not easy making a high speed lego train work....they even cambered and angled the corners to make it work!! great crash too, good thing with lego you can just rebuild the train and no casualties...except some of those lego trees...
The speed is insane yet realistic given the Horizon Express is clearly is a love letter to the TGV. The custom metal track with its grand curves definitely has my interest.
Also I think lego trains can fit on 0 gauge track I may be mistaken but if I remember rightly I was able to make a 9v train work on 0 gauge track but if it don't its very simple to make 0 gauge take and make it slightly narrower or wider The trick was how to modify the speed one way would be to put a brushless motor similar to a small helicopter motor and as thay can run on a speed controller hook up to a 7.4v lipo battery that would fit in the loco so would be possible to modify it so it took power from the track would love to see who else would do it as I may make a video if anyone has suggestions as I would biuld full length coaches and not rhe silly stumpy ones lego made
Great to see! Full length trains at high speed on large radius curves. Well Done! I hope that one day you can make an even larger layout with larger curves and have trains running in both directions!
There kinda unrealistic with the speed and quality but it looks like fun having to rebuild your train every time it derails and explodes. LGB G scale is realistic as hell compared to this. You must run slow. Lol
Is it still using the lego motorized bogie or one ripped off a model train? And I can't tell if the track width is still the same as the one on the lego tracks. *EDIT:* Ok, I saw that there were lego train axles on the train bogies so it's GOT to be the same track width. *EDIT 2:* Ok, there goes the first question too, another one of those hilarious crashes revealed one of the motorized lego bogies.
1:53 however, the crew realized that this is going around 135 mph very near the curve, and the UNTHINKABLE happens, the front train dives into the grass causing major damage and entire train follows the leader and everything is a goner, 1:54 the train is still going over 100 mph and everything is destroyed one train even rolled on the other side of the same track, nothing escaped damage from this wreak. in the end, all trains were severely damaged or destroyed and were replaced.
0:12 However, the crew realized that the train is going too fast for the curve. and shortly after the unthinkable happens. the entire train derails, going way over the speed limit and it crashes into the forest. 0:14 a nearby highway was scattered with train debris with people in shock, the train's speed must be over 120 mph for this to happen. in the end, the train was completely destroyed. the leader managed to remain mostly intact, but most is mostly destroyed. the rear end somehow did not happen to be destroyed.
Who built the train inclines and bridges? I'm trying to figure out the math and it appears that it has to be a 3 degree slope? I was hoping to make the slope a lot more steep.
There is an awesome Lego Via Rail that needs support on Lego Ideas. It might be turned into a Lego set that you can buy. It can be motorized with Lego Powered Up. It comes with a baggage car that can store canoes, a sleeping car with a lot play features, and a dome car with a lot of play features. I really want this train to achieve support and be turned into a Lego set.
I will build this in my living room... I have already bought 2x Horizon Express on Aliexpress for $40 each. Probably will replace some parts and add 2x Buwizz. Let's see how fast it can go! I am surprised the track was not banked steeper.
Excellent model and to how they were made it seems the Lego employees in billund Denmark went to a SNCF TGV maintenance facility to actually get the actual pictures and measurements so that they can turn it into Legos with them spending time in the white room back in billund Denmark where the main Factory is. For the Germans it's Nuremberg home to the Playmobil Factory German Playmobil collectors want one.
They are using custom tracks but running the old 9V LEGO train motors. I would guess they are also putting around 2-3x the normal voltage into the track, which you might be able to do with the 9V LEGO track, but you'd have to use a custom speed controller. You can tell those are custom curves just by that they aren't super tight. While there is a trick to make very gradual curves with standard LEGO stright track, LEGO curves only really come in one size, really tight!
not easy making a high speed lego train work....they even cambered and angled the corners to make it work!! great crash too, good thing with lego you can just rebuild the train and no casualties...except some of those lego trees...
Superelavation
Looks like multiple crashes 😂
I like how you can actually hear it speed up and slow down entering and leaving the curves
Yes, and it is the real noise that is recorded during the exhibition.
It's so satisfying to finally see a Lego train traveling at a matching relative speed to a full size one :D
Simply beautiful...
*crashes* Not anymore
I am is the fat yes very proud of food are you train
Well. The old 9V system could probobly do a scale 120km/h, that would be accurate for most medium freight trains and commuter trains
And also true curves not that standard lego lame small curves
The speed is insane yet realistic given the Horizon Express is clearly is a love letter to the TGV.
The custom metal track with its grand curves definitely has my interest.
@@Misterb1234 ah, so they’re straight pieces slightly offset to create grand curves. Such a joy to watch!

