So, 2-3 coats of automotive primer, clean/rough, then 3-5 coats of bed liner spray? Was there any other kind of sealer or paint on top of the bed liner spray? Thanks!
Yo bro! How long of a process was this, start to finish? I love this bumper, but don't weld & need a fab shop to do it ..looking to get accurate quotes from local shops
Here in the states the only bumpers that are compliant are the ones from Australia, down there they are forced to do crash testing, but in the states there is no compliance so hardly any are crash test rated. Any of the weld-yourself-kits especially, since at the end of the day it is all custom and the company cannot stand behind all welders who tackle these. If crash tests and air bag compliancy is something you're looking for I would suggest looking into ARB bumpers! - Jacob
Can you do a video on your light bar? More GX videos would be awesome too!
Loving this series brotha
Nice welding. How long have you been MIG welding?
There front bumper kit was my first welding project on my gx470. It's a nice kit, but I got the full bar option. Notching those tubes was a bitch

How many hours, approximately, did it take to get it completely welded together? Looks Great

About 8 hours! It’s not too bad of a job though!
Do these bumpers need to be certified for on road driving or just off road purposes? Air bag compliant?

I feel good today
Can you weld it together and then change out the bumper or do you have to weld as you go?
Yes it is all still bolt on, so after its welded together you can just take it off!
What is the metal thickness?
✌️🇺🇲🙏
Very nice result 🏆
Awesome Video Jacob. Definitely tooks some pointers for a new bumper...
Final fitment is pretty bad
Its fit exactly the way I wanted, left a gap for flex, wasn't trying to lose a headlight! - Jacob
