Can we talk about just how incredible it was for a skilled content creator to be able to witness and record all these events and then masterfully encapsulate it all into a seriously well put together video? This isn’t even boring experiences that are then edited to make it look better than it really is. These are moments that a player dreams of experiencing when coming back to Classic. Barny was able to witness and document an ongoing territory war, a hilarious role playing hostage scenario that resulted in collusion that worked for both sides, a peacebloom GDKP, and causing chaos by buying out the whole war effort. All of this, and we were able to watch it from someone skilled enough to make this video come together.

Story - The bulk of players had just hit lvs 30-40 and were starting to meet in STV. with only like 3-4 lv 60s on the server. The alliance camped nesingwary for hours. days even.. Finally horde got fed up and made 3-4 full raids and pushed them out of STV completely. we held nesingwary for an hour. Then pushed north, going around elwynn to dunmoroh to take the tram to surprise Stormwind by using thier back door. We then barricaded int he empty dwarf district bank and held them all back for 1-2 hours.. It was fun AF.... Conclusion- I told that Story on why classic wow pvp servers were so good.... As rogue when farming fire eles at lvl 40...i made sure that no horde dared to attack me because i would kill them at low hp for revenge. It was very peaceful for me when it was game of tag the mob.
The Moonfire thing... so there was this enchant in MoP called "Elemental Force" seemed like a lot of people overlooked it at the time. Basically when it proced, it would hit YOUR TARGET for an amount of damage. The special thing was that it hit YOUR TARGET. Not what you were currently fighting. It doesn't work the same way anymore. So you could go into an instance, use a targeting macro to lock onto something a room or so away, then AoE trash where you were. If EF procced, it would poke your target, one or more rooms away and totally not expecting anything in the fxing eyes! It would come running, pulling anything else with it. If you were overgeared like say a lvl 80 caster/warrior etc using 404 gear, this damage was not insignificant.
We had weak auras for differentiating between rats and friends, for enemy faction guilds as well. Basically we would see on the nameplate if the guy is not part of 'the coalition'. What a great time was the whole game.
The fact a single content creator brings me joy for such a long time such as Barny is amazing. Been watching him ever since his Keyori league short skits days and I love it

I actually ended up leveling my druid first on a vanilla private server i played on before Classic hit. To make a long story short, my TWO! other chars were still low level, waiting for my friends to log on again, so my solo leveling character by the name of "Boreddruid" was my first 60. I raided with him for quite some time as a feral, mostly tank and then, just shortly after i changed my mind and became a powershifting cat of doom, i hit 60 with my rogue, got super lucky with preraid bis gear, tried out MC as a rogue and never went back. I still loved my druid, it was great for solofarming Devilsaurs, had good enough gear to main tank any dungeon and the 20 men raids and i proceeded to get a hybrid build which was able to tank AND heal, depending on the gear you equip (free druid t1 gear anyways). I guess many here will say "who gives a fuck if you can do dungeons and 20 men raids on your twink if you main the rogue!?" to which i answer: i worked my way up to become a high ranking officer (eventually i became like the secret guild leader), so helping new people get their gear and attunements done was extremely useful. The story continues with me rerolling prot warrior for the tbc patch, then the server dying and my guild moving on to a fresh Wotlk Realm where i ended up playing druid again, dps feral and occasional offtank. Maining a non healer druid in Classic is a pain, the gear you can get is rare and highly contested, but a good powershift cat can deal quite the damage when played right. But thats the thing, playing a druid good is not as trivial as playing a mage. Having a good powershifter in your raid is totally worth it tho.
The collusion part where they had someone from the other faction there to kill rats reminded me of something I used to do with someone on my server back in vanilla and TBC. Originally he had 2 accounts and would hold alliance players hostage for gold in different zones. You either gave up and went somewhere else, called in guildies for help, paid up, or you’d got camped. He did it to me one time and we got to talking and I ended up joining him. Since I was ally and he was horde we could now hold anyone hostage. If it was a horde player I’d hold them hostage until they either gave up, called in help, or paid him gold. If it was an ally player then he’d do the same unless they paid me gold. We did this in vanilla originally then moved it to outlands once TBC came out. That’s how I afforded my epic flying mounts for my alts. He was a damn good hunter and I played rogue so we could camp people really easily. We had a blast back in the day chilling on vent and doing that shit for hours all across the outlands. Our best spots to do it was around the daily quest hubs because that’s where everyone made their gold to buy their epic flying, so they had more money to extort😂 We both made a small fortune doing that.
I think this is great, because I was on a pvp realm in the real classic wow. And this was sooooo relatable. For us, it lead to a realm-meeting with people from all over europe showing up in hamburg. It was like 50-150 people and awesome! Long long time ago.
I'm cool with Asmongold wanting to play on grobbulus but I'd prefer if he did it completely off-stream with an anonymous character simply to not destroy the server with his sperg followers.
this is a joke right? in what world do you think he would ever do that, and no one has to be cool with "that", anyone can roll a character in any server if they want to.
@@tugahenrik1 I was just saying what I think would be the optimal situation, not the most probable one. And of course anyone can play on any server, however there's some people that don't even really play the game, they just follow his character around and make the overall experience of the game not as enjoyable, how many of his followers are really gonna rp?
I just skinned all the dead bugs at the time and sold their chitin to farmers because their icon looked the same as the real carapace fragments. Turned a 1 silver worth item into a 1 gold worth item lmao. People were pissed when they realised.
Yeah man, I made a few hundred gold. I could only get 20g per person at a time because the fake frags only stacked up to 20 where as the real ones stacked to 200. People started to call me out in chat though which was a good laugh.
Why doesn't Asmongold not become a Patreon then if he really likes and wants to support Barney so much? Hell, he could sponsor the HDD recovery for him!

Barney is far and away the best Classic wow content creator. Definitely a quality over quantity guy for sure, though.
*gal
Would farm mats for Naxx consumes over anima any day.
cringe
i like how in classic it's reroll warrior for droods. And in Retail, it's reroll boomkins for Warriors :D
He takes 5 seconds of a video and turns into 7mins of content almost like how Jesus takes water and turns it into wine
40:25 "no changes? fine, your problem now"
I just watched this on barney's channel and I'll watch it again
I just skinned all the dead bugs at the time and sold their chitin to farmers because their icon looked the same as the real carapace fragments. Turned a 1 silver worth item into a 1 gold worth item lmao. People were pissed when they realised.
Shit like that is why I live
Yeah man, I made a few hundred gold. I could only get 20g per person at a time because the fake frags only stacked up to 20 where as the real ones stacked to 200. People started to call me out in chat though which was a good laugh.
Why doesn't Asmongold not become a Patreon then if he really likes and wants to support Barney so much? Hell, he could sponsor the HDD recovery for him!
barny is national treasure but dont be such a simp man xD also simply watching his vids on stream is way more supportive than u can imagine
I mean does asmongold publicly announce who he supports on patreon? He might already be supporting her for all we know
4:04 it's called losing time to win some afterward when editing or whatever even. Good principle.
It's sad to see people in chat being transphobic when some people in chat try to point out that Barny came out as trans.
I think we all enjoy her content so respecting who she is is literally the least we can do. Not that us liking her content should have to play a role in accepting her.
Trans rights!
That druid burn at 20:12 really got me good
