Who Am I?
I am a Management Consultant in real life but in my Bootlosophy channel, I make videos about boots and all things boot related. This channel posts reviews of boots, unboxing of new boots, and follow-up reviews, and in doing so, may explore the philosophy of the brands and makers as well as the collectors!
In this channel, I will give information found in my research about the brand, the construction, and the materials, but I will express my personal opinions about how I feel about the boots reviewed.

My enthusiasm for the boots made me forget to comment that the format of the video was great - unboxing plus a day of wear. Thanks!
I just bought the newest release of the Tukano v2 in tan wicket and Craig Latigo earlier today from their recent earth day collection and now you release this video!! What fortunate timing!! Your videos are what inspired me to buy this brand and many others like Truman and Parkhurst
Can you comment on the sizing?
Happy to support Bordon Columbia! Ordered the black Tukano on May 9. Now Teik, how is it you have yours already you lucky guy😊. Happy to see this video, and hope the W&C black looks as good as your make. Good video!
I ordered a pair over 3 months ago. Still waiting. Also ordered a pair of the SAVE THE OCEAN.
I appreciate this video and it convinced me to buy the boot. You should make a video comparing this Bordon to Truman or Nick's boot.
Good idea!
Thanks for the detailed video Teik. These look like a tremendous value and just might be my next boot...
Glad u received this early pair to share with everyone. Looks like a solid upgrade! Bordon moving into premium leathers is right in line with my interests. Can't wait for mine. Recommend you add the Wanes to your list for a future look. Also a wonderful boot.
I’m so impressed with Bordon. I’ve been salivating over their website for a while. For boots similarly priced to Red Wing they’re beautiful to look at and seem to be much more refined than Red Wing.
I think they could be my new most desired boot company.
Was just thinking the same thing. Compared to the iron ranger for example, this has veg tan leather midsole and a leather shank. Where the iron ranger use thin synthetic midsole
Iron rangers actually dont have a midsole. The have a leather insole the cork filling and after that its the rubber outsole@@bojackk108
I just put in an order for a pair of these in the burgundy color - can't wait to receive them!
Nice boot. Neat to see another stitch-down makeup. Has different look than PNW stitch-down boots.
Yes unboxing
Thanks Teik
Looking dapper, sir
Great video Teik
I’m still waiting for my Wanes in black from December ..yours arrived very quickly 👏
Great looking boots
The boots look great...Not sure I can afford them right now.

How does sizing and last compare to grant stone?
A beautifully made boot! I too have come to love the slightly wider toe box. I’m a big fan of the Floyd last from Grant Stone. How does the fit compare to Bordon?
Width wise about the same, the Floyd probably has more volume above the toes.
@@Bootlosophy Would you suggest the Bordon in the same size as the brass boot? i find the diesel a bit more snug. I prefer the Floyd last.
Stop tempting me! What’s your number 1 choice of boot in the service boot style, like this? Thanks.
I'm considering the Commando sole, but not sure if that tread being more centered would cause any instability when walking.
Has the Commando on your other boots worked out well for you?
Yes, and I have used it on both soft, wet, and hard, rocky forest trails. No instability.
what is the size of your boots
Bought a Fortis after your video and now I see this 😂
How would you compare the 2? Fortis has definitely creeped up in price.
😇 Always room for another. The Bordon is more ruggedly made while the Fortis is getting more and more finely made despite the rugged styles.
Quality of workmanship is similar for both?
I don’t see the signature orange lining, does it have a lining? Good review, thx
That leather strip on the inside top of the boot is a pretty good indication that it is unlined.
It looks like half lining
@@MH-ej1mqthat’s good to know, thanks for the info
How would Tek! How would you rate or compare them to Grant Stone in terms of quality and build construction?
TBH, GS is probably more “refined” but Bordon has that tough quality and QC is impressive
@@Bootlosophy spending $350 for Bordon versus spending $380 on Grant Stone
The biggest advantage I see is that Bordon is using the Wickett & Craig leather which many boot companies upcharge $100 or more
I might have missed it, but ehat type of heel is that?
Just a block heel.
Teik, I'm looking for a dressy (business) boot with veldtschoen( stormwelted ) and with bellows. So I can use during the winter months or rainy days and not care about water incursion. Any thoughs on good boots that fit this criteria?
Probably an Indonesian maker.
Cheaney a British boot maker makes a dressy storm welted boot.
@@SR-ob3wn the Pennine II rubber-soled boots?
@@fredito8242 Yep that’s them, I bought some a few years back, but unfortunately bought the wrong size and need to sell them, but they are beautiful, sturdy boots.
@@SR-ob3wn thanks so much. Definitely what I'm looking for.
First
The calf lining ruins it for me. Nice boots though I have to say.
How do we know they are actually paying their artisans a fair wage? You mention the owner stitching boots and difficulty finding skilled crafts people and I can't help but be suspicious of a $350 boot from a lower average wage country despite the high quality and materials. I think Bordon could win over a lot of buyers by showing wage transparency. That is my only hang up from sending $350 to Bordon vs a US boot company.
I do believe Stridewise did an in-depth video on these guys. He went to their facility in person and discussed wages, medical insurance, etc.
