Wether this is canon or not, you can't deny the Doctor and Romana's chemistry in several episodes, even if it was mostly from Tom and Lalla being in love. Asexual? Yeah right, I heard Lalla once said something to the effect that she and Tom fell in love because the Doctor and Romana were.
I am actually against romance for the most part, and acting "asexual", but Romana was his own species so it made sense that they would have a romance... it always seemed right to me.

wow! I am a big Dr. Who fan, and also a programmer who programmed on Prime Computers for years. These computers were prevalent in government, manufacturing, and sales for many years. The operating system and languages on these boxes were used even in Nuclear Power Plants and are still a strong component of computer software for Higher Education. I never knew my favorite doctor hawked them on TV.
