- The Stranger stumbled into town with nothing more than five dollars in his pocket and an ominous feeling that the game was going to freeze. He'd just have to make the best of it until that happened.

Lol it's so funny how the population falls after you hear a gunshot in the map
Writing in the 1996 edition of The Macintosh Bible, Bart Farkas stated that "PowerPC technology has allowed computer games to venture ever closer into the realm of virtual reality. No game comes as close as Dust".
I’ve been waiting so long for you to play this incredible fever dream of dated stereotypes and bad acting.
Cyberflix is the most 90's company to ever exist. Wow, where are these people now?
The talking heads in this game are the exact kind of psychotic shit I'm in to
Buick Riviera is a *fantastic* name for a character.
The _Hard Drive_ is a pretty good name for a saloon, too.
I have been waiting for this day since i saw your Titanic playthrough 🎉🎉🎉 this game is a vibe
$1 a drink in 1882 is about $30 a drink in 2022
I imagine that's realistic for Gold Rush towns (though I'm not sure if Diamondback is one of those). The real way to make money was to provide absurdly overpriced booze and hookers to prospectors instead of wasting your time trying to find gold yourself. Supposedly in some places people paid for their tab with gold nuggets.
It's always tricky to compare the value of money across different times and places. Not only does the currency's value fluctuate for any number of reasons, but the price of goods change... In the real life Gem Saloon in Deadwood, you could expect to pay 20¢ for a glass of beer and $1 for a bottle of wine. So one dollar isn't crazy for a whole bottle (depends a lot on what kind of drink you're talking about, though; the good stuff would be much more than that), but it would be very expensive for a glass.
For comparison, a typical factory worker of the time period earned maybe $1.00 or $1.50 a day. A private in the Union Army at the time of the Civil War earned $13 a month (or $10 a month if you were a 'colored' soldier). It's important to note that workers spent a lot of time unemployed due to a variety of factors, up to four or five months out of the year. Also, the average wage was not enough to live on, so everyone in a family had to work in order to make ends meet (though women and children earned less than men). So, you know, context...
It really goes to show how there could be popular support for Prohibition, though. It wasn't just a moral panic; wasting a couple dollars a month on booze would be a massive drain on a typical family's budget. I'm sure booze is still an expensive luxury as a percentage of people's income, of course, but nobody cares about anything anymore.
the Lunicus trailer made me laugh so hard I almost got sick
EDIT: holy FUCK the titanic trailer... can you save THE WORLD?
Please do a playthrough of this one. It's too much of a trainwreck to walk away from.
Not the first game with "Dust" and "Tale" in the title I've heard of, but this one's definitely a lot older.
LUNICUS has to appear on stream sometime
Based on the title I thought this was going to be a cyberpunk wild west, sort of like ripper
I was expecting a story about the early telegraph/ telephone.
I wish SGF would do a playthrough of Ripper, the game is wild.
That whole intro was pretty incredible.
There weren't, in fact, any slot machines in 1882.
Buick must be a time traveler
They started showing up about a decade later.
Lunicus belongs in a time capsule, or at least the trailer
Oh hell yeah. I genuinely think this game is better than Titanic: Adventure Out of Time by the same studio. It's still bad don't get me wrong. But it doesn't betray the complete lack of history that Titanic did with it's weird nonsense endings. I hope you can do a full playthrough of this one.
Sure, but it doesn't have the wow factor of exploring the inside of the Titanic.
Got than sneaking suspicion that we have played the best of their games...
I wanted to see the Screenshots for Titanic! The trailer was hyper early, all they had was an untextured model of the outer hull... I wonder what the screens showed :V
The game never crashed for me when I played on Windows 95 back in the day.
More pog?
More like Cyberfux amirite
not at all happy with that racist chinese guy
Your gamer cred will tank if you don't do LUNICUS, SGF. I'm sorry, but that game possibly was made for you.
You gotta play those other games.
Kinda expected different Dust, made by Optimus Nexus...
That one looks a Shiny Entertainment game from the screenshots. Never heard of Optimus Nexus before. Is their Dust better than this one?
Oh my god, Skullcracker. Eons ago on a PC Gamer demo disc, I discovered for myself... yes, the game DOES play like ass.
