Great Comparison, John. And your video is recent, compared to others 😊 I lived in Florida; currently living in PA. Can't do snow and cold; was looking to return to Florida soon. (Recently retired). I think SC is an option. I'm looking to rent for about a year; don't know all the areas where quiet and affordability mesh in SC. Of course, an area close to Myrtle Beach would be Ideal! I welcome any links and comments. Thanks!! Phil
Arizona. I don't know why Arizona doesn't come into this comparisons. No hurricanes, better mountains, proximity to all the beauty of California, Utah, Colorado, Vegas, etc. I know that you are referring to the South East mainly, but in planned communities, 55+ communities, snowbirding, RV winter camping, Arizona started the trend and still scores very high
While Arizona is nice as I have only been to Pheonix/Chandler areas, Its 6 months of a super-hot oven and 6 months of great weather. It may be a dry heat but 100+ temps keep you indoors very often. The biggest difference IMHO is there is no ocean water close by in AZ. Living in Mass all my life, i like that option to head to the sea!
@JFedman only 4 months is hot oven. But I agree that SC makes more sense for Mass people. Also shorter commutes. AZ is more like for Midwest-Pacific NW people
Fall, winter and spring are fantastic. We rode a jetski on thanksgiving. Summer is warn, but handle it. Property taxes were low until house prices went crazy.
John, Definitely looking at Bluffton area .Visited Margaritaville and Sun City. We want to live in a retirement community with golf courses. What course are you on ? I want to live on a course but Margaritaville not associated with golf. I am very active so I want a retirement community that has lots of active folks.
Great video John! I was laughing my butt off! Yes Golf is FRUSTRATING! Take it from a fellow golfer! SC and HHI area will be our Southern locale for sure!
I hope you like this interesting comparison between Florida and South carolina

Thanks Adrian. I’m sure Arizona is beautiful, I haven’t lived there so tough to compare.

That’s Moss Creeks golf course.
Don't forget about issues with getting home insurance flood insurance in FL? And property taxes for homes are wayyyy-different, right?
Very true!

Thanks!
I have ZERO interest in Florida. SC had so much more to offer
Thank you!
Dominos might be perfect then.
I’ll give golf one more try!
Hey John, Nice comparison. In past videos you mentioned "Liked minded people ". Can you do a demographic comparison video?
Thanks for the suggestion!
SC or Florida? There are 48 better places.
Thanks for watching
Wrong about older people in Florida! Hispanic population is younger and taking over the older population. Retires cannot afford it anymore,
Thanks for watching!
