  • New plan for a concrete block rocket stove that uses some concrete pavers. You could also call this a cinder block stove, depends on what you call it. Watch all the vids in this series: • How To Make A DIY Rock...

Thank you for this video ! The Bonus Hint at the end makes so much sense !
This is something I can actually manage (wood pile/chopping , etc...not so much !)
You make everything easy to duplicate and sensible...and fun !!
    Be safe and well !

I think you've got a keeper! If you've got a couple of extra concrete blocks you might want to stand them up on either side to support the pavers and keep them from tipping.

Good tip Brian, thanks for that. I just about dumped the whole thing off the plywood and sawhorses there in the middle of the vid. :) eric.

The material that you will need are fire brick. The tremendous amount of heat will degrade them quickly Other material cools be rock wool. There are many materials out there. Fire is fun

I read somewhere that burning galvanized wire gives off toxic fumes. I'm worried about contaminating the food that I'm cooking. I think my BBQ has a warming rack I never use... So I'm gonna use what I have. 😜. 💖🌞🌵😷

Concrete blocks dehydrate and disintegrate in a fire. It happened to me while boiling maple syrup. Will not last a couple of fires.

What about a masonry brick on the top of the scooped block? Seems like it may fit there close enough to block that air gap. Can't wait for the cooking videos, I have tried cooking on the top of my chiminea but it's much less efficient than these rocket stoves I imagine.

    • @gardenfork

I’ve made grilled cheese on the rocket stove. There’s a vid in the playlist about that! A brick might close up the gap, I’ll go find some better concrete blocks. Thx!

There is a dying skill here in the UK , Dry Stone Wall building where much the same as your neighbour sorted rocks to make a stable wall. They are all over the place as field and property boundaries. That is the best looking FDire Pit I have seen. Much better than the bought ones.
