Adding a hint of a different colour to your grey and black cats doses indeed make wanders for them and you can very easily tell them apart, and with the amount of black and grey cats in the Warriors franchise this technique helps a lot.
Best family in warriors. I honestly think that Needletail, Alderheart, Twigbranch, And Violetshine all think of each other as siblings (and siblings can help raise each other! I have neighbors that do that) and it just makes more sense in my opinion. Also Needletail didn’t have any sibling until after she died so I feel like she protect Violetshine with all of her heart as an older sister. Idk that’s just my headcanons but they make so much sense.
Yeah! I see them more as older siblings too, especially since Needle and Alder never really truly act like parents, but even though I see them as adopted siblings, they were also like parents for Violet and Twig cause that's the closest they had to parental figures. Oh yeah? Kind of a mix of both, like you were saying! :3
I LOVED the relationship Needletail and Violetshine had. They were like unbiological sisters who loved and always looked out for one another and it shattered every little bit of my heart when Needletail died, but I'm happy that she died because it gives her a chance to look back on her life decisions and look out for Violetshine as well as the people they both care for. Their designs show how much each character cares for one another with Needletail above looking down happily.
I've always imagined Alderheart like a father figure to Twigbranch, but Needletail like an older sister to Violetshine. I love both of these pair's relationships with each other tho omg-
I really agree with what you said about hawkwing and twigbranch, I feel like she would be a bit more purple-gray because as you said it really does fit her personality more. I feel like she would be more playful so it would just back sense for her to be a more ‘uppy’ Or brighter color. And also did anyone think that needletail and Dovewing would use a similar color gray?
Love this series! Honestly this arc has been my favorite alderheart is my little boy. Twigbranch’s name bothered me for a while, but now it makes more sense seeing as she’s gotten stronger and harder to break, like a branch is harder to snap than a twig, and she’s branching out from her ancestry by joining thunderclan.
Tenelle I'm seriously addicted to this series. I love seeing you sketching and erasing until you find what the best position, line, or shape is. It really helps me be able to draw things better. Last night I drew a ghost girl riding a skeleton horse, and I think I'm gonna upload it, and I kept going back and fixing mistakes, making sure I was happy with the position or shape. I absolutely love this channel!

There is one thing that really really bothers me.... In Long Shadows, when Tigerpaw Dawnpaw and Flamepaw go to Thunderclan with Tawnypelt after Sol ruins everything. When Hollyleaf was talking about the plan to get shadowclan back, Tigerpaw interrupted and said to Lionblaze, "Hey! My pelt looks like yours!" And the book said their golden pelts looked almost the same, BUT TIGERPAW IS A TIGERSTAR CLONE AND HE CAN ONLY BE DARK TABBY AND IT DRIVES ME CRAZY
i'm not even gonna lie, when i saw the finished product of needletail, i started sobbing. she was such a badass, the best harass character we've had in a long while. she really is a great character, and i loved seeing violetshine and needletail bonding throughout the series. and when needletail died, my heart broke. warriors has had too many forbidden relationships, but i wouldn't have minded seeing alder x needle. however, i'm happy with how avos ended. go, red alderheart! cannon be damned with purple-eyed violetshine!

I have always imagined good old Violet a little differently. You know dem half faces cats, like one side of the face is black and the other like a ginger and this goes along the whole body? I imagine that with Violet. One half of her face is white with black spots with an amber eye then the other half black with white spots and a purple eye. It is fun though to see that everyone has their own cannons! ❤️

