Terrific interview, Chris. I'm equally fascinated and horrified by fundamental religions and their damaging effects. I've bought Clint's book on Kindle and look forward to reading it.

Really interesting episode, Chris! I was raised Christian and still am, but we never were taught about the rapture. Also, learning church history was a huge part of my religious education. I honestly thought it was SO BORING as a kid, but as a midlife adult I am starting to understand the purpose of it.
Kids raised in our church have to take 6 years of church doctrine instruction (about 30 hours a year) in adolescence before we can choose to become adult members of the church, so there is no chance people do not know what they are signing up to, so to speak.
Hearing about the experiences of other Christian kids and how different it is/was is fascinating to me.

Do you have a vid breaking down the Aaron Smith Levin situation? It’s old news, but new to me. What’d he do?

I dont trust Aaron. I am not sure all went down with Aaron and Chris. I think it goes back to Danny Masterson case. Chris had a guest est with Tony Ortega on. I think the guest was a juror. From what I recall, Aaron had hissy fit and attacked Tony and sorta Chris but played that down. I may be getting a lot wrong. I used to watch Aaron but was getting bad feelings about him before this all went down. I dont think Chris said much about it

In general, it's a cluster. The quick summary is Aaron was removed from the board of the aftermath foundation for poor behaviors. The internet and official statement went live and then Aaron posted a video ect lambasting the board of the Foundation ect. Essentially all the bad blood made goals like helping people out of Scientology get stuck in a quagmire of backstabbing and accusations. (Sorry for my cynicism but imi on Aaron's part, he went public with a rebuttal video attacking close personal friends and an organization that austensible has more resources and connections that they can't afford to loose. Especially because there's no true interim board of unaffiliated but familiar individuals to head the board and recover from Aaron's accusations statements in the first place.) From then on, I haven't been keeping track of the drama from Aaron's perspective and the rest of the board members including Mike Rinder and the Headleys have kept their head down.
I'm interested in bringing do3n Scientology, I'm interested in helping people. Once you start pulling out the he said she said dynamics with accusations you can or can not prove not only is it a struggle to support the Aftermath Foundation but also any parent organization which may come from it without absolute total transparency. By opting for a paralytic choice of doing nothing that actually helps no one and actively engadges Scientology in its own tactics. This isn't to blame the Aftermath Foundation for removing Aaron from the board nor is this to say that the others in the foundation have some secret agenda to revert back to Scientology tactics or what have you. What I see from the outside is a certain number of reddit trolls (likely Scientology's or other supporters from across cultish lines) combined with a fake and real fan base around Aaron that actively endangers most of the people who are depending on the Foundation for reliable safe resources. Obviously, you can tell I'm not fond of Aaron's response nor do I really like NOT supporting the Aftermath Foundation as I think interal matters meant they may have had good reason for kicking Aaron out but I cannot see them recovering anything with how Aaron made them look like he was railroaded out of town. Unfortunately, none of the information from the Aftermath Foundation will be made public until or after they have the ability to defend themselves for libel and possibly slander, to tell the truth if it. Likewise, I see Aaron going tit fir tat in legal affairs if it comes down to it, hence why everything has gone to a stalemate if nail biting and pretending other people don't exist. If any of the pairs take a side they have no power to either bridge or heal the gaps however from where I stand, it would take an overwhelming majority to knew one party was absolutely wrong to cohere most of the people togeth3r again.

I don't know how much you have lately about hate preacher Steven Anderson. Several of his children have given you tube interviews about being beaten with electrical cords, just never constant beatings. I recommend Miriam Andersons interview with Dead Domain.

Dogmas on left and right should be carefully examined. Discard things that make no sense. Use critical thinking. Travel more. I have met many Americans in Asheville who are on the Woke left, and they are as close-minded, dogmatic and fearful as hard-line evangelicals.
