The Bardot is in danger of capsizing so they need to get there and get everyone off except the captain, the first mate, and the chief engineer. Although Nisshin Maru gave orders to Shonan Maru to kill the Bardot crew they can't because the vessel is floundering and if they ram them the vessel will sink and the Bardot's crew will die. Hours before when the Bardot hit the wave Shonan Maru radioed them on channel 16 and asked if they needed assistance the captain told them to standby and Shonan Maru and the Irwin fallowed them back to port. The Bardot is now repaired but she is not allowed on the ocean Sea Shepherd has to charter rides on Yacht Express to ferry her to campaigns and she is not allowed in Antarctica because another rouge wave will sink her so she is restricted to parallel 40 North and can not cross it north or south or she falls in danger of sinking. This is why Sea Shepherd no longer uses the Bardot for patrols they only use it for conservation now.
