- I railfanned Carlsbad Village this day. After I caught three trains, I met up with BNSF SoCal Productions. We chatted for a long time before a BNSF train came through. He was still chatting with me when it came through, which kinda pissed me off. But he's chill tho. Which is why you'll hear a lot of talking. Check him out!
Trains:
Pacific Surfliner #1770 goes at a pretty high speed through Carlsbad Village Station
Coaster #676 diverges onto the main track at CP Longboard in the distance before it arrives at Carlsbad Village with Cabcar #2308 leading.
Coaster #675 arrives into Carlsbad Village with SC44 #5002 leading
DAYTIME FREIGHT TRAIN (H-BARSDG3-10A) diverges onto the main at CP Longboard in the distance and blasts through Carlsbad Village a minute later, with ES44 #6881 leading
Coaster #680 departs Carlsbad Village with Cabcar #2309 leading
Pacific Surfliner #1785 speeds through Carlsbad Village with Cabcar #6906 leading.
Coaster #682 cruises through Cardiff at around 5:00 with a beautiful sunset.

Ive all ways felt like this part of the line would benefit a lot from being trenched (maybe capped) like solana beach. And given how close it is too ocean side it might benifit a lot from a set of passing tracks o the western side to allow both surfliner and freight to pass this section more frequently.
