Rainy D, that makes two of us. Maybe a light came on after she won this one. Notice the serving. She was averaging in the 113 mph. She has not done that for years! And now she's in the semi-finals without the loss of a set. She and her team has got to have been thinking about all of the close calls last year: Finals of Australia, finals of Wimbledon- No one could have told me beforehand that she would lose the Wimbledon final but after seeing the first few points of it, sadly, I knew she was having a bad day. You could tell the way she was moving, but being the class act she is, she made no excuses and the even made the semi-finals of the open and one thing most people do not understand about Venus, if you look at her history, she's an even greater champion than she's given credit for. Especially at the US Open. Most of the time, she has lost to the eventual winner there. Just think had she won those matches. I truly believe had she beaten Slone, she would have won the tournament. I call it the Venus curse. A buddy of mine and I made a bet after the semis. I told him Slone would win and he asked why I thought so, given the year Slone had had thus far. I mentioned the fact that Venus usually loses to the person who wins there. Twice to Kim, a few times to Serena when she won. Just think how many opens she would have, not to mention what might have been had she won a couple of those finals when they made the final of all of the grand slams. One has to wonder how much her autoimmune problem may have played in all of this.
I remember when the great Venus first came on tour, & the press was talking to Dad, he said something like, "Just wait til' u see her little sister".
Alright Venus this is what I like to see. She has been playing phenomenal tennis these past two years. This was a good match for Serena as well and I am a thousand percent sure Serena will be better next tournament. This could have been a final!
Venus' forehand looked the best I've seen in awhile. Hitting it hard and going for lines. With that being said you can see Serena still has her strength but she's still not at her peak fitness and was a little slow.

It's actually good to see Venus win for a change. Serena has had the upper hand for years winning 8 of the last 9 against her big sister. But don't be fooled by this victory. Serena is not yet in championship form. I just love watching these two legends play. We better enjoy it now because time flies and they will both be retired before very long. Tennis won't be the same without them.

This was a game of power and speed of two Titans, as to rent balcony, very entertaining, clean and beautiful. So you must play tennis, with power, but controlled as the two girls, I said, period! 👍🏻💯🎾

It is not clear, despite her dominance, that Serena has been greater than Navratilova or Court, while Graf, Evert, Willis-Moody, Lenglen, Connolly, Seles, King and probably Henin, would be above Venus in tennis history.

Had Venus focused entirely on her own game instead of mentoring little sis, who knows what she would have achieved? In character and achievement, Venus is #1.

Wow.... I haven't seen Venus playing like this for so long... She's at the pinnacle of her game again... Never doubted she's evergreen.... Meanwhile Serena had chances too... But hitting errors on crucial moments were the results of long absence... However her quick recovery amazes me... Hope she gets better day by day and tour by tour.... I love these sisters' tennis matches! great emotions! full professionalism! then after how many years both sisters were supposed to perform there ... congratulations that they showed up ... although there is a story that contributed to the fact that they did not play there ... in a moment maybe two years ... America will cry, when the sisters end their careers forever, let Americans remember this game! .. and more! Serena alone has 1000 matches! sister, no less .. there is really something to remember .. and I wish success to the sisters, I believe that Venus will also fight ..
