Paul you are always looking for things that need sorting whilst doing the task in hand ,preventing those becoming more of a problem and more expensive to fix your a top lad and know your stuff 👍👨🏻🏭🇬🇧
Hi Paul, your dead right I try and always move methodicly on a car like this it is very important to keep your eyes over to spot the gafs befour they become big problems.
@@HREIRL I really enjoy your videos because 50 years ago i grew up re-building Minis, Morris, MG and eventually Leyland cars with my dad, who was just like you. He could do anything and explain it as he was doing it. i thought I knew everything but each week i learn something new. You are helping new generations keep their cars on the road who might not have had the benefit of a dad like mine. What I would love to see one week is a video on what the average, hobby workman can do to improve the A series engine without a huge workshop and a big bank account. In my day all we could do was sling on some Webbers, polish the head and the open up the manifold and perhaps change the cam and valves but I am sure things have progressed a long way now to getting those extra 5 or 10 HP without turning the engine into a race engine. Anyway keep up the great work.
There's a slim Spal fan that fits beautifully inside those shrouds (Aussie minis all have those rad shrouds) but you want to mount it to the shroud and not the radiator as it wouldn't allow for engine movement.
@@HREIRL there's some pictures of mine here: www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/253043-spot-the-micra-mini/page-2 Note because mine is an engine conversion my radiator is mounted to the body and the fan is mounted to the radiator. The fit is so good it seems incredible it wasn't made for the mini.
@@sandman_1071 as above, inside the shroud, but in my case on the radiator because the radiator is mounted to the inner wing / shroud. There's pictures and specs in the link above.
Paul. Great Video! I heard of a race Mini, that had the reverse radiator flow. Taking colder air from the wheel well and not from the engine bay, but had to block the front grill and take the left lamp off. Could this method work?
Nice kit & nicely presented. Why not just run the electric fan and do away with the belt driven fan? Seems having two will just cause less flow potential when only the belt driven one is operating.
Hi man the customer uses the car as a daily driver and for the most part the std fan dose the job this is just a bit of added security for long stays in trafic. Flow wise this fan auto spins once the main engine fan runs. so very little restriction
Is the regular cooling affected by the fan being so close to the radiator? I just purchased a mini with the fan inside the wheel arch, i think your mounting spot is better for electric cooling, but I'm worried about impeding air flow when the fan is not activated. Thanks!
My thumb(89)is for a relaxed enjoyable vid.P.S.i had a really nice brittool 10mm that i lent out and they lost it,i,m still pissed about that. cheers. pps,i,ve subscibed on the strength of this vid lol.
Thanks Mike, I greatly appreciate the subscription. Im glad you found the video relaxing and Enjoyable to watch. Im too long in the tooth to be rushing around anymore. My motto is a job takes as long as a job takes to do correctly 👍👍
You can learn a lot about who worked on a car before you, by the things you find. Jam nuts loss, jam nuts rounded off, no lube on wheel studs, hose clips facing the wrong way......
21:50 Hose clips pointing the same way 👍😀 and people thought it was just me that was mad
Haha I taught you might spot that lol you know what they say Keith normality is +1

That fan set up is a tidy bit of kit, keep up the great work.
Thanks man, Ya a really well engineered bit of kit that fit really well well taught out 👍
Cracking job once again Lads 👍
Thanks dude 👍
Nice one Paul, very informative and entertaining as usual
Thanks Stewart glad you enjoyed
Good stuff mate! Keep em coming.
Thanks Phil ill do my best 👍
Another inspiring video
Thanks buddy hope it helps some folks out 👍
Nice funnel! :-) I feel like it might be single-use.....
Single-use for sure bit environmentally friendly 😛
Revotec also has a sensor for the radiator with plug (SPI). I would go with this.
Thank you once again.
My pleasure! Kevin 👍

i think thats the fan this kit is based on 👍👍

Inside the shroud on the inner wing or on the radiator? Got any part numbers or photos?

Liking that mod for my clubman (saloon). Somethings got to said for that carbon fibre bracket though eh? 😄
Its a great kit 👍

cant see why not but as you say would re quire some careful taught as to the passage of air flow
A 7mm socket makes undoing those jubilee clips so much easier.
Also M10 isn't 10mm spanner size, more likely 17mm. 10mm spanner is more like M6. ;)
Well spotted buddy slip of the tongue

Nice one Paul but stop giving me ideas for things I need to do to the Traveller lol
Hahah sorry buddy what can I say I’m just indirectly trying to help you make it the best traveler in the country 😀
@@HREIRL thanks ... appreciate it 😎

Hi Ryan appricate the props 👍. I have a plan for some HIF 44 basic tuning videos in the near future.
Got a partnumber for this kit?
Not off hand but I believe if you search on mini spares for fan kit its one of the first to come up :)
