- In 1966 spy stories were in the movies and TV. 007, I Spy, Man from U.N.C.L.E. In like Flint , Matt Helm. Get Smart, etc. Here we follow Ivan A spy to find out why the 1966 Mercury's are so great. Part 2 Selling the 1966 Mercury
I just loved the one-year-only tail lights on the Monterey line. Same with the 1962. Strange pattern Mercury had there - 61 had the 3 tail lights which came back for 63/64. 65 had the vertical 2-part tail lights which came back in 67/68
Always the bastard middle stepchild Mercury. Sometimes tried to be a fancied up Ford or an austere Lincoln. I've owned four Mercs - 2 Colony Parks and 2 Grand Marquis. They were all excellent cers
Yes I definitely did notice there's no ext rear view mirrors on these showcars, I wonder why?
That time capsule has it all, captured 1965-66 behavior, style, music, filming style, promoting female ownership, and the S-55.
This commercial has praised me of my taste in the finer things in life! I'll have to rush to my Lincoln-Mercury Dealership and get me the top of line Park Lane.
Did anyone notice the Ann Margaret look a like and the playing of kettledrums as she ascended the stairs? Priceless in misogynism humor for a guy not born till '68, but sadly our punitive karma coming to collect today.
Last full size Mercury 2dr sedan. Fading fast among the mid-price segment, though they hung on at Ford, Chevy and Plymouth for several more years.
This video obviously featured the full-sized 1966 Mercury lineup, as the new-for-that year intermediate-sized Comet is nowhere to found.
My fault not theirs. Comet segment and Lincoln have not been converted to MP4 yet. Will upload soon.

Oh! Why didn't Daddy buy a 66 Mercury? Trade in that 64 VW Bug and buy a real car! Something that when you floor the gas peddle it burns rubber and flies, instead of burp and belch and take 45 seconds to get to 60mph. A Dark blue Park Lane hard top with a 428 4BBl in it would suit me fine! Now I was only 4 years old, but I knew the VW didn't cut the mustard!!!
Who are these guys
How about that sectretary?
Beautiful car ! 👌
