It wss so Jetsons! I was 7yrs old. After seeing the Thunderbird I thought for sure that by the time I was old enough to drive there would be flying cars! 🤣👍
I remember playing in them as a kid the interior was like a Batman car all that chrome and the steering wheel that could move in all directions. Then came the hidden head lamps just amazing. That was a true American classic car. Cheers 🇨🇦
63 non Landau in silver mink was my first car, my folks bought it new and I got it 10 years later, drove it to high school 2 years then sold it I can say for sure it was trouble free and that exhaust system never failed after 12 years not 3 (maybe living in California helped) I loved it, girls loved it but not as much as the 72 Z28 I replaced it with.
The 1963 ford thunderbird was one of hottest car's ford ever made still has not lost it's popularity it's really sad that ford stop making these cars the ford thunderbird been popular for so many years I feel that the ford thunderbird will never lose its popularity
03:17 "This hood release is right here" (pointing to a lever sticking out of the grill, just above the front bumper). "Right where it's most convenient for the driver who doesn't have to bother with a release inside the car". If that isn't putting lipstick on a pig, it's pretty darned close. 😅 😂 🤣
Heavy steel Chrome plated bumpers, Stainless steel running down the topsides! Big block 390 V-8. I wonder if Ford made the same exact vehicle today part for part what would it cost?
I didn't know Ford had caught on that quickly, but they were paying attention. The first production car with an alternator was the 1960 Plymouth Valiant.
Buick Riviera was definitely a newer Style but the Thunderbird was the class leader in sales and popularity. And that Jet Inspired interior had no peer.

Ah, the "beep" sound of filmstrips. Children of the 50's 60's and 70's know it well.

I love that model year of Thunderbird. One of the best.
So do I. My dad had a 59 Thunderbird I loved it.
I took my drivers test when I was 16 in my Uncles's '63 Landau, Silver Mink with a black vinyl top and black interior. It was gorgeous.

The 63 looks the best with that crease and squared off front guard .
And that dashboard layout .
Just beautiful
This filmstrip is a great find. Thanks so much for sharing it.

They tried to turn a negative into a positive.
I thought the same thing!.. it truly is better to have the hood release safely inside the car.
San Francisco and Marin County in late 1962 doing that photo shoot with all those new T-Birds ......
It is a classic and beautiful car, but I prefer the model 1960, in my point of view the best among all Thunderbirdas ever made!
My favorite car , along with the Mercury Cougar !! I have owned one ( an 86' model ) for 6 years !! Thank you for sharing 😊
Good golly!!! I might just go to my local Ford dealer and buy me a brand new 1963 Ford Thunderbird right now!!!
Classic Jet Age Style
i'm waiting for the new 68's to come out so i can get my hands on the new 429 thunderjet motor
The background music and narrator are the same as with the Edsel in 1958...
Ford used the same tune and voiceover for the 58 Edsel
My grandparents had one, until someone stole it and parked it on the railroad tracks. 😢

I didn't realize 63 had an alternator instead of a generator.
I didn't know Ford had caught on that quickly, but they were paying attention. The first production car with an alternator was the 1960 Plymouth Valiant.
The rest of the Ford line was phased in thru 1965.
Whats with the dinging???
That is to let the projector operator to know to move to the next slide. The audio is from a record. Video from a film strip. The beep synced the two
1964 is when they changed the style. the '64 looks way nicer imo
What's a " Service Station attendant "?????????????
🤣🤣🤣
oh you lil youngins
They were part of "the good ole days" & take my word for it they really were the good ole days
I like the 64 better.
While the 'bird kept its sales lead, the new Riviera was both a more striking design and a better driving car.
They where both classic American beauties that we had the pleasure of enjoying.
Never to return.
Cheers 🇨🇦
