These old boys may look old and infirm but believe me they are the ones who fought for our freedom, we owe them a lot. Thank you so much for your service. The Chelsea Pensioners are great.😊
They certainly did.. wonder looking at what the world has become today and indeed our country..if they ever wonder was all the sacrifice worth it..and all the brave men and women who lost their lives. In fact I wonder if all the wonderful and brave men and women of the armed forces today ever consider if it's worth what they sacrificing for King and country.. because service personnel are still losing their lives and being badly injured in the name of duty. God bless you all..past present and future..you have my greatest respect ❤️
@@JaneH-rj9jt Respect costs nothing and. All our military men and women plus the ones who lost their life's deserve the highest level of respect for their duty given .to the late Queen and now the king.....
The armed forces across the UK should be held in the highest respect ~ they have given their lives for us, both past, present and for the future. (Whatever that maybe) It should be an honour that they come to the guards on this day and have the opportunity to share some of their historic duties to both the guardsmen/armed police and stand with members of the public for photo's and a chat. This is a good opportunity for teaching history to children/students. What a fantastic way to get a chance to actually talk to those who were there, on the battlefield, fighting for our future. And I wonder what they think of the world that they fought for now?
@@helenjacobs9207 • The one with the stripes on his sleeve was a Corporal, the other, a Regimental Seargeant Major...senior in age and in rank. The Chelsea Pensioners always look so smart don't they? 🙂
How different these Chelsea pensioners are treated from the Guards on daily duty, it's nice to see but appalling too, they are all special. The only difference is their ages and they are not on duty, the Guards are. Also our young guards are working in a different world now, where we cannot see our enemy. RESPECT FOR ALL.
Its about time the public/ tourists learned a few lessons about the UK and our customs.. They way some Guards and horses are treated is quite appalling and the rules ought to be changed.. A good taste of the sword might show this is all a serious job. They might think twice before mocking what grandeur we have in the UK.
The senior a Regimental Sergeant Major and the Junior a Corporal, they know what their about. Normally if Enlisted are Saluted their wearing a medal for awarded for valor on the field of battle.
I would have kicked harder! He then had to tell her to get out of the box! Have these people never heard of personal space? The dirty looks the three of them gave the Guard as they walked away were unbelievable. Thankfully they couldn't claim it was racism!
They are what are called Chelsea Pensioners. Old retired soldiers who live in the pensioners home in Chelsea. You see them at many events and are much loved.
Well, I pray your evil Prime Minister and anyone else letting all those so called asylum seekers in, don't decide to boot the Chelsea Pensioners out of that home, to give that over to the illegals, or whatever you want to call them.
It’s not a damn petting zoo!! I would be yelling at all who insist on touching the horse….they now need to put up a huge sign that says Don’t touch the horses!!! Just who do they think they are touching the guards horse.
Fair plays to these 2 ex servicemen, who stopped and chatted, pictures with huge resoect and dignity, Sadly some, still has the attitude of “if it wasn’t for us, you wouldn’t be here “ Yes, to a point I agree, with many residents and tourists, amd there huge disrespect to our armed forces, But, also, it wasn’t just you who won our past WW’s , But these 2 lovely gentlemen, proves there is still pride, and respect, no matter what uniform you wear
Well done to on duty Horse Guard, thank you to Horse Guard and the Chelsea Pensioners for your Service. I really enjoy visiting the Horse Guard Museum.
I presume you mean members of the public saluting? I've always thought it looks disrespectful, but I really don't know the protocols around saluting. I know I don't like to see it, because it looks to me as though it's mocking the Guard.

Nice touch, the guard acknowledging the Chelsea Pensioners with his sword.
Boy, that guard sat up smartly when the Pensioners and stayed in salute until they had passed through the gate.
Think one off them might be an officer going by the 2 strips on his arm.

Those police officers sure came riding in on some beautiful horses!!! Especially the paint! Absolutely beautiful!
In the UK they're known as piebald , black and white , a brown and white a skewbald . The big grey is called Yeoman he's 17.3 hands !

Who are the two older gents in the long red coats? They sure had lots of pics taken with the tourists!
