If we’re going to be pedantic there’s a difference between a rifled musket and a rifle musket. In this era, you’re going to see rifle muskets in the way of things like Pennsylvania rifles. By the American Civil War, arsenals were rifling smoothbores to accommodate improved ammunition like the Burton ball. If a long arm was manufactured with rifling its a rifle musket. If a long arm was manufactured a smoothbore and then later converted to a rifle it’s a rifled musket.
Tried this yesterday day basically won the battle infantry and cave 99 percent routed I still have 2k guys 8 full cannons units proceed to just decimate me if you ever see 8 cannon units chilling by each other just go the other way
Did they update the way groups move and get in line? The Civil War version was so sluggish, and not by speed, but getting in line, the groups would spin in circles, or just be way off the mark lol, made 0 sense. I hope they tweaked the game more, seems they may have
In the previous game, when playing shorthanded, you'd want to pump the Stamina perks so that you can outflank the enemy easier. If you're playing the Americans in this game, using fire and maneuver tactics, I'd think that Stamina would be more important than discipline.
I can’t wait to buy this game ❤ I plan on playing as both the British loyalties campaign and the American continental army campaign . We are finally getting a game about the revolutionary war , assassin creed 3 was the only other game that touched on this war . Enough about ww2 ! we need more games that focus on the American Revolutionary War and the American civil war . And the French and Indian war . Great gameplay by the way .
i agree. i'm honestly bored with WW2 games. i was hoping for Empires total war 2 for more than a decade. it's just sad that it never happened. i remember playing old pc game of civil war from history channel. it was a great first person shooting game where you can play either sides. darkest of days was great too but it only had a few and selective civil war battles and missions, it had a lot of potential
Honestly I’ve taken Boston a lot but the main issue I’m having is cash. I always end up with very little and eventually run out of stuff I can sell. For some reason I colony management I can’t see any taxation revenue, says zero. No way to play around with taxation. Am I missing something?
From expirience in age of sail. Willpower is better for mele troops you plan to charge in, rout a unit or 2 and pull back to rest. Endurable is better for shooters, as they get tired over time reloading their guns, and the ones get tired slower lose morale slower and therefore hold out for longer.

Been playing this game and the toughest thing so far has been not knowing any of the underlying mechanics of the game, like making soldiers hold or forming brigades, SPENDING REPUTATION!!!. Can you make a video going over some of these hidden game mechanics?
I prefer going for Stamina instead of willpower.. I never had any issue of low morale, but I often get exhaustion without all the bonuses. fyi, I always make sure the troops start a battle at max con c ondition
Hartford starting out for the Americans is a nice touch given that the governor of Connecticut, Jonathan Trumball Sr., was the only pre-war colonial governor to side with the revolution against the British and he continued to be governor after the war. After Concord the British asked Trumball for help and he promptly told them to shove, calling them worse than barbarians. Connecticut then proceeded to provide food at key times to the American and French forces through the war.

Glad to see Im not the only one having issues transitioning to the formation line drawing instead of the TW way of clicking and dragging the direction you want them to face XD
Q if I may … it’s been said by others that if you completely wipe out a British unit / company they are taken off the board and not able to reform and thus return to the battlefield later in the game . If this is correct in the ‘battle’ for Lexington & Concord would you be able to surround the British given the superior numbers available and thus wipe out an army not just a few companies?
Pretty sure there is absolutely NO carry over from that battle. I know you weren't asking me, but I have forced the surrender of British every unit in that battle... I noted no difference later on.
Anyone else getting the bug where you can't initiate battles with the little icon ? Like it doesn't show up and they just stand on the campaign map shooting each other ? If anyone knows what's wrong please let me know cause it's a pain !
@@josh9930 one of the issues Ive found is that when my forces are all together in a brigade the enemy doesn't seem to want to engage but when they are split into their individual regiment's the icon popped up alot more often
May I say you got lucky sir? AI left Boston and more over, he split his army on 2! Will play my 4th game now and in my previous 3 I never seen AI left Boston. Also I want ask what next? You got a pretty well british army at Middleborough and a lesser one at Salem. Attacking Middleborough you will suffer many casualties and dealing with northern british army after that would be tricky. Same if you go north, southern british can push on your rearguard. Also I have a question: If you take Portsmouth, Salem, Boston and Newport, will british get reinforcement like before or that zerg rush will stop?
Hey Jackie, Would you happen to know if there is a POW system? Because it seems that you can force some units to surrender during battle but the game doesn't mention those POWs anymore once you go back to the strategic view. In older Total War games like Medieval 2, you can execute prisoners to create a dread general or ransom/release them to create a chivalric general.

Not rifles, but muskets :) There were rifled muskets among some skirmisher troops, rare stuff though.

The AI is surprising. It'll actually fall back from a fight it cannot win to try and goad you out of cover.

I find Morale boost to be better on Militia units and Endurance is better on theProfessional units.

I've had that happen, i think you just need to move your general closer to the fighting for it to pop up

They can still land troops/reinforce from Canada but taking those cities definitely clears up your borders

I think that system isn’t full implemented yet, they mentioned on the discord about having prisoner swap events and being able to build prison camps
