself if it's not really possible for me to hit the higher notes.

    • @mandarinadreux9572
      @mandarinadreux9572 2 года назад +3

      I think you will be able to hit them after a while. I'm an alto too but after years of singing soprano, I've become able to reach super high notes. I think it'll just come the longer you train your head voice. Good luck!

    I am having a hard time with the last exercise - I have a smooth transition going up between my chest and head voice through mix, but coming down I have a definite flip down into chest once I get to about a D4 or C4. Any advice?

    • @EmiPellegrinoMusic
      @EmiPellegrinoMusic 4 года назад +5

      Hi there ! Certified voice teacher here , just so you don't think I'm a rando lol You're probably transitioning into a falsetto without even realizing . If you have a very smooth transition between your chest and falsetto , it could sound like head voice ! But that would be why the flip is happening on the way down . Transitioning back INTO chest voice is harder than getting out of it !
      Moral of the story: Reeeeaaally make sure you're actually transitioning into head voice rather than a reinforced falsetto :)

      @@EmiPellegrinoMusic how can I tell the difference?

    • @junaidesse
      @junaidesse 3 года назад +2

      @@ellezee1705 I think proper head voice is stronger. And I think here, when we say head voice, we're actually talking about a head dominated mix. Not pure head voice just yet
