Nope - the technology is allowing photogs to concentrate on the all-important composition without having to worry about focussing - to my mind, that's an advantage. One could argue that I could get decent results from my Z6 & manual focus 500mm f8 reflex combo but I'd bet I'd get 2% hit rate instead of >90%. I'd also need to do a lot of PP'ing sharpening & contrast tweaks but that'a a different story.

Disagree. Car photographers are a dime a dozen. Good car photographer however stand out, whether it’s through their personal style, their proper technique, their attention to detail or the combination of all of those.
Real car photographers have been very clear in the last couple months that car specific shooting modes don’t help them be better. Cars are already very contrasty and the rest of a good car photo have nothing to do with focus. This isn’t going to make people good car photographers, it will just help their photos be in focus.
Nah. I've shot subjects like this with 100% manual 40 year old film cameras. While not impossible, it was far from ideal. I couldn't be as creative as I wanted with composition, exposure, shutter speed, color, etc because I was constantly fighting just to get the shot at all. This is overkill for most things, but specifically for sports, vehicles, and wildlife you don't get many 2nd chances. Imagine your tracking a moose for a week in fatally cold conditions, then ask yourself again if you want features like this. Especially considering you don't have to expose your hands to adjust focus.
Since it is often difficult to get close to wildlife, having the 45MP of the R5 has allowed me to crop and get better close up pictures of wildlife. I use an EF converter & Sigma 150-600mm C lens on my R5. The 30 fps of the R3 might be better for birds in flight, but with 20 fps the R5 doesn't leave me feeling too deprived.
