I've watched a lot of animes.. Over the last 20 something years.. But Steins;Gate has made me feel in a way that no other anime has before.. And this scene.. Jesus, the emotions that i had over watching a guy laugh like a maniac. Truly a masterpiece, which i will rewatch from time to time forever.
After having survived the most depressing season in any anime ever (and I've watched a damn lot), just hearing Okabe laugh again made me squeal. And then I started laughing like a madman myself. And it didn't even matter that the end of the episode resulted in failure, because hope had returned!
That's really how it was too, after taking several gut punches the anime/vn throws at you, this scene really brings it all back together. I was both tearing up and smiling the entire time. Hell, just hearing that laugh is powerful enough to bring back some emotion.

There’s a detail in the VN’s version of this scene I just love that got left out of the anime. When he first starts acting like Kyoma again, he feels awkward and self-conscious, but he pushes through it and acts like his old goofy self anyway. It’s not like he’s just his old self again; he doesn’t act that way just because he’s goofy and immature. He knows that kind of goofy joy and relentless spirit is what he needs, and he chooses it - now as a mature person. He doesn’t just become his old self again, he becomes a better version of his old self.

After watching the anime ive been thinking about the concept of incorporating a seemingly childish persona that you once could acces but lost access to due to the cruelty of the world (which you didnt realize beforehand) back into your personality, not as a crutch but as an enrichment of your more mature self. In other words, how does one breathe life into their Hououin Kyoma?

One of the most epic scenes in anime. When I first watched this scene, Daru punched Okabe in the face and I already knew what was about to transpire, I burst out laughing and when the great mad scientist came back I almost started crying. After that scene I had so many great emotions in me, I couldn't stop smiling

When this OST plays, it reminded me of how I ended my 2 years of depression and giving myself a second chance for the goal on what I am about to attain soon.
Just finished both series. MAN . Did I ever think I'd be as hyped as I was when a certain mad scientist start laughing. That was a definite earned moment for us fans who had to wait , like 16-17 episodes to hear him laugh again? Goosebumps. Goosebumps all around man
i watched season 1 and never bothered with season 2 because some ppl were saying that it wasn't as good, i just finished watching it and omg it was a masterpiece, i'm in tears. top 3 anime for sure, and the ost just crazy.
No anime series could make me more emotionally attached than Steins; Gate. It's really too sad even chilling and the soundtracks are just ❤️ Believe it or not, when I hear this OST, I get goosebumps often!

I love how this theme contrasts with Okabes character. It has a sad and exciting feel to it, same as the time when Kyuoma returned, the excitement of him coming back and the episodes before him being a guilt ridden man, the sad part.
