+Leonardo Baez Like he said in the beginning, it is much harder to find hidden features for a nexus device running pure android. It doesn't have any nifty features like Samsung, LG, etc. Except that it is pure android.
+Leonardo Baez Hard to believe since Marshmallow was just introduced in the fall of 2015, along with the 5X and the 6P. Probably stock Android features that Huawei chose not to emphasize over newer features. Remember the video is about "hidden" features not "new" ones.
I actually knew all about the ten things you mentioned, but I DIDN'T know about the two finger scroll for notifications. THAT is awesome. I can't believe I didn't know this.
Another couple of camera tips: - Double press the power button to quickly open the camera, whether your screen is off or you are doing something else on the phone. - the volume buttons can be used to take a picture, which is great for one handed use as sometimes the shutter button on screen is out of reach or hard to find.
honestly, I don't usually waste my time watching these types of videos BUT....even despite being Android and NP6 savvy, it was definitely worth the watch. Nice stuff.
Excellent! I made the changes concerning battery percentage, Bluetooth scanning, long press and pulse light. Plus I will from now on use that camera zoom technique. Many thanks - the best Nexus 6p 'hidden features' type video!
Hey man, great video and thanks for all of the tips! Quick question for you, do you know if there is a way to have the ringtone/ notification volume turned all the way off, so that the phone won't vibrate for an incoming call or notification? Basically just muting the phone with vibrate off. I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks!
That was a pretty great video. One additional thing I like to do is to use different voices for Google Now and Text to Speech so I have a British man or woman reading off my text. Just go to Settings > Language and Input > Text to Speech Engine > Language > English (United Kingdom) and your voice playbacks will have a British accent. Then go to Install Voice Data, choose English (UK) > and download and select the British Male voice. You can do the same thing with an Indian woman English accent, which sounds great as well.
Wow, you must have really done your research to find these hidden features on a Nexus phone. I consider myself a hardcore Android power user, but I was surprised to find out that most of your tips I didn't know already.
another related tip regarding double tap to zoom: this also works in the browser and photos. double tap and hold the finger on the second tap - now move finger up and down to zoom in and out. in photos you need to be zoomed in already for it to work.
the bluetooth scanning feature for location accuracy works with bluetooth beacons (in stores, sporting stadiums, etc.); one of the many assisting steps for higher accuracy in location services
Not particularly limited to the 6P as someone else mentioned, but still a very helpful video! I have all of these features on my CM13 ROM and now use them because of your video. So thanks!
Great video! The Pulse notification light was hidden in plain sight lol I can't believe i never saw it! i'm so glad this phone has one i'm stoked! Anyway, can you show us how to get gallery back? i can't seem to find it, or did they just not include it? :/
I hate my battery percentage being displayed lol I don't wanna know how fast my phone is dying then I'd be like dam I just lost 10 percent in like 45 min then I'll start watching the percentage all day I'd rather not know the exact percentage
So when I hold down the settings icon on the swipe down menu it doesn't unlock system UI Tuner for me it just takes me to the settings as if I tapped the icon like usual.... I already unlocked developer options and I'm running Android 6.0.1 if that matters.
For the notification light, it seems to be that once you turn your screen on and see the preview of the app that was making the light come on, it stops flashing. Kinda annoying when I forget about a text because I don't see the light
Thx for the video. I knew most of them but the Bluetooth scanning and camera soon features were new to me. FYI you can also use the same double tap to zoom feature while in Google Maps. Finally this is in relation to the Google keyboard...I use this shortcut all the time to access the numbers and symbols layout. Simply press and hold the "?123" button and swipe to whatever number or symbol you want. Once you release it your letters come back into view. It's a really neat and incredibly convenient way to access symbols. Hope this helps someone.
You can use the one-handed zoom in pretty much every Google App where you need to zoom a lot. You can do that in Google Maps too, for example. It's very useful.
hey Ricky love your videos but could you do 1 more in tab s2. I was hoping to get that or the iPad mini 4 for Christmas buy a comparison between them would really help.BTW there are none online and you do them the best.
Hi Champ Do you know how to set mp3 as ringtones? I used mp3 music on my LG G1 as ringtones, but on the Nexus I can't find the place to change this... Kind Regards From Denmark
Thanks for the video. About the Backup and reset, I actually do not see any option to choose what apps to be backed up. In other words it automatically shows only a "few" apps that can be backed up.
+Allan Wong It only works with newer apps that make use of the API. Out of my ~200 apps, 8 came over from my Nexus 5 with backup enabled. This might be good for a year down the road.
+Jedi Parker Demo mode only changes the status bar, it sets the time at 6:00 and shows an artificial full battery icon, I think all notification icons are hidden but you can still swipe down to see notifications. It's mostly useful for app developers who want to take screenshots of their app and have a uniform status bar between screenshots.
In order to unlock the device - each time - I am asked to enter pin after finger print scan. Can I not only do with finger print scanner to unlock it right away? Pl help ... how to stop pin unlock addition
+Gabriel Lawrence yes you can. Simply long press on the file you want to copy and then hit the upper right hand menu button. It will say 'copy to' then you just select internal storage (the lower one that has the SD card symbol beside it) and you can move it anywhere
can any buddy knows how to increase the incoming call Volume ? I already increase from out side button in cell phone but still its really low . . I can't hear properly if some buddy speaking . . . can any one tell me please ??
+Keith Sherwin i consistently end the day with 40% battery life. I might not use it as much as most, but the days I don't use it much I find I end up with 50-60%. Doze feature seems to work well in battery conservation. Idk. Used to have S4 and found that battery life rarely lasted a day even when new and once it got to be 6 months old i was going through two batteries
So nice, I just did 9 of these for my 5x... the notification light even works! Its in the center of the mouthpiece. Thanks, Ricky!
all hidden features you point are marshmellow features, not nexus 6P. I have all the same in my nexus 5 2013
+Leonardo Baez Like he said in the beginning, it is much harder to find hidden features for a nexus device running pure android. It doesn't have any nifty features like Samsung, LG, etc. Except that it is pure android.
+Jedi Parker nothing you said has to do with what he said
+Leonardo Baez same here on the n5
+Leonardo Baez It's spelled marshmallow.