I like the Needletail art here as opposed to the reference Needletail because here-dletail looks sharp, witty, and fiercely loyal yet rebellious while reference looks like an old, Mousefur-esque geezer, which isn't the vibe I get from her. I think it's the squared jaw and the more circular head of reference that gives this vibe to me, so great job on the newer art!
I had the best idea for a Jayfeather design after you said something about Red / Pink Alderheart designs. Ivy-pool wanna-be Jayfeather- Light grey, near white fur with blue-gray patches covering and darker of said blue-grey striping, though only on the blue-gray spots. This is based off my own idea on how Ivypool looks, but she'd be more grey-scale with hints of red + red/orange shading, while Jay would be more jay colored with blue hints and maybe violet shading. I'm gonna go test this out with all the advice you've been providing thus far.
I’m always impressed by how distinct your character designs are. AVOS is an amazing arc and I really love the bond all the main characters have, which I think you drew perfectly here :D
Tennelle, you made a miracle again! I've never read the Vision of Shadows books before (because they have not translated to Russian yet), but your artwork feels so... comfortable, warm... I really see the family, connection to each cat in a group and that's saying a lot! Also.... VIOLETSHINE'S EYES ARE PURPLE, 'CAUSE SHE IS VIOLET!!! Red Alderheart is best Alderheart! Serious though, one of the only ways I could see Alderheart being a brown tabby having absolutely *any* importance is to make him look like Bramblestar. The three not being his kits took a pretty heavy toll kn Bramble and Squirrel's relationship, and his trust in her. So by making Alderheart look like Bramblestar, it "adds proof that Alderheart really is Bramblestar's kit". Which, yeah, could have been an acceptable reason (not necessarily good but still lmao) but Bramblestar's Storm literally gives us the manga dedicated to finding out that Squirrelflight is expecting kits so it's really not a necessary point. In short: Red Alderheart is the true most valid Alderheart. ❤

I really to think that Twigbranch will always have a much stronger connection with Alderheart than she had with Hawkwing because as a child my own father raised me but never was there for me. On the other side, my elder cousin and my nana always were by my side from a young age and I grew to have a stronger bond with them and never had much of a bond with my own father, it was like he was lost. So I can really feel that stronger bond that Twigbranch would have with Alderheart and Violetshine shared with Needletail.

At tip with making back cats! Honestly tennelle I 100% agree with grey cats but the same goes for black cats. What I recommend is taking a color you think suits there personality like breeze pelts dark and brooding personality so mabey take red and make it almost black. Anyways I hoped this helped you out
I just finished binge watching all 18 episodes of Drawing A ___! and I'm loving it so far! However, it might be me, but I have a hard time figuring out what Blixemi is saying at the very beginning of the intro. What I hear is "If you're instfotanks and make no mistake." I'm pretty sure that's not quiet it, but I hear it every single time, even when I'm trying to listen for anything else, so I can't quite be sure. That doesn't take away from how much I love this series as a whole and it's definitely made me think more about how I tackle art and character design. Vision Of Shadows is my FIRST book series of Warriors!! I am very pleased! I just finished Thunder And Shadow, and going onto Shatterd Sky! Alder`Paw, Needle`Tail, Violet`Paw, and Twig`Paw are my favourite characters including Jay`Feather!
I've been working on a water animation(I gave up on tje waves), but when I saw the end there I was so impressed! Lovely water animation! Great character designs as always!
I always see Alderheart and his mother looking the same or similar (I haven't done the personalization for them, as for a while I was drawing them all realistically based on real cats) They are red/orange classic tabbies,, because with classic tabbies the red looks more vibrant

While its problematic to tell them apart there probably a lot of brown tabbies cause brown tabby is genetically the most common cat color. Although most are brown with black stripes but from an artist perspective I’m sure designing the warrior herd of brown tabbies is a nightmare

I've always imagined twigbranch as a smaller cat with long fur and a small nose that you just wanted boop. And on the other side I thought of violetshine is skinny with long legs and sharp features as I think that she would have wanted to look more... Arrogant? Because of darktails group. And alderheart... MY SWEET BABY!!!! He would have thick fur with a broad nose but he would still have a slender body with a FLOOFU TAILU!!!!!
You should draw when Crow paw, brambleclaw., squirrel paw, tawnypelt, stormfur, and feather tail when on a journey to the sun drown place. It happened in the earlier books but still

While its problematic to tell them apart there probably a lot of brown tabbies cause brown tabby is genetically the most common cat color. Although most are brown with black stripes but from an artist perspective I’m sure designing the warrior herd of brown tabbies is a nightmare

I've always imagined twigbranch as a smaller cat with long fur and a small nose that you just wanted boop. And on the other side I thought of violetshine is skinny with long legs and sharp features as I think that she would have wanted to look more... Arrogant? Because of darktails group. And alderheart... MY SWEET BABY!!!! He would have thick fur with a broad nose but he would still have a slender body with a FLOOFU TAILU!!!!!
You should draw when
Crow paw, brambleclaw., squirrel paw, tawnypelt, stormfur, and feather tail when on a journey to the sun drown place.
It happened in the earlier books but still
