I see we got a Jonathan Hultén streak going, brilliant! Yes, you're absolutely gonna love both the album and the EP, it's chock-full of ingenious harmonic work like this. Seeing how much you've enjoyed his songs so far, it really is a no-brainer.
Beautiful, evocative, and haunting like with the last Hulten track we heard. I will definitely have to check him out next time I'm in the mood for folk.
I grew up on folk music in the 60's and when I got into rock in the 70's was drawn to the vocal harmonies of Yes and Tull. I absolutely love Jonathan's minimalist instrumentation with rich harmonies and unexpected chord changes. The most stunning performance I've found as of yet is "Chants From Another Place" which contains 2 songs, "The Call To Adventure" and "A Dance in the Road". ruclips.net/video/dJynKtG0QDk/видео.html Stunning!
I'm off to buy a lottery ticket.... You BET there's more of this gorgeousness in his other work! This is from his debute EP and The Mountain from his first and to date only full length (Hope and pray for much more to come!) To me, this is otherworldly in both music (the beauty of it!) and lyrics (looking beyond our "woldly" pillars of reality) Happy to see you enjoy this as much as I hoped and thought you would 😊 Your analysis adds new insights as usual - some might go a bit above my head (but that may just be because of your otherworldly abilities... 😉) Ps! The Mountain isn't á capella though... Ds!
@@Jake123557 Thank You! As you know, I discovered him through Your suggestion for vocal harmonies theme. Just like then, he didn't get the votes but the random pick. Luck seem to stand by him 😊

a dance in the road is so good. i listen to it to much almost.
And now Tribulation, hehe! 🙂 Nice choice, first checked Jonathan out just yesterday!
Reminds me of "Jag ser en Hövding" in "Ronja Rövardotter".

That last part is certainly inspired by the Ronja movie vocal soundtrack.
I love it when Bryan says it’s gonna be a short video and it’s 27 minutes long. 😎
To be fair, 27 minutes is becoming rather short around here. I can't seem to make anything under 40 minutes anymore 😅
the sad long notes remind me of TOOL out of all things

I'm disappointed that there was no Alcest this week
