Absolutely one of the best videos seen so far, featuring how to frame a good resume for a candidate with no data experience. Your points were so clear and exact and it really helped in giving more confidence. Thank you Agatha for this video!!
hey Agatha, i appreciate you sharing this information! it's really helpful for making my resume stand out! i have one question though, can you make a video on project ideas that will make you stand out when applying for jobs in data science or data analytics? having a hard time coming up with a meaningful idea. thank you!
Thank you so much, AK. This was a very insightful one. I'm definitely creating a resume with your template and tips. I hope I can share with you as a professional to review. One of the topics that stood out for me was the use of keywords, which makes so much sense.
Would love to see a follow up video to this for a Data Analyst that has some experience under their belt already. Even as an experienced Analyst it's feeling impossible to get a job in this market
I really like your vedio, it's really inspiring me, and could you please show more about how to prepare for interview and what kind of questions could be asked during the interview of data analyst, thank you so much !
You mentioned “entry level” and “no experience” in Data analysis that we should link a portfolio. What would someone with no to very little experience have I their portfolio?
From what I’ve learned so far from other Data Nerds, you want to show a couple of guided projects and more, personal projects putting your Data skills to the test. You can also use freelance work, competitions, and hobby like projects (fitness tracking, music listening, etc) for your portfolio to showcase your skills. Kaggle is a great place for competitions. You can also use Bootcamps for guided projects like Alex the Analyst. Agatha has a video on Projects too. I’ve seen some where people focused on one skill like Data Scrubbing using Excel. I’ve seen where they did dashboard to showcase data visualization using Excel, Power Bi/Tableau, and SQL or just Tableau.
@channelwhoa66 grab datasets from Kaggle and start applying your skills and creating projects. I’m not a professional (yet) but I thought that might help you
Thanks for this information Agatha! Im currently in a position of eligibility for a major healthcare company and I want to transition into the tech side/analytics. I’ve been burning my brain cells how to get my resume to top tier, it didn’t dawn on me to do small changes such as added skills/projects, typically I would state “OBJECTIVE” after my contact info….do you think that putting objectives are necessary? What are other suggestions that you may not have listed in the video that comes to mind for creating a great resume?
Just to say it the job market an odd place in America right now for the past few years regardless of a good résumé and having years of experience personally even after applying to eighty jobs at one point doesn’t lock you in i’ve even had jobs that I applied to that when I got to a hiring manager they said that they’re not even looking for any new employees they have a long-standing ad that they run year-round regardless thanks for the video and setting me up for my next few steps
Thank you for creating this video. It was informative and engaging, and I appreciate the effort you put into making it. Keep up the great work! And i don't have any work experience either i am a total fresher.. is there anything can i add to the resume instead of work experience??
My CV is 2 pages only with 8 years Work Experience, no bullshit on the CV, this is where I worked, this is the skill I used and gained, and this is what I achieved using that skill, simple. I don't have a skills and projects section because they waste space, you can highlight these in bold and psychologically the HR Manager looking at your CV will already know in 2 seconds who you're
Please talk about having experience in data related things like ETL for years(around 5years) and want to move in Data analyst field, what things we need to?
PLEASE HELP! Agatha, I have a BA and an MA in Sociology. This is considered a “data-driven discipline”, I also taught courses for 4 years. So my data analysis consisted of SPSS, during g me education, and spreadsheets analyzing grades or other datasets for instruction purposes. I also completed the GOOGLE Data Analysis Professional Certificate. Would I still be “entry level?” Thanks in advance!
I have 10 years of experience as a healthcare provider, I want to leverage that experience for a health analyst role where that experience will be valued. Additionally, I am obtaining a graduate certificate from a university in data analytics. As of now, I have my healthcare experience as a "career summary" at the bottom. I wrote a few key points related to a data analyst role like an overview as well as 2014-2024. I dont have my individual jobs listed, if I did it would take up too much space. Do you have experience with this type of resume? I wonder if this will get the immediate boot and if I really need to list the individual jobs I held during that time (I've held over 10, its not uncommon in healthcare and its largely due to relocations or travel assignments). In every job I have the same job title as it is a licensed position.
Where you have projects on the resume provided, I have 3 experiences but no actual projects.. can I put the freelance experience where you had projects and where you have work experience can I put my other relevant buy not similar to marketing experience? Example: ❤Projects Social media Social media Marketing assistant Digital intern ❤Work experience Project manager ( at a daycare) Event coordinator ( at a fashion show)
Yes! You can put freelance experience in place of projects. The projects are only there in place of work experience for those that don’t have enough experience to show that they have the skills. Hope this helps! ♥️

Is there any video regarding experienced resume ?
what do you think about listing relevant coursework on the resume and where would that go?
