Thank you for sharing. Acc'r here my family never understand why I shied away from large gatherings. I didn't know at the time but I now understand. Every one knew I wasn't all their but I wasn't diagnosed until much later.

Thank you so much for those kind words! It is really wonderful to hear that these videos have changed your view on this disorder. Your brother has so much potential! Make sure you are always by his side never allowing him to give up. Everything that you teach him (and use repetition) will help his brain work hard to make connections in other areas of it.

Selam. Kardeşinizin durumu şimdi nasıl? Türkiyeden yazıyorum. Eşim 32 haftalık hamile ve 24. Haftada çocuğumuza ACC teşhisi kondu. Diğer değerleri normal. Hidrosefali değerleri biraz sınırda ama düşmesini bekliyoruz. Bizi neler bekliyor bilmiyoruz ve çok tedirginiz. Tecrübelerinizi benimle paylaşır mısınız?

    Hii Katherine ,
Is it necessary that if previous child has dysgenesis of corpus callosum ,then coming baby will also have the same

There are rare chances where a family has had more then one child with DCC. But typically it’s just one child. In my family I am the only one out of six kids. I have three older siblings and two that are younger.
That being said, if you are a parent that has the disorder (like myself), it’s possible to pass it on to more of your children. I have a 50/50 chance with each pregnancy that my child will be born with the disorder. So I only have two kids. The oldest is typical brained and the younger has the disorder.

Hello! I don’t really struggle from my ACC. I know I have trouble some times with peoples tone of voice but over the last 15 years I have been teaching myself to better understand people, ask questions for clarification and not jump to conclusions. I have learned to be very self aware of the things I am doing and saying. I don’t feel I struggle anymore then a typical brained person does in their day to day life. I do drive. I got my license when I was 19. I am now 36. I like automatic. There is less to think about. Where as stuck shift you have to do multiple things at once. I am sure I could do it if I practiced enough. But why when automatic is so easy.

    Can you drive a car?

+Laura Wright yes. I have been driving with a license since age 19. I am now 35. I started learning at age 16. It took me a while because liked to perfect one thing before moving on to the next. Also in my family you had to make honor roll at school to get to take the drivers test. I never made honor roll. I drive all the time these days, going on trips and taking my kids places
