The issue is that Tatum was getting pretty BS calls on the other end and you could see the frustration on the guys. That’s what made the non call kind of infuriating. It could be deemed as “playoffs contact”, but the contact bar was different on both ends.
It literally is never over till somebody gets 4 wins. Having said that the Mavs, and specifically Kyrie, must show up at home and deliver 2 deciding wins of their own and the crowd at the AAC has to be a big part of helping them return the favor. I always believe but I'm not sold on Kyrie getting over his mental hurdles against the Celtics. It's his chance to show us he can.

The lack of the corner 3 is what is killing us. Celtics want every role player to shoot the wing three cause it has yet to be shown that they can reliably knock that shot down prior to making a corner 3 to get it going

Not at all no, if Kyrie just played half decent we win game 2. If role players made 3's in game 1 or 2, we win both games. If Luka went god mode we win the game. If fouls were called fairly we have a really good shot at winning game 2. Non Luka Mavs are shooting like 9% right now from 3pt in the series.
Kyrie picked the worst possible time to choke. He looks no better than a role player out there game 1 & 2. Meanwhile the actual role players looked like they’re not fit for the G League, let alone the NBA. Horrible end to the season

They say kyrie was just struggling for no reason but if you look at the game, most of the time celtics were sending 2 on kyrie ignoring pj and djj beyond the arc. paint was clogged, driving lanes was clogged, on top of that celtics have the best defensive backcourt. kyrie's strength is his speed. that's useless if he can't drive.
Let's be real, as much as it irks me, the overall individual quality on the rosters is on Boston's side. Esp. when Kai is a no show. When it's like that, you can only compensate energetically. And in these 2 games Boston outhustled the Mavs - be it in 2nd chance shots, defensive efforts, cutting in the paint, drives, grabbing 50-50 balls. You can't win like that. Mavs gotta match that intensity - of diving for the ball like their life depended on it instead of this ''ow shucks'' approach, or else they'll lose the next game too. It would be sad to end such a great run with a sweep playing scared like deer in the headlights (except Luka of course). Luka needs to cut his TOs, but frankly - the man's been dragging a house of bricks on a bum leg in these Finals.
No matter what happens, I'm proud of this team. They went further than most people expected. They made huge strides this season. Even if they don't win, I'll still be a proud mavs fan. I'm not losing faith. But whatever happens I'm proud of our guys. Good luck, boys.

I think the mavericks need to start Hardaway or Hardy over DJJ. I say start because if it goes poorly they can abandon that plan. Either that or start PJ at the 5 and insert one of the Hards into the line up as an extra guard. Luka could be the primary defender on Horford and Bring in Lively when KP checks in. They just desperately need another shot maker out there, especially if DJJ is airballing wide open 3’s and the starters not named Luka go 1-11 from 3. Sure Boston will have an easier time at the the rim, but I think that line up would handle the 5 out on the permitter better in rotation. They aren’t getting the lobs at the rim that made them so effective in previous series and are having a tough time on the switches anyway. But either way, give it a look at the START of the game. J Kidd loves to play very suspect line ups when they’re already down. To everyone that thinks this is crazy, do yall remember what happened when Carlisle went with 5’10 JJ and it changed the series? Hardy just needs minutes period, we can't fucking score the ball (aside from Luka) and he can score. Not complicated at all. THJ is unplayable
