Bought this system after the product of one of your competitors (who will remain unnamed) stopped working properly. The setup and installation was a breeze in comparisson. The hardware is of more modest size while giving equal to slightly better performance. Its also a treat to be able select the order in which satellites should connect to eachother wirelessly. Well done, TP-link! It is a wonderfull product.
After i establish the connection with the main router via eithernet cable, will the eithernet cable remain connected? Or i can remove it and move my Deco anywhere in my home without any wiring except the power cable? Basically, the eithernet cable, i connect it in the set up only then i remove it?
If I buy the xe75-2 pack now, then in a year or so find I need another module .. can just one of them be purchased and added to the other 2? Where can I find just one unit when that time comes ?
@@TPLINKTECH So it’s automatic? I didn’t see anything in Deco settings stating it’s automatic. I have another question. I just purchased the XE75 yesterday and was able to load everything but now my iPhone 13 cannot connect to the Deco WiFi. I thought my phone had WiFi 6 and changed the SSID name on Deco on WiFi 6 but didn’t work and then I disabled WiFi 6 now can’t connect my phone. Any ideas? Thank you
When you change the SSID do you have to restart the gateway Att modem after for new SSID to take effect? I’m using my XE75 as access point . I changed it and it doesn’t let me connect WiFi anymore. I had to use the Guest network.
Is it possible to pass the internet through the RJ45 cable from my modem into the back of each Mesh individually? My modem has 4 output port and 1 coaxil input.
No, even if the modem is in itself a router as well and those are switch ports you still can only have one unit connected to the source You could connect a small switch to the main unit and then connect the other units to that to accomplish this though.
Deco is designed to be a replacement. While it can work with another router you would want to put it in AP mode to remove possible interference or performance concerns.
@@RockerAyden123 yup, simple switch in the app. But its been 2 months, you've probably found it. Also, if the other router already has DHCP on (assigning IP adresses), turn the one on the TP-link off.
I set mine up as a router and ethernet stopped working. Also happened despite having (slower) wifi internet access .Ran out of time to troubleshoot so put the isp router back in and set up deco as an access point. Works now with better speed but i do want it to run as intended. The data light on my line box also went amber until the isp router was put back in place. What the best why to resolve this. Internet service is FTTP
I do not know who that ISP is but based on what you are saying it sounds like the ISP requires a special setup. I would reach out to them to find out how a 3rd party router needs to be setup to use on their service. Then you can reach out to your Regional TP-Link support team for assistance in applying that configuration.
@@TPLINKTECH it's fibre to the property. I have a line box that converts the fibre to ethernet then the ISP provided router. Will reach out to them. Hopefully I can get sorted as I wanted to use the protections and parental controls available.
When you go to enable the 6GHz feature you also need to configure the SSID, password and security for the band. If you are doing this then we would recommend reaching out to support for assistance.
I am very disappointed that the maximum speed is 300 mbps. My internet provider offered us an add-on router for the bedroom but it was a WiFi 5 router that was considered slow (550 mbps) which is why I decided to "upgrade" XE75. The main router from my ISP gives 800+ WiFi speeds , with a maximum 1GB Ethernet connection. Why isn’t the deco giving me a fast connection? Even when I tried the 6E network on my brother’s iPhone 15. This is making me want to sell it and get the Velop Pro instead.
The Deco XE75 is not limited to 300 Mbps. It offers 1Gbps Ethernet ports so the WAN speed has a maximum of 1Gbps or 1000 Mbps. Wireless speeds however can greatly vary depending on several factors. These factors include distance, connected node, bandwidth requirements, network demand and usage, connected band and the network adapter of the client device. For your situation, since you have a router from your ISP you may actually be experiencing Double NAT, if both router are in router mode. I suggest removing the ISP router if you can or if that router is also your modem, put it into bridge mode so there is only one device acting as an router in your network.
The main purpose of a 1-pack is to be used as an add-on unit. If you only have 1 Deco unit yes it has to be next to the modem or other source of internet, like an ISP router or 3rd party router. The Main Deco has to be physically connected. Satellite units can be wireless and remote.
Not as an extension of the existing wireless signal. What you can do is Put it in AP mode and disable the Fios Router's wireless and have it operate as your networks wireless signal.
@@wearepros1000 No, it would only disable the wireless being broadcast from the Fios router. The rest of its router function would still function. That is ideal in this situation. You do not generally want more than one device generating a wireless signal in the same network area as the two signals could actually interfere with each other.
After plugging the Deco Towers into the Wireless enabled modem with a cable, it seems there's no way to run the Deco Towers without one of them being plugged in with an ethernet cable. This to me seems unnecessary; I have an existing wireless network I'm just trying to expand it, not attach a daisy chain of towers to it. Is there a way to maintain the functionality without having them plugged in via ethernet cable?
This is because the Deco Mesh system is not a range Extender. It does not link to an existing wireless but creates its own, with one unit acting as a base. This base unit needs to stay connected to the source of the internet to ensure the network it creates is online. To get the most out of your purchase you will want to disable the router and wireless features of your gateway (modem) and let the Deco act as the router for the network
@@TPLINKTECH I sure did but the gateway needs to be working. So I am getting double NAT if I select Router mode on the decos. This is just the end of the line with the ISP
@@CristianGuzman27 Yes unfortunately if your ISP is locking you down using their provided router (gateway) then if the Deco is in router mode it would be Double NAT.

You have to first have a 6GHz compatible device, then you need to change it from Backhaul only to Client and backhaul. Lastly, create a network name and password. You do want the network name to be different then the unified network being used by the 2.4 and 5GHz.
