Excellent explanation.....I was having a hard time understanding LOD and I have to admit that through your tutorials I was able to understand LOD. Thank you so much.
Hi thanks for this video, how would you display what the actual top subcategory is within that category? as in can you make a calculated field that will say "Tables" for the top subcategory in furniture?
hey, can you tell me how can we build a drop down list selecting multiple months which has different color of graphs ( example- if i select any 2 months color of graph would be RED and if I select any 3 months, graph would be of BLUE color and so on) using include ,exclude and parameter to make this happen
I didn't pick one, I have videos for both fixed and exclude LOD calculations too (although, as you say, they all work in a similar way) - Fixed is here: ruclips.net/video/8iXXjODMk-I/видео.html and Exclude is here: ruclips.net/video/bRNi5ehIm2Q/видео.html
@Nancy (Nan) Yang The easiest way to think about it is Fixed LOD calculations always keep the level of detail the same, regardless of any other dimensions in the view. Include calculations always include the dimension, but they also include any other dimensions in the view. Exclude means the field is always excluded, but other dimensions in the view will be excluded. Thats it in a nutshell - fixed is always calculated at the same, include and exclude are dynamic, and change depending on the other dimensions you're using in you're view.
Wow awesome and simple explanation 👏👏👏
really great work! unlike other unnecessary long tutorials, this explains the Essentials by playing with samples!

can you explain why did you use "Include"? since "Fixed" works the same way. Thanks