Kid: Dad I need this Lego Train.
Dad: Let me play first.
That may be one of the most spectacular crashes I’ve seen
Looks like one of the AVE accidents in Spain
Surprised to see not many people picking up that the footage is of two separate crashes.
@Bhavishya Atyam lol
We need a review of that TGV trip!
@Bhavishya Atyam 1wws,aâszažsws

Didn't know you watched this kind of content 😂
0:12 that acctually looked realistic.
low key gave me a heart attack
It’s a LEGO set
Right
LMAO
cool
0:12 the train: im so fast
Rail curve:im about to end this trains whole career

Honestly i hoped it would have crashed and this was a big spoiler

Thank you.
Yes, it is a dream to make two routes even bigger, but afterwards we will no longer be able to bring it into the exhibition halls.
Did not expect the train to crash so early in the video. It scared me.
bro i jumped from that
if only the curve was less rough

the crash at the beginning caught me off guard lol I jumped a little
One of the most beautiful lego train model in my opinion!

Those little LEGO trains are so cool! I can’t believe how fast they can go! They go faster than some of my Lionel model trains.
Amazing like real 👍😊
Have you noticed how the train tilts at the curves? That's done to prevent the train from derailing.
Yes, exactly, otherwise the train can not ride as fast in the corners.
For real trains it is the same.
AZATOR already know
Didn't work.
This is called "cant" or "superelevation"
it wasn't sign "speed limit" before corner
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Amazing speed....👍🏾👍🏾🤗 kapan gek aku biso tukuuu😁😁
I like it very much. And will follow you forever
That's some serious speed. I didn't think a lego train could go that fast...
What a great sport! He had fun! Greetings from Winnipeg, Canada
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I am still amazed about that rail system :-o Can you do a behind the scenes video how the rails were made?
I think they’re just regular HO/OO gauge rails fitted to a lego base

I love Lego trains! Legos are virtually indestructible in a crash, and even then it's easy to replace the occasional broken Lego and carry on...
still looking in 2021 an its that amazing sound of the accerating TGV, what a cool thing done with Lego.

That is just beautiful - except for the crash bit. One of my favourite LEGO models of all time (just wish I owned one, or two... or four)

0:12 and this is why trains cna’t go at top speed that’s below 80!
I love the track it makes the train look more realistic

How did you get it to go so fast?
How did you manage to tilt the curved tracks?

Rail-Ryder 713 this is the HORIZON EXPRESS creator expert pack it’s a LEGO set
I wasn't talking about the Train on the video.
wow, watching this is so satisfying
how did you get the train to go that fast?
Overloaded the power supply to the 9V motors. Don't try this at home.
I want to
+TheLightningZap ,You'd kill the motor, but that's your call I suppose.
+EuropeanLEGOTrains™ [ELT] how would you overload the motor, will this work with power functions or only 9v rail
+TheLightningZap 40 volts was fed through the track into the motors, needless to say they didn't survive afterwards.
That's goes fast, but needs to slow for bends
You see this is why the bends are curved.
Why ? 😂

What is that track called?
bit late to the party, but how'd they get the train to go so fast?
Why was this fun to watch as a kid
Special motor and modified tracks controlled by computer and bumper plate system... really nice.
No, original Lego motor at higher voltage
How do you connect the two