Amazing. I've only been with the 6p for 2 days and I have learned 8 new very important hidden features. Thank you.
I'm satisfied with myself that i know about half of them :)
thanks!
Excellent! I made the changes concerning battery percentage, Bluetooth scanning, long press and pulse light. Plus I will from now on use that camera zoom technique. Many thanks - the best Nexus 6p 'hidden features' type video!

+Captinprocat it doesn't work on my phone and I have lollipop.
Great video! You just plugged up all those holes I thought stock android had :)Thanks!
The Nexus is such a good phone I'm using it right now
some amazing features revealed on the nexus 6p - nice one Andriod Guy, excellent research and presentation
oh my god the system tuner option I have been searching for. I couldn't stand not seen my percentage in numbers. thanks for the unlock bro
OMG you know what's sad I didn't know you could zoom until now. Thanks these were some very helpful hints!!!!
the bluetooth scanning feature for location accuracy works with bluetooth beacons (in stores, sporting stadiums, etc.); one of the many assisting steps for higher accuracy in location services
Not particularly limited to the 6P as someone else mentioned, but still a very helpful video! I have all of these features on my CM13 ROM and now use them because of your video. So thanks!
Thanks I just learned some new tricks. Loving my 6P and have zero issues unlike some others.
wow system ui was exactly what i was looking for, you just got subbed! thanks buddy.
amazing video.....Thank you so much for creating a video so in depth..... Thank you.... I was seriously unaware of all of these features.....
Great video! The Pulse notification light was hidden in plain sight lol I can't believe i never saw it! i'm so glad this phone has one i'm stoked!
Anyway, can you show us how to get gallery back? i can't seem to find it, or did they just not include it? :/
you mean the photo gallery? since it's stock Android it uses Google photos as a photo gallery but you could always install one from the play store
Ricky awesome video bro. set my 6p right along with the video. appreciate your effort.
I hate my battery percentage being displayed lol I don't wanna know how fast my phone is dying then I'd be like dam I just lost 10 percent in like 45 min then I'll start watching the percentage all day I'd rather not know the exact percentage
i feel you lol, I just got a new car that tells me how much miles I have left in the tank, I'd rather just have the meter like my old car lol
you're not being honest with yourself lol
Can you please update this video? There's not much on this video that is working on my new to me Nexus 6P
High Quality Vid right here. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the battery percentage tip.

thank you very much sir! this was extremely helpful. how did you even find these things yourself I wonder lol

Awesome tips! What's up with the teeny tiny percentage number?? Got microscope?
how did you fet the holo blue theme? i only have light and dark theme.
just got the phone yesterday. thanks for the really useful tips:)
Thx for the video. I knew most of them but the Bluetooth scanning and camera soon features were new to me.

Rickey strikes again! Superb job.
This was a super helpful video! All these worked on my moto x 2014 pure edition except the last one. Thanks for the great video!
You can use the one-handed zoom in pretty much every Google App where you need to zoom a lot. You can do that in Google Maps too, for example. It's very useful.
I didnt know about the bluetooth scanning, thanks!
cool video great info i am surprise that no one has done this more
call blocking can be done in the dialer also, and you only need the number, it doesn't have to be a contact.
Good tips sir, one i could not make work was the battery percentage thing, no amount of holding down would bring the tune up feature : (.
.
hey Ricky love your videos but could you do 1 more in tab s2. I was hoping to get that or the iPad mini 4 for Christmas buy a comparison between them would really help.BTW there are none online and you do them the best.
Hi Champ
Do you know how to set mp3 as ringtones? I used mp3 music on my LG G1 as ringtones, but on the Nexus I can't find the place to change this...

