My Aunt who has knit for forever mixes a little cotton yarn in with the alpca, using a 2/4 ply cotton for an 8 ply alpca in either a matching or contrasting yarn to reduce the amount of stretch

I have fallen in love with knitting with 2 strands of yarn, because then I can make the mix of fibers that I want! Like right now I'm mixing fingering weight silk with lace weight wool, it makes a sport weight yarn that is still summery, not wooly, and get the good qualities of both fibers (silk can grow a lot, I hope the wool in there holds it a bit in shape). :) if you get over the dislike of two strands, you will enjoy the benefits 😊 i like it especially in summer garments.
That rosy wool-linen yarn looks amazing 😍

If you want Australian made yarn. There is Tarnwarncoorte (Tandie) and Fibre Arts Shed, Fibre Naturally, GORWMill who do Merino/Alpacca blend whom you would have seen their stalls at the Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show. Nundle Woollen Mill, Xchel, yarn.

I love the ranunculus pattern. I’ve made many. I highly suggest knitting it on a 5 mm and knitting a size one and you’ll get a ranunculus that fits you perfectly with probably one inch of ease
