I need to replace power cord for my portable AC. I saw both LCDI and GFCI plugs having similar Reset and Test buttons at Amazon. Can I buy the cheaper GFCI plug for my application? Thanks
@@Belneons thank you I have a 10,000 BTU 7,000 DOE but it uses 11.5 Amps I was wondering if 13Amps 120 V Power Cord would be ok to use. I dont have the plug on me to check which size I need at the moment. thank you for your video
@@Hannelore7 yeah rereading my comment I wasnt being precise! I meant to say that i bought an amazon brand but it has the same specs as the burnt one. Mine burnt because of the surge protector not being up to standards lmao
The power cord short-circuits due to high voltage during bad weather or the power outlet is giving out too much power and because the wiring of the house wasn’t properly handled. It’s either you fix the wiring or you buy those surge protective extension cord
Ok, so I got the damn thing apart, but am lost at this point. I have a toshiba ac portable unit RAC PD1213 and it does not look the same inside. I tried looking for a video on changing the plug on my model and no luck so far. Anyone have any ideas?

You unscrew it.
I've been told moisture buildup inside the wire tripping the power cord
Was the unit turning on before you changed the wire?
You have to turn off AC and pull the cord off outlet before you proceed to disassemble any appliance.

Thanks. I ended up using the same brand power cord. I am able to find the exact part number from that AC brand site.
what size BTU is this? You used 15 amp 120 v Power cord
This is 7,000 BTU’s and 15 AMP, 120 VOLT, 1800 WATTS

Yours only use 11.5 amps, so 13 amps power cord can be used.
Sorry one more queation. Does the cord have to be the brand for my Machine? Or just as long as I have the numbers correct and the letters?
I think so! Im about to try it today!

Did buy an extension cord but its the same specs as well, only because i barely have any ports in my room, and they are FAR apart
Where you ordered the power cord from
Amazon store
How is the cord now? Any problems?
Nothing Still Running Excellent
What caused the electrical cord to short out my guess is not a heavy enough extension cord
That why were all here 😔

Do not used power cords many cable so that cause shortage power only directly to the wall outlet recommended if you want to keep running the unit.
@@BelneonsIt says you can use a power bar
Nope.