From Denmark
You can download a ring tone maker app
+Stefan Hansen use the app Zedge
hello. how do you add the notifier unread number count of texts on the messenger icon. thx.
You don't...buy an iPhone if you want that
+Alrighty Then false
you can use another launcher. Specifically Nova launcher has this, but you need the paid version.
nice vid, used 4 of these tips right away, thanks!
what would be better nexus 6p or moto x 2015 I have the note 3
all calls to voice mail?! wow!
Awesome video, learnt a lot of tricks so make the life easier!
Good video but the one trick where you can disable the "app suggestion" is actually an option for any one using the Google Now launcher.
Thanks for the video.

pmow yes I know.. thats why i said in this video not all apps can be saved.
thanks for clarifying
So, I did the system UI tuner thing, and it's great. But what is the demo mode about? I don't see any differences.
+Jedi Parker think of when the phone is for display at a store, those are in "demo" mode, IDIOTA, lol jk
Yo this video was great
I actually learned like 8 new things
Is there any double tap hidden feature, besides rooting. That would really take this phone to next level
Very helpful! Thanks for the video!
thanks man... im new with Nexus ... its totally help me to enjoy the phone more
cheers bro a few I didn't know in there
Very nice video DBrand, very nice.
wow. I was hella looking for the battery percentage feature when I got my phone.
thank you!
How do I known all the contatcs that I've set to go to voicemail?
The scanning does not come up when i select the menu only the help comes up .
In order to unlock the device - each time - I am asked to enter pin after finger print scan. Can I not only do with finger print scanner to unlock it right away? Pl help ... how to stop pin unlock addition
Erase your saved fingerprints and setup again
we are still waiting for a Full comparison between the Nexus 6P and the Galaxy Note 5.....can't wait for your full review
awesome video, keep up the good work.
nice job bro! really appreciate it!
Thanks! Awesome how helpful these Features are
hi great video i am happy with my nexus 6p 😊 but after i have watch your video, i can't don't double tap camera to zoom and no settings in bluetooth.
does Nexus 6p supports cast screen without using Chromecast?
I want this phone so bad but there's no Google store here in the Philippines and getting this phone fixed (if problems happen) would be so tough
I didn't know it had a file manager built in. Thanks for the tips
Thanks for the tips! hidden battery % was annoying
Just got mine today! Thanks for this.
good job .. keep up the great work 👏📱👍
finally of fucking use full video on RUclips thank you very much!
+Thomas Kinky Schiller what did you just try and convey? lmao
Google speech to text recognition. it happens.
f it. ;-)
Thanks that was actually useful to see. I had no idea about the built in file manager! But it doesn't look like you can copy and paste...
+Gabriel Lawrence yes you can. Simply long press on the file you want to copy and then hit the upper right hand menu button. It will say 'copy to' then you just select internal storage (the lower one that has the SD card symbol beside it) and you can move it anywhere
+Cody Weiler thanks!
can any buddy knows how to increase the incoming call Volume ? I already increase from out side button in cell phone but still its really low . . I can't hear properly if some buddy speaking . . . can any one tell me please ??
Is there a way to strengthen the vibration on this phone?
+John Doe tryin to use it on your gf? you know they sell cheaper ones at the xxx stores... 750 dollar vibrator? pass
+paco43210 man you're not clever at all. That's like me saying "no, I wanted it for your mom".
+paco43210 well then...
they should have put a notification LED in the camera visor so you can see it when the phone face down
is it possible to activate double tap screen to show notification?
I believe that is only a LG feature.
Wow, didn't realise Facebook took that much information. Creepy as hell.
When I enable the pulse light notification, it disables the black and white notification on the 6P.
What black and white light
+Blessed Trout not a light, the 6P shows the lock screen and notifications in black and white
+pmow hm. doesn't do it on mine
+pmow Doesn't do this for me. I get both, not that the black and white pop up screen is that valuable as it shows so infrequently/never/unpredictably.
Very informative. Thinking of getting this phone.
is it free to backup your apps on Google Drive
It depends how much storage you have in your drive. You start out with like 16GB I think
+Shelgo backups don't count towards quota
Interesting. Didn't think you'd have anything I didn't know.
+flagpoleeip you dumb f*ck
+paco43210 lol at paco. keyboard warrior.
Well that escalated quickly. Keyboard warrior indeed
+flagpoleeip Hey man FUCK YOU, BITCH ASS CALLING OUT PACO, FUCK YOURSELF!
You can choose to keep your numbers on your keyboard on the Nexus 6p which is what I do no short or long press just tap.
This is really informative...thanks
I am happy I knew all but one, the bluetooth location setting, no idea why that is there... anyway nice tips!
Nice advices !
Try swiftkey, better than google keyboard.
I tried that long press in settings icon to get that system ui but couldn't :/
you can also set the home screen to rotate on landscape view like a tablet .. also a hidden feature
Thank you for making this video bruv.
that was a really useful video. thanks.
my phone is nexus 6p and tape hold setting key not show battery percentage please halp
Very good tips!
For some reason the voice in the introduction is annoying. The way it's said or sounds. Anyway, I found a couple things new to me. Good video.
how to bring more pages in the home screen in nexus 6P?
Super helpful. Thanks!!
thinking off trading my s6 edge for nexus 6p would love to know what you or your followers think
just ditched my s6 edge plus for it
