Cool stuff. I shoot sports but always want to expand into new areas. I have family involved in motocross. I think I will get involved. I have an R6 but really looking hard at the R3 with current sales. I also need a big fast lens, since my old ef 300mm mark 1 finally failed. For Friday Night Lights mainly. Thanks for sharing on the R3.
The R6 is an amazing camera. I was using it with my R5 when they first released. I would focus on getting faster lens then the R3. IMO, the R6/ R5 do a really good job. I use my R5 75% of the time.
Cool video. R3 images look very crisp and clean. Some reviewers even said the R3 images look like the 30 mp 5D4 in terms of detail. I shoot birds and need more mp. My R5 is great for that. But I need one more body. I am waiting for the R1.
Thank you Kenneth. I appreciate it. Yes, I agree, very clean and I haven't heard too many bad things about the quality. I can't wait for the R1, but I know it will hurt my wallet really bad haha.
Did you every buy a new camera? We are in a weird spot where you will probably see a R1 and R5 Mark II. I love my R5 and usually use it more than my R3.
Greatest sport on the planet!! Been a racer and shooter for decades. Thanks for posting! You should check out an outdoor Pro Motocross National. They are amazing as well.
Thanks Tom. I appreciate it. I usually try to shoot one outdoor race a year. What's your favorite outdoor track? Check out @Octopi.media on Instagram. I work with them from time to time.
@@LNPhotos10 Been following Octopi for a few years. Those guys are amazing! I mostly shoot Unadilla for RacerX. It's my hometown National track. Started shooting there in the early 80's. Shot Thunder Valley a couple times. I'd love to shoot the whole outdoor circuit. It's just been a hobby for me but now that i'm retired I have a little more flexibility. I'm nowhere near as skilled as the pros like you, however I did get two double page images published in RacerX magazine the past few years. The highlight of my career! lol No really, it is... I just picked up the R5 a few days ago. My 1DX crapped out on me a week ago. Loved that camera. I didn't want to spend the $$ for the R3. I'll see how the R5 works out for me. I usually carry two cameras when I shoot. My other one is a 7D mkll. Maybe down the road i'll add the R3. Just not in the cards right now.
@@tomacquilano1304 Oh cool! Good friends of mine. One day I will shoot Unadilla. I hear it's one of the best outdoor tracks. You will love the camera and you don't need an R3. I use my R5 more than the R3. There are some learning qwirks, but you will figure it out over time. Feel free to message me on IG @LNPHOTOS. I am more responsive there.
Man I’ve got a Sony a9ii and a7rV with a lot of glass and the hype behind the r3 is really making me consider swapping over. Currently on the grind to get to arena/supercross one day would love to see more 🤙
Sony is a great platform. What is really great about Sony is that you have other lens options than just Sony. Switching has it pros and cons. I would recomment renting some gear long term to really see if it's worth it.
Loved this video. So much information I needed about the R3. Currently have the R6 and I love it, using it with EF 135 F2L and EF 300 F4LIS to shoot supremoto/motocross and hugely love the setup. Was thinking about getting an R5/R3 as a second body (need to send the R6 to replace shutter cause of a bubble on the shutter curtain after less than 10000 shots...) didn't think about an RF 70-200 simply because for where I shoot, outside tracks, its more useful a longer lens, like the EF300F2.8LII I'm looking for. Anyway, do you reccomend me a R6m2 as a second body over the R3? I'll love a your response. Thank you! Keep up with that great content
Hey, sorry for the late response. As much as I love the R3, I don't usually recommend it unless you are shooting sports and making a living while doing it. That's my opinion. I had the R5 and R6 at one point and loved it. I still tend to gravitate to my R5 over the R3. If you get an R5 and use the crop function, you can get more focal distance but still have decent MP. I know some of the guys that shoot Ama outdoors do this. I hope that helps you.
IMO, that's a tricky question. The switch to RF is expensive, but do you plan to make that switch? If you want megapixels, I would say the R5. The R6 in theory is a 1DxIII. I would only recommend the R3 if you are a working professional that shoots mostly events. I hope that helps.
I would disagree. There are still challenges. You still need to know what your camera can do, lighting, experience. The tools nowadays just make it easier to get what you need done.

I’ve been trying to find videos like this, this is my dream job, love to see more videos like this👌
Thanks Eric. I appreciate it. Keep grinding at it and hustle hard.
This was an awesome BTS and the sort of event the r3 seems built for! That must have been tons of fun!
Thanks Travis. I really appreciate it. I love supercross and I can't wait to shoot more with the R3

I shoot a ton of high school sports debating between the R3 and R5
Me too. Did you make the jump yet? What did you decide?

@ that’s the reason I haven’t switched really is for the lenses. Third party isn’t great and RF is so expensive. Good advice thanks!

what is the red thing you have on your shutter button?
Hi Chris, it's called a ProDot by Custom SLR. amzn.to/3HmBamT

How to get 30 fps ??? It’s coming only 12-14fps with electronic shutter with cf express
You shooting in H+? When i use my ef 300mm with tele converter it slows down. What lens combo you use? Got it sorted now?
Like what HilleCine said, are you on H+? Also you need to be on RF lenses.
