- A compilation of quadcopter FAIL! Everything done by myself. Lots of equipment destroyed. Absolutely NO people harmed. Fly Safe. Eventually I learned to fly: • Quadcopter FPV Winter ...
I agree with you wholeheartedly, I assembled a bunch of parts from Hobby King and built a quadcopter from the ground up. I have learned so much from doing this that no youtube video could have taught me. I too have had crashes and was able to fix my quadcopter myself. However the last crash forced me to move onto version 2.0. I was able to use some parts from version 1.0.
Fantastic! This makes me feel better about my efforts. I'm still not a great pilot but I have developed an advanced building skillset.
if my quad had a camera the footage would be pretty similar! Also totally agree with buying parts and DIY - much more educational, repairable, upgradable, and a lot more fun than just another toy out of a box
Built my own also still learning cam is the next thing to get
Actually I think it's more practical to start with a cheap toy china quad to learn how to fly. They are also very easy to fix with spare parts widely available (and equally cheap). They also can fly very well

Agree! Just built my first two at the same time (one for acro and one for smooth FPV though).
epic! so many lols. DIY for the win!
what is the point of this you may just as well have kicked the camera about i want to see the QUAD crashing not pointless scenery rotating about does not achieve anything or add to anyones learning how to fly
