I was going to Mels when he first opened... it has half its size then, I grew up in Temple Terrace..I need to make a trip for that Mighty Mel Basket if its still there
I'm sure the sheriff guy will come on in a few weeks and tell us about a 2 year investigation on msg being added into the hotdogs which led to 48 arrests, 7 guns retrieved, 450 lives saved, and 3 more people on the run.

And there’s some grievance, some underlying trauma or abuse or brokenness underneath all that. Could be mental illness, could be lack of employment or lack of an education. That’s why they become vulnerable to the messages and the narratives of these extremist groups. Because they are looking for somebody to blame for the problems that they have, and they’re not equipped to deal with them.
I lived in Tampa from 2002 until 2010, and we used to go there quite often because it is a great hotdog. The only problem was they’re really expensive. Outside of that pretty good. I have to say though if you head down the street a little bit there’s a Cuban sandwich place called Rubens Cubans that are absolutely to die for. The street that Mel’s hotdogs on has some of the best restaurants in all of Tampa and Busch Gardens so it’s hard to say no to that area.

My dad took me here all the time and I still go many years later as an adult
I always drive by here and have been wanting to try it but this place it always packed. I’ll have to be sure to stop by sometime
