A sad day oh so many memories smashed to dust.... 13h jamaica tower i salute you for being the backdrop to the happiest days of my life :(
so many memories zapped. 80s hulltoon was good times
I remember as a wee girl going to visit my dad and uncle when they were part of the team that helped build them. It was winter and really freezing and the men were all running up and down ladders with bricks and mortar. Both my dad and uncle are gone now, but seeing this brought back many memories of them.
Heartbroken at this. Every child/ teen memory smashed. Family and roots gone
I get it. I was devestated. a whole childhood crumbled. memories of those we loved and the times had.
grew up in Ann Street, sad to see these flats come down.
Fantastic quality when you select the 1080 setting- easily the best of the countless RUclips uploads!
Looks like you put a bit of planning into getting a good position, as well as using a tripod- and it clearly paid off. Also guessing the camera you used was a high-quality one as well (not one of those cheap "HD" ones with a tiny sensor and lens!)
I lived on the 17th Floor of Jamaica Tower, for 15 years of my life....So many memories there, They went down too quick though :(
I use to live in 5H Carnegie Tower, the security guys were always so polite and cheerful... and then when I decide to apply for return of PPI I found my old postcode didn't exist as someone had blown it up and built a school on on... weird..
someone filled up there buffer there haha, hey man it was me that bumped into you down at grassy beach car park tonight you got some great videos on here. subbed 😀
already the city looks so much better =D
Nicely done! Very neat!
Best thing to happen to the city. It was the most crime ridden location in Scotland and in the weeks following the demolition violent crime dropped by 34%, there were 72% less instances of drug related crime and there has been two murders since, as opposed to the nine in as many months leading up to the demolition.
Great video. What camera was used to film this? Brilliant quality.
Brilliant -the seagulls flying next to the multis must have got the "fleg o their life!"
nice capture, well done
Nicely captured. Are there any residential tower blocks left in Dundee?
amazing video, good view
Great vid well done
DUNDEE 🏴🏴🏴
This must have caused millions of pounds worth of improvements to the area.
heartbreaking. all my memories crumbled to shit.
@djdizastor exactly. wish i could come for a visit some time. best days of my life were in dundee
Gotta feel sorry for the poor guy sitting in his house across the street, the one guy who didn't get the memo. Just happily eating cornflakes, and BOOM. Apocalypse on your doorstep. :3
I COME FROM DUNDEE!!!!!
Binladin Would be proud
Buti man never seen so much dust in my entiyer life
about time they demo'd those awful things
Pity the poor neighbours who forgot to get their washing in ;)
Simply because they were 'ugly'. That's why they got rid of not just the Hilltown multis but the other ones too
GREAT VIDEO GOOD SET UP AND A GOOD VANTAGE POINT !!!!! PRIOR PREPARATION PREVENTS PISS POOR PERFORMANCE TEN OUT OF TEN OLD CHAP !!!!!!!!
How sad that people cheered. 6,000 flats demolished by the council in a few short years. And now there's 8,000 people on the housing list and private rents are now extortionate. Nobody's cheering now.
should of left all those tinks in the houses when it came down
i was there 2 but a different part
I lived in Bucklemaker for a while.
Nice flat.
Just like 911 inside job
They missed a lot of other buildings! ... and the taxpayers paying for it!!
What a scandalous event🤦♂️🤦♂️
Anybody? No? Dust!
thats the only exitment dundonians get
"Dust anyone, dust?" < Quote from Little Britain.
Now only the rich will get a birds eye view, how dare the poor even think of living up so high, this is backwards not forwards.
